Don't know who is calling me from this #  just the ph # showed up. I called back and a recording said Asset Acceptance they call all the time on my cell phone. They should stop harassing people on the phone.

That call was from a company called Asset Acceptance. They are a debt collector. If you get a call from a 480 area code that will be them as well.

I received a call from this number (773) 668-1601.  The caller did not leave a message.  All that you could hear was a phone ringing in the background.

got the call.  dont know who they are or how they got my cell phone number .  not cool.   never give my cell phone to anyone.

Typically when i get a call like this, i never call them back. I desire to know who it is and why they are calling me...

Jim Fischer, asking for a Westley Fields.. had this # for almost a year... so... I wonder who's using my #....?

This number 773-668-1601 is getting out of hand. No end to the calls. What ever the purpose they are all wet. I have turned in a complaint to the donot call registery about 4 times. This did not stop the calling. I have no reason for this kind of call. I will contintue to  file complaint each phone call.

Oh yea he also said by continuing to listen to this message I was acknowledging that I was the person he was calling. I didn't listen to it my voice mail did.

He ask for Author Jones. This person Author Jones has been a problem for me for a long time. When I moved to my new house I got his old number.
Oh yes he also said by continuing to listen to this message I was acknowledging that I was Author Jones. I didn't listen to it my answering machine did.

Got a call from 773 668 1601. Let it go to voicemail which whoever it was did not leave a message. Came to this site and found out it is a debt collector. I just got this number about a week ago and only family has number

I have just started to receive calls from this number. No messages were left yet. It just started this week. Two calls in 4 days. It says that it is from Illinois and lists 773-668-1601.

If this number is indeed for a debt collector, I do not have any debt for people to be calling about, so this makes it even more annoying.

WHO IS AACC AND WHY DO THEY CALL THIS NUMBER. THE NAME THEY ASK FOR IS A FOREIGN SOUNDING NAME.I ANSWERED BUT WHEN THEY ASK ( COMPUTER CALLING)FOR THE PERSON, I HUNG UP. I HAVE SEEN THIS NUMBER SEVERAL TIMES ON MY CALLER ID.

Just got a call from this number too and no one was on the other end. They have been calling all the time. Glad I know who they are now so that I can contact them to stop calling. I did even know collection agencies could call anyones cell phones. I thought they couldn't call them just like telemarketers.

I have been getting calls from this number for about three years now for many different people.  I have told them each time that I do NOT know the person and there has been nobody by the name at this number for three years. I ask them to please stop calling my number and they promise my number will be removed.  It has not. Today they called and I told them to stop calling as my number is in the Federal Do Not Call Registry.  The woman calling said she didn't care where it was listed that the registry did not apply to them and they would call my number any time they wish.  I have filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry and the Federal Communication Commission and plan on filing one with the Federal Trade Commission as well. After that I will contact an attorney and proceed to the greatest extent of the law possible.

This number called today and did not leave a message.  I see from reading other comments that it is Asset Acceptance.  They have been calling me for months now on another number which is 248-220-8709.  I do not answer so they must be trying a different number to get me to pick up.  

My phone is being bombarded with calls from Asset Acceptance and other debt collectors.  It is to the point I am about to change my phone number.

This number keeps calling my cell phone and they don't say who they are or what they want. Very werid.

Called asking to listen to a recorded message

THIS NUMBER CALLS ME FREQUENTLY, NEVER A PERSON ON THE LINE, BUT A RECORDING, EVEN AFTER HANGING UP IT MUST BE ON AUTO REDIAL, BECAUSE THEY CONTINUE CALLING ME.

I have received two hang-up calls from 773-668-1601 in the last week. I called the number back and found out they were debt collectors.  I told them that I didn't know why they were calling and hanging up.  He asked if I was Laura Greene.  I told him I was not, that there was no Laura Green here and has never been.  I have had this number for 25 years.  He said he would remove my number from their system.  We'll see.

Automated Message is "please remain on the line- this is not a sales call", then you wait until a real person picks up. Probably a collection agency. They didn't even have the correct name.

They are indeed a debt collect, called them back and it's not even for me.  They just have my name down as a contact point or some like that.  Told them not to call me again.

Continuously getting hang-ups from this number on my cell!

I'm adding my complaint about this phone number to every site that takes complaints! I'm tired of getting calls from them. They don't say anything on my calls even if I answer it and wait a few seconds, so I just hang up. I see from the messages here that this is a collection agency. My husband has the same name as some guy who never pays his bills, and we've talked to several legitimate businesses that are looking for that guy, but as soon as we tell them the last four digits of his social, they realize it's not who they're looking for and finally stop calling. I wonder if one of them turned in our number to this agency anyway? Well, let's all keep complaining and maybe someone will be able to stop these people from bugging us any more.

This is Asset Acceptance. They are a junk debt collector with several formal complaints against them. They buy old debts and sometimes bogus debts that are past the statute of limitations to collect on and bully you into paying hoping to get someone who doesn't know any better. Watch Out!

I have been recewiving calls from this number, but no message is left.  I have received messages on my voicemail from Asset Acceptance with a request for a person to call back that does not live at my number.  The number associated with this message is an 800 number.  The caller ID just says toll free call.
