Yeah, they are actually extortionist cowards hiding behind a phone.  If you have or come across any additional information such as name of company, address, website, and/or email and you post it here, folks can do some digging to expose this fraud

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

From everything posted here, its a scam.  If they threatened to have you arrested, it is a scam.. Debt is a civil not criminal matter.  If the threatened to "serve" you, its a scam.  No one ever warns you that you will be served before hand

Actually, it appears it is a private investigation company located in Washington, as well as Oregon and California.  You may wish to contact the State licensing boards to see if what is occurring is ethical or legal.  You can find if they are still licensed there by calling each board. In some states, recording the phone calls is legal if for prosecution purposes for harassment, terroristic telephone calls and threatening telephone calls.

Okay, I didn't get a call from this 775 number, mine was from 702-425-8836 ext 115. Today. And it was a male with a fairly deep voice saying his name was Thomas McDowell with WSA LLC in Las Vegas NV, 8275 S. Eastern Ave., Ste 200. BUT, everything else that happened to above persons happened to me. That's how I found this thread, I Googled "WSA, LLC Nevada lawsuits". He said I wrote a check to Ace Cash Express back in 2008 and didn't pay so now the (could've sworn he said) 'Attorney General' was filing charges against me in two days and this is my only chance to clear it or a warrant would be issued for my arrest and my DL would be suspended. Debt was supposedly over $1,200. Yeah, I freaked out. My girlfriend suggested I call her mom who's fluent w this stuff. Turns out, THE SAME SCAM happened to their son! Same group! Holy cow, these jerks are busy! Anyway, I wanted to share this, noting the lapse in time since last post, and that it was a male now that is making the calls.

   www.w-s-a.com   its an investigation team in Cook county. Kevin Garrett also with Snelling Private Investigations that is run by Donna L. Snelling. They also have a number 325-480-8886, can also look that up on this page for ALOT of posts. W.S.A from what I read is an investigation/servers team that I guess assists 3rd party collections, or are an 3rd party collections agency by buying mass quantities of payday loan debts or bank securities debts and ruthlessly and illegally harass people the recover monies lost. When they serve you "If they serve you" , they are no doubt banking on that you do not show up to Small Claims court and they win on default. So when they are going to court with Thousands of debt cases and no one fights the in court than they have a great payday on debts that they bought for pennies on the dollar.
            When 3rd party collection lawyers buy these debts they are bought and sold so extensively that the " chain of custody" on ownership of the debt is 99.9% lost along the way, meaning that if they do not have EVERY SINGLE PIECE  of evidence I.E - copies of bounced checks, a signature, a picture , everything down to the letter, than they cannot prove they own that debt " Properly before the court", and you win. Even if they have piles of evidence, even if you say you owe Ace Express cash the debt originally, they have the burden of proof that you owe " them " the debt, and if they do not have EVERY step of your loan process Original with signatures, check copies, bank statements etc. the unique way that Ace makes you apply and get approved for the loan, then they lose.( every loan place has mostly "their way of doing loans".
        Also if they have all that evidence, now they must prove and account for all "monies" they are asking for. They must show the original debt down to the penny and also account for and why they are tacking on or doubling the amount.99.9% of the time they don't have that either. They deal with sooooo many cases their "lawyers" don't even look at your case and Know you either will not show up or that you don't know they need to prove this. And if you make their pursuit of you more expensive than what its worth to them 99.9% of the time they will give up.
       Before court you will go to "mediation" kinda like settling or they will try and scare you into taking a deal before they take you to the bank so to speak, tell the mediator you are broke and theres no money to get, and let them know that you know they don't have every part of "chain of custody" or "monies accounted" and your ready to go to court and once you win, which you 99.9% of the time will, you are going too, counter sue them and you already have a "consumer attorney" picked out, along with all their illegal harassing recorded voicemails or message machines.They are trying to legally extort you for monies and are banking on your fear, laziness ,and ignorance and they will win.
                          All of this information has been gained from free consultations of many consumer attorneys .....Don't be scared and stand up for yourself ...They have broken so many of your rights already and laws that you need to stand up. DID you know that if they left a threatening message on your machine or voicemail and you have a minor living in your house at the time it is a FELONY charge on them so save the messages, write them certified mail for " verification of debt" and tell them you know what your rights are as a consumer laid out  in the Fair debt collections practices act. And never NEVER give out any Information that they DONT already have like ssn#, most of the time they only have the last 4 digits and then ask you to verify the rest....BE Careful.

I received a message from Amber Flannigan on 7/24/13 and stated she was calling on behalf of the Dept of Justice and that I had one count of deception and 5 counts of check fraud made by my banking agent and that I was going to jail. When I returned her call, after speaking with the police dept and Attorney General's office whom had informed me that I was not charged with any crimes, she immediately became irate and claiming I would be getting sent to jail and that she had video tape of me making these fraudulent transactions. I confirmed with my bank, ACE, and the police that she is just a scammer and that I don't owe anything to them. So be aware not to give any information, especially money to Amber Flannigan!

Hey Carissa....dunno if you have been reading my posts but, is the info I have on my last post same as yours? Because I was able to find something in Texas, if not please post the info on them you have found..I couldn't really understand your post...I have found out that another company Phoenix equities group (they go by many names I found phoenix law ,phoenix this and that ), are calling me on the same debt, some 407 number. Ace express cash is my debt but the common denominator is banks...I called her today "AMBER" and she said City bank was pressing charges from june 2010 for a post dated check I "supposedly" wrote to Ace express cash for a payday loan. They tried getting the money out twice insufficient,then she said they doubled the loan amount and tried hitting my account 3 more time back in 2010. So the bank is pushing fraud charges. When I told her I called both Ace and City bank, she said I was being "untrufull" to her sarcastically trying to trip me up while crazy laughing as I told her both the bank and payday said she was full of it. Then she was being kinda crazy and childish saying " well what will happen is what will happen". Man what a cooky chick. Like a Phsyco girlfriend  behavior kinda . I also talked to Nevada attorney general, never heard of her they don't prosecute loans, and I called las vegas county District attorneys office bad checks divison and they said they are not represented by collection agency and they don't prosecute fraud oh same with California. Oh even the "Phoenix collection agency laughed about her. I hope you read this I check peoples posts here a couple times a day not that im a weirdo with nothing to do but Im kinda hooked on seeing what others say about her THANX..............

ok so i called her back after i talked to last debt collection agency and told her that i was told my debt agency that they bought my account and in fact they are a debt agency and what they are doing is illegal before saying all this i asked her name and she said kelly, kelly what? kelly saunders and i demanded a settlement letter be emailed and mailed to me. she said it takes 48-72 hours. i received email and it doesnt state anything about being a law firm in fact it does state legal action will be used. but at the bottom it says "this is attempt to collect a debt". miss saunders was very friendly after hearing my dad contacted an attorney. and the whole time she went from being terrifing to me to a day before .actually sounding like a kiss a**. never once asked for a payment minded her ps and qs i have the address they supposibly work at and i called another company with the same address and she said its a john williams and rita that moved in the building but she could not find any info on what they did as a company for wsa, llc. she gave me another number which was ritas phone number and she seemed pretty pissed off and would not give any info regarding the company even when i asked if it was a law firm. i informed her i just spoke with fizzell which was the attorney in her building that gave me the number

I received this call yesterday. I'm 60 years old and I freaked out. My daughter took control of the situation contacting not only the local prosecuting attorney, local police and state police in Nevada, but went even further and called Ace themselves. Ace informed her that they do not do this and she even talked to their collection agency and was told again that this is a scam as they do not go after people in this way. This is very frightening considering the fact that they are targeting people like myself who may not have the resources to find out the truth and they end up losing $4000. After telling my daughter that this is a scam, the Nevada State Police informed her that the only way anything will be done about this situation is for those who have been contacted to file a "telephonic harassment" complaint with your local police department. I hope everyone does this because we need to shut "Amber Flanagan" DOWN!!!!

Never threat I called Clark county Nv, distric Attorneys " bad checks " divison in NV, California . They said they do not wirk this way they don't prosecute post dated checks, payday loans, etc. It is not a crime to owe a debt. The Attorney generals office my wife called today in Sac. California and also Nevada said the same thing we have reported them and they said its a scam. They are not allowed to use those tactics when collecting a debt, also that if you have these messages on voicemail or recorder then if they are a real collection agency not a money scammer then it would void your debt with them for breaking the fair debt collection practices act ( F.F.D.C.P.A). They also told me that you cannot be prosecuted for loans its in NO way criminal, just civil and if you ever get takin to court ( civil ) play the tape.lol.....Amber Flanagan you are a FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!.......I know your company reads these things you check ur reviews online through your number because you have FAKE names and FAKE company with no information that checks out. I have reported you and am leaving this message on all websites I casn find....Oh and by the way the Prosecutor in Vegas was PERSONALLY going to check on you they have ways to trace you they said..

Yeah that number called me and left a message on my wifes phone saying I have these check deception charges ( illegal to provide my info to the public ), my name was not on the voicemail greeting she didn't know if that was the right number, her name Amber Flanagan ext.131. She talked slow and deep and scary about charges and my license and if I didn't call back before 3pm yesterday, to just turn myself in. When you call the number there are 3 options to choose from, all go to a voicemail that's full, then says error and hangs up on you with the name Patricia keys. I have heard that name before somewhere I swear maybe an old collector. Every time I call scary Amber it starts in voicemail with instructions for us and then for attorneys, call screening I am sure. I have called her the past 2 days. I have read other posts on this and other sites by entering the number. They call themselves W.S.A = William, Shepherd, and applegate based out of Reno or Vegas I guess. Ive talked to prosecutors before on the phone believe me and usually they are nice and curtiouse and I am sure would not be in business with someone leaving recorded messages like that. I am not sure what the debt payday loan the are trying to collect on is im assuming Ace express cash same as you guys right?. I all the sudden this week as well out of no where have another collector calling me 470-514-2861 calling themselves Phoenix equities group, aka Phoenix lawyer services, with there emails saying another company Vantage services llc. The guys name Wayne Scott, Debrah Kingston, Rosay, collecting for Ace express ,cash they are from Georgia. they always seem confused about info, some of theres are wrong etc. I wonder if they together working in tandom playing good cop bad cop. You CANNOT be jailed for payday loans .Anyways I have not been able to contact anyone from the company we are all talking about ....Funny we all got theses calls around the same time and then checked up on them, to see if they are real,deep down we must know they are practicing scare tactics. Read the debt collection tactics reviews and succesfull lawsuits (many) against Ace express cash. I wish you all luck and leave you with this little gem=====   IC35-43-5-5(f)  if a small business lender knew, at time of receipt, the account had insufficient funds,or the check was postdated, the issuer has not committed the crime of check deception...........they knew by bank staements at loan application or even some make you atm your card to show insufficient funds at time of application to prove your account is open, your broke of why else would you need a loan, then they give you bad check charges, when they knowingly take bad (postdated) checks. All they required of me was an open bank account, and they cant prove I intentionally tried to commit a crime, We all had the intention to pay back but bills come and more loans to cover them and they know that. Next Gem-- postdated checks are noted good after the actual date it was passed and is not eligible for prosection, even if it was an out of state check. Good luck.

Some lady called asked for Me, I said she is not here right now, may I take a message?  She then told "me" a stranger who was not identified in any way the Mr. So and So had a criminal federal warrant about to be issued for arrest due to check deception.  I know with the federal laws that they can't give any info like that to anyone but the person listed on the debt.  She did not say what the "charge" was for just federal arrest warrant for check deception unless Mr. So and So called Mr. Santiago to set up an arrangement before the warrant was sent out.  This is so illegal it's not even funny!  What scammers, and how scared they might make someone who does not know the law.  No wonder these tactics work on many people, if they are not aware that it's BS.

Do NOT give the scammer any of your personal information or acknowledge the debt.  Learn your rights under the FDCPA.  From what you report, the caller has violated that act a few times already.  Demand they mail you (not fax or email) you validation of the debt.  I'll bet they will find some excuse to not do that.  You can try to get a mailing address from them (they'll probably refuse) to send them a certified-mail letter either demanding validation of the debt or demanding they cease phone contact with you, whichever is best for you.  If they do not provide written validation of the debt, which includes proof that they are the legal owners of the debt, and that they are licensed to collect in your state, then you owe them nothing.

I got a call from this number saying i took out a ace payday loan 4 years ago wrote a check and it didint go thru with the bank. so it went to collections and now has been sent to an attorney. i remember taking the loan out but im not sure if i wrote a check. The lady was very rude and wouldnt answer any of my questions. like i asked how much the check was written for and she would tell me well the loan was for $342.28 and i tried explaining i didint have to pay it all back the 1st week it was divided and she just kept yelling telling me if i didint make 1/2 payment right now of $1840.56 she would file something to go to court, and a warrant for my arrest would be sent out in the county i live in and my liscense would be suspended. but when i asked ok well when will i get notice of court hearing she said no you wont go to court until after your arrested and detained and however long it takes to set court date. she was yelling at me so much i asked if i could speak to someone else or "attorney scott" she kept saying but all she said was no i get paid to deal with people like you. before we hung up i asked what wsa stood for and she said it didint stand for anything, also asked where it is located Las Vegas was her response, and i asked attorneys name and she said attorney scott and i said scott what and she said william scott. ive looked up all i can on this number, attorney, and wsa place and i found a wsa but its for environmental stuff.....is this legal? i called ace payday loan and i got transferred from debt agency, to debt agency waiting for a call back for the last one i called (their office was closed) but none of the names and numbers matched with this wsa place that called.
