Person would not tell who they were

Yes, the caller called us as well and asked for a money gram ....which we sent and did not return the lost item.

Received a voice message from this number. Claimed he knew about my stolen items. Interestingly, the first message he gave an incorrect number, called back the next day with a correction, this time form the actual number. The number used for the first call 503 763 3247

yeah he tried to scam me too!He couldn't describe lost object.

called today told me that he found lost idem, asked me to send him money western union. told me he could not send COD. when i called him back to have him decribe the item he told me that he would have to call me back, he had just sent it out with his worker to mail. my wife told me it sounded like a scam so here we are, she was right..

Posted a lost item on Craigslist  then the next day I get a call from someone named BOB a "independent truck driver" i described my items then stopped short of the rest....if he has it in front of him then HE SHOULD KNOW!!

Said he was in Missouri and called from this 773 no#. A**hole.

At least no $$$ exchanged hands.

p.s. I posted my no# in the ad so thats how they knew to try and hook me in.

THank goodness for this website. I just got the same call but didn't ask him any questions. He told me he was shipping my wallet and to call him back in 15min. My phone at work will not call this # for some reason, so I googled the phone # to find out what was up/who owns it and here I am. I'm supposed to call him back right now. I was so excited about getting my wallet back ... but I'm so glad I didn't fall for it thanks to this site.

This scumbag is still up to the same games and tried to take advantage of my daughter.  He supposedly found her lost item on Craigslist and was a truck driver and he and his wife "wanted to do the right thing".  He calls from 224-723-6331.  He has used other numbers in the past.  NEVER give up money until you can verify that he actually has your item and hands it over to an OfficeDepot employee to ship out.  Call the OfficeDepot location and speak to the manager to have them verify that he is actually there.  If you make him go through these steps, any "good" person doing the right thing would understand and take the appropriate steps.  

The initial calls started out nice and each subsequent call got shorter and he got more upset the more hoops we asked him to jump through.  We never sent the money and waited for him to call back.  He was mad that we "made him to go OfficeDepot for nothing", when actually he was mad that we made him go to Walmart for nothing!!  There was no money at Walmart in the form of a moneygram waiting for him from us!  Thank God for "motherly instincts" and Google!  If you have been victim, please post it online to help prevent others from being victim.  Past posts helped us from being a victim.  THANK YOU!

did the caller respond to a lost and found ad and ask for money first before returning the lost item?  That happened to me today.
