It was United Recovery Systems.
These are very bad people. They are a collections agency, possibly a Junk Debt Buyer.
They call all of your friends, family and neighbors. They find this information from accurint, lexis Nexis and other database services.

Received this call at home number. Did not answer. When I called back, a person answered United Recovery looking for another individual I did not know. Called based in Reno.

They called regarding a Chase Visa card that we let go to collection. I refused to give any information until I verified with Chase. I called Chase and they gave me the number of the outfit that the account was sold to. I called that company and they were able to give me full information about my account, address, etc and warned me against other collectors.
conclusion:
Verified that this number is used for fraudulent collection of legitimate debts. BEWARE!

Got a call from this number with local area code, made the mistake of answering. Man said something about a tax board and I thought, we don't owe any taxes. Then he mentioned Capital One. I have had very severe issues with Capital One, enough to report them to BBB and consumer issues. Starts off being typical bill collector and then gets really nasty about my not paying my bills. I pay my bills, I just have issues with Capital One not accepting what I can afford to pay them, holding on to payments and applying them late so they can charge me a late charge (pretty much cancels out your payment!) and I haven't even had a valid card since 2005. They won't allow you to pay over the phone with a debit card even though any other company will. I am one of thousands of people that got laid off from their job and am trying very hard to get another job. Made the mistake of telling this jerk that, he says that my bad credit is the reason that no one will hire me (funny how I got a seasonal job with no problem, they were even upset to have to let me go because season was over, encouraged me to try back later on) It got worse from there and I hung up. Found out this seems to be Capital One's general working policy, they even have had several class action suits against them. Unless you like abuse, DON'T ANSWER THIS NUMBER!!!

Bottom feeding crooks, complete with shills paid to make fake posts on 800 notes. What else would you expect?

Received the same phone call as listed above. I don't believe it is a creditor/debt collector and believe it to be part of a phishing scheme. Any collection agency I have dealt with in the past had freely identified themselves at the start of the phone call.
This guy claimed to be a Daniel Moore (not sure if I remembered the first name correctly). And kept asking for personal info to identify I was the correct person he was trying to reach. Denied giving him any info. Scary thing is, this person knew my address.

They have called continually, and they do not leave a message. I don't answer my phone (period) unless I know who the number belongs to. I pay for the phone service....so I can make the rules.
It is likely a collection agency....
