I forgot to add that I called my cell phone provider (Verizon) and they said that they would block this
number for me. I hope they don't start calling from another number. Only time will tell.

Some stores ask for your phone number at the checkout register. Tell them that it is unlisted and you don't
give it out. Don't give them a fake number because it might be traced back to you and you might have a
lawsuit against you. You definetly shouldn't give a law enforcement phone number. I wonder if they
could sue you if you gave them the number that is calling you?

I called my service provider (Verizon) and they said that they will block this number. We shall see.

I'm sorry, I left out the #500 in the address that the two people had in their address. In google (maps)
1170 financial blvd #500, Reno, Nevada shows as Home Depot, but if you leave out the #500 then
1170 financial blvd, Reno, Nevada shows as ORC.

So far I've received 5 calls from 775-337-1194. The first call did not ring. It went straight to voicemail.
However they left no message. On one of the later calls, the woman with a foreign accent, identified
the company that she worked for as OTC International. Since I only have a cell phone and I get a poor
signal where I live, I was unable to hear her answers to my questions. I would not answer any of her
questions even if I could have heard them. I think that it bothered her that I kept asking questions and
she hung up. I received calls #4 and 5 since then. I looked up OTC International since then and they
said that they don't have a area code 775. I find it interesting that people who have shopped at Lowe's
started getting these calls. Two people above have said that it is a research company at
1170 financial blvd, Reno, Nevada. I did a google (map) search on that address and it showed that the
address belongs to Home Depot.

I just called the main number of ORC (Opinion Research Company) at the main number (1-775-337-1000). A woman answered the phone and was very nice. I stated that I've been getting these calls and would like to be taken off the list. She said "no problem", and asked my phone number and confirmed it's a 'business'. I stated that no, it is my personal cell phone, and she apologized and was very surprised. She called me back 5 minutes later to confirm I've been removed from their call list.
That easy folks- just take some action instead of getting worked up and getting frustrated at the person doing their job and calling numbers on a list that their supervisor probably gave them. Can't shoot the messenger!

Received a phone call from Patty from ORC. She asked me to do a 10-minute survey about group health insurance carriers. She basically asked me about my opinion on various group health insurance carriers. The survey did indeed take 10 minutes.

One of several possibilities...but unlikely since the number seems to be associated with a "survey" company or telemarketer.

This number Nevada call 775-337-1000 has showed up on my caller ID several times. Getting tired of this I called back and it was answered as "Opinion Research" I asked them to removed my number from their list and the man replied that this was Opinion Research number and did not apply to the DNC list. He said he would remove my number from the list if I gave him my number. I replied...you already have my number. He replied that they do many opinion polls all over the country and I would have to give him my number to be removed from these lists. Silly me, I gave it to him and and hope they keep their word. We will see. I asked for his name and he said it was Jim.. Now will see what happens?

The number keeps showing on my biz line after i'm closed. They called during biz hours today and when i answered, I got ringing as though i was calling someone. I let it ring many times and then it paused and switched to a fast busy tone. Geez, if you're gonna call me, have the decency to do it with some sort of human interface. This is one step lower than the robo calls that have recordings when you pick up the phone. I have no idea what they're looking for, but they sure aren't gonna get it like this!

I just received a call from this number tonight. I didn't answer either and then checked the number on the web. I too, am on the DNC list, however, it apparently doesn't seem to matter. Thank goodness for this site.

The caller ID says "Nevada Call." I didn't answer and they left no message. I'm on the DNC but that seems to do no good. I find calls like this particularly annoying because if you work nights and sleep days (as some of us have to) they can really destroy your sleep pattern. One thing I do sometimes (if a person is on the other end, in the rare occasions I answer calls from numbers I don't recognize) is answer in either French or German.

After ignoring three calls to my cell phone by this number (and reading this web site), I answered the fourth call on a Saturday when it wouldn't use my minutes. It was Opinion Research conducting a survey about Lowe's. I had just recently given Lowe's my cell number because I'd hired them to do some work on my house. Obviously, Lowe's gave Opinion Research my number. I declined to take their survey and asked to be removed from their call list. The caller politely said he'd comply and we hung up. We'll see if they stop calling, but I'm hopeful that they do.

this # (7753371194) calls my home at all hours.. I want it to stop , My #'s are on the do not call list, so lets keep it that way!!!! DO NOT CALL.
| Jim Amling 2011-06-06 20:56:56 Unknown |
Unfortunately, since the company is not soliciting you to purchase something, it is NOT a violation of your DNC rights. I do agree with you that these calls are annoying, so maybe we should all solicit our government representatives to add market research callers to the DNC list.
| mATT 2011-06-06 20:56:56 Unknown |
It is a customer service survey from something that you purchased. Mine was to check on the service that a Lowe's Installer provided for installing my refridge.

I should add this. If CNN calls you directly they must by law use your information as you direct it. If they hire a 3rd party to make those calls looking for the results they want to hear and are pushy they have an agenda and no matter what you say they are ordered by someone to obtain the right results. They also maybe indirectly working for CNN. Hired by the DNC to be aired on CNN for instance. That changes everything. It's all in the wording.
My eyes have been opened since I joined TEA. We have so many crooks running this country in both parties your head would spin if you knew how some of these games are played. Even the polls are corrupt, I just found that out for sure. And even though I worked at it in the past I guess I didn't want to believe it.
