Just got the call from Josh Slankand from Advocate Safe Harbor 773-360-2185 same scam as above...wanted to help us with a lien against a company we were not even associated with....thank you for your posting I was able to find this information while my boss had Josh and he called his bluff on the scam.

In order for your office to be called by the Office of the Taxpayer Advocate, either the business owner has to have requested it, or the IRS Officer/Agent has referred the case to you. Either way, the business owner would have been notified. In addition, the phone call iD would have shown the IRS Office and the toll-free number.

FOLKS... The Office of the Tax Payer Advocate for the IRS does not make calls. If you have a Tax Lien or Notice of Tax Lien issued from the IRS in Seattle, it is issued by the iRS ACS Automated Collection Service via Fresno, Austin or Cincinnatti. IRS Lien documents do not come from Chicago. I have been at this with these folks for the past six (6) years and I have ignored these folks all along.

They are just people looking to work on your behalf. Last batch of idiots wanted $10,000.00 to help with a $3880.00 tax liability and payments of over $1800.00 and a balance of $1250.00. That makes snese how??? These folks have used fictitiou attorney names and individuals to get in the door. IGNORE tem. Go to reputable attorney if you need asistance.

These people are IDIOTS and COLD CALLERS. Note to the IDIOTS, the company they are asking about was dissolved two (2) years ago. GOOD LUCK!!! Doesn't exist and operates under new name and Tax Payer ID. Shows just how STUPID some people really are.

I received a phone call from Safe Harbor asked well ..phone # 773-897-0926

I got calls from these people, they had the wrong business.  Told them so and blocked their number.  This morning, they robo-called me 31 TIMES while I was on a business call.  I called them back and told them to stop calling.  He was polite, but said he had never spoken with me.  Whatever.

Received two calls from 773-893-1504.  I didn't answer, so they left a message.  It was BLANK !!

JUST GOT A CALL from 773-893-1504... different than this # but SAME COMPANY- this was MITCH- said he needed to speak with whoever files the tax returns for an old business that was BK years ago...  i was scared and emailed my CPA right away but then found this post so now i feel better - i was totally scared something happended from years ago that i didnt know about coming to get me or something... so glad i searched this- thnx

Do NOT fall for any of their lines. They will tell you they have notice of a tax lien filed by IRS against your company / you / etc. Just got a call from them offering to help me resolve this with the IRS. I AM A CPA (didn't tell them that) and KNEW their has never been a lien filed against me or any of my businesses. I'm posting here just to let anyone who reads this know that IF you have a tax lien issue with the IRS, the Service WILL DEFINITELY notify you before any such filing. If you do have one filed, do NOT deal with any businesses like this (non CPA or lawyers). Instead, if you don't have one, find a CPA, enrolled agent, or tax attorney. Mr. Mike Lang from Tax Advocate Office who wanted to "help" our company with IRS Federal Tax problems.  Caller ID stated his phone company carrier "Safe Harbour".  Mr. Lang says his office is in the Chicago area.
