Someone called my office from this number on Saturday, November 17

Somone from this number called me and when I answered a computerized message said, "This is an attempt to collect credit." It asked me to call another number but did not pay attention to it. A little bit later I called the number 773-668-1632 that registered to my caller ID. A real person answered. I asked her what is the call about and she transferred my call. Four rings nobody answered so I hanged up.

This number came up on my caller ID. The message left did not say who they were calling for but said "This is Ken Hughes. I need you to call me back at 888-249-4134. This is notis not a sales or solicitation call." I am on the Do Not Call Registry List. I have not called this person back. This message has been left 20 times in one week.

I was called by this number but nobody responded.Nobody answered my questions..it was just dead air.  My number is unlisted and debts resolved. Right after wards this number called-8883669070.

These messages are being constantly left looking for some guy by the name of Lee Hicks.  I have no idea who that is and the phone calls are nothing short of harrassment.  If a collection agency has to do their job that's fine but not when they have to harrass innocent people in the process.  Would love to see these people shut down.

Received a call from this number that I couldn't answer during my little one's bath time. Caller ID displayed caller only as: MCG.

Someone called me after 9 p.m.  I thought there were time limits in which collection agencies were allowed to call home phone numbers?!

Calls with recording asking for a person by name,says if your not this person press 9 to have your number removed. I press 9 and still get their call the next day.  I work 3rd shift and this company is waking me up for some one elses bill that I haven ever even heard of, and I have had this phone # for 15 months.  I have no clue why they call my # asking for some one to whom the # is not listed to.  This is making me very angry.

This is the message left on the answering machine:

"This is a message for John Doe <actual name they asked for replaced herein to protect anonymity of person they were seeking>.  If you are not <John Doe>, please hang up or disconnect.  If you are <John Doe>, please continue to listen to this message.  There will now be a 3 second pause in this message.

By continuing to listen to this message, you acknowledge you are <John Doe>.

This is Merchants Credit Card Company.  By law we are required to inform you that this is an attempt to collect a debt, and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.  Please contact us about an important business matter at 888-249-1037.  Again that number is 888-249-1037."  (it may have said "Merchants Credit Guide Company" -- it was hard to discern if it said "Merchants Credit Card Company" or "Merchants Credit Guide Company" since it was a computer leaving the message).


My answering machine, obviously, doesn't know it's supposed to disconnect when they said the call is for <John Doe>, so of course it kept on recording.  So now I suppose they think my line is where <John Doe> lives (nobody of the name they were asking for lives here nor do I know anyone by that name), and I suppose they'll keep on calling here incessantly even when I ask them to stop... all because my answering machine didn't hang up when they called and said that by continuing to stay on the line I was acknowledging I'm <John Doe> (I really hate collection agencies).  And by the way, isn't it illegal for collection goons to leave debt information about someone else? (just like they cannot send a postcard to your neighbors or work associates and have written on it that you owe someone money??)

Collection agencies and agents are really the most loathsome scum of the earth... the true dregs of society... the bottom feeders of all humanity.  I mean really... come on... people simply don't choose to not pay their bills and student loans so they can have their credit ruined and be endlessly harassed day and night by rude, obnoxious, uneducated, pitiless, bellicose, offensive, nasty, repugnant, repellent, revolting, wretched, boorish, coarse, uncultivated, graceless, domineering, defiant, impertinent, tacky, atrocious, vicious, lecherous, prurient, saucy, intrusive, shameless, snippety, sassy, mocking, scoffing, smart-alecky, loutish, tyrannical, devilish, asinine, mean, juvenile, ruthless, unfeeling, lowbred, insulting, unsympathetic, callous, unkind, obdurate, virulent, sarcastic, annoying, disparaging, uncompassionate, defamatory, castigating, heartless, vengeful, conceited, savage, truculent, contumelious, remorseless, tasteless, derisive, bitchy, incredulous, bad-mannered, cold-blooded, amoral, impolite, churlish, obscene, uncivilized, uncouth, uncultured, inhumane, slimey detestable sleazeballs who can't get a job doing anything else because they were off smoking dope when they should have been paying attention in school and have now sunk so low in life that they've had to resort to going to work for a collection agency and then choose to take all their resulting frustrations in life out on poor, hard-working, decent, virtuous, upstanding, unblemished, well-meaning, good-hearted, meritorious, upright, law-abiding citizens (NOT including illegal aliens since they steal jobs away from American citizens and are, by definition, criminals) who either now cannot work due to a physical or mental ailment or disability or are working but don't bring home enough money because Satan himself aka Dictator Bush / PreziDUNCE Bushitler / Smirky McChimp and the evil neoconservative Rethugnicans have eviscerated our democracy and shipped many of our jobs overseas to third-world countries and kept wages here in the U.S. so depressed for the middle, working, and lower classes that virtuous, law-abiding people are simply unable to pay their bills and would do so if they simply could.  Their coup d'grace though was allowing the banking industry itself to rewrite the bankruptcy code so now even bankruptcy can't protect those who have been hurt the most by the evil, corrupt, shamelessly immoral, totally fascist and utterly demonic Bush Repugnicans.  Of course, if you voted for DiKKKtator Bushit and Vice President Darth Vader then you have to admit you were warned and only have yourself to blame.

Just the number 773-668-1632 and Chicago Il.  Answer machine answered, just a dial tone until machine hung up.  Called 8:04 am PST woke me up, I am a shift worker.

Just got a call from this people and they wanted to verify my social security and I told them I dont give that out and hung up. I have never seen this number or got a call from them until today.

Same call from a new number.  I've received constant phone calls from these clowns looking for some guy named "Lee Hicks" who does not live here.  The recording is completely idiotic, as they are leaving a message on an answering machine saying "if you continue to listen, you acknowledge that you are Lee Hicks".  Somebody has to stop these people.

Merchants Credit Agency, or similar name, called about a bill for AT&T Broadband service in 1997 which was not paid - never had such service.

They just called, listened and hung up.
