Our Verizon bill just hit over $600 for the overage from this number; we spoke to a rep in the store who got them to knock down 25% but NO; I'm STILL not paying almost $500 for a $100/mo line.  Spoke to someone directly today and they offered another 10% off but "we've already gone above and beyond."

Fine. I am declaring bankruptcy in the next few weeks anyway and they'll be MORE than happy with the 25cents they'll get in 5 years.

wife recieved two data messages, when i looked under data in my review of calls they showed up, one from my son and one from sons godmother. Also saw one in other sons call log but does not show who they were from. Im guessing you need to beware, looks like pictures can be sent from yahoo messenger, or from facebook if you sign out to have messages forwarded by those programs. Make sure you and your children have not signed yourself out to have messages forwarded!

My bill this month was over $500, and this number is showing up all times of the day and night.  I get on facebook every now and then, but I am never on 74 minutes at a time.  My normal bill runs no more than $50 a month.  I called Verizon, and they told me that there was nothing that they could do, however; I called back and spoke to a really nice lady who is researching this for me.  She even admitted that something doesn't look right.  I refuse to pay this bill.  I will be looking into taking legal action if this is not corrected.  I also questioned if anyone else had had this same problem and she told me no, but it looks like that was a lie!!!   I hope they can fix this.

That's what we are trying to do and they plan to charge us $50 because phone not in original box, and $175 to break contract that is only two weeks old.  First charges were over 900 minutes which we did not use, we are in our 70's, at the amount of $285!!  It is a Verizon issue and a mess we are fighting to get out of.

I just got my bill $700!, normally around $150.  I noticed this 7770000001 as data transferring about every 30 minutes for a minute throughout the night racking up my minutes.  I spoke to VZ rep. and was told my minutes are from data and probably because I used VZ navigator or some other app.   VZ rep blocked all internet and the data charges stopped 9/13.

My son has this number on his bill And I have had the phone due to him being grounded. So the phone has been off and in my safe. He does not have web access or the back up service. It just has voice and txt. No camera. And verizon told me that the phone was used. I asked him why there are no calls made or recieved in the last 2 weeks. He said the system was not updated yet. I told him there is nothing to update. I told him I have had the phone in my safe for 2 weeks and the phone was powered off. His acted like he did not hear me say that. something is a foul in there software. If its not fixed then all these people that have this problem I am sure they are in the thousands can fill a claim or something legal.

My husband and I just noticed that number is coming out on our cell phone bill and is eating up our airtime minutes 1-2 minutes at a time!!! We called and they told us it was DATA charges for us browsing the mobile web or using get it now. We don't EVER use get it now, mobile web, instant messaging. On our bill online the charges were .45 for every minuted used to this stupid so called DATA number 777-000-0001 but the charges are showing up as vOICE charges not DATA charges so there is definately something fishy going on ther and no one seems to have an explanation for it when we call!!!! I am very upset that verizon seems to be doing this scam!!! I posted a bulletin on myspace and am going to send out several emails for everyone to check their bills. We can't let Verizon get away with this scam it's just WRONG!!!

I called verizon about this 7770000001 number.  they said it was data calls.  i had calls from every hour of the day for several days!  Hundreds of times on my bill.  I need to sleep and go to work...there is NO POSSIBLE WAY!!!  The lady argued on the phone with me for over an hour and said someone was accessing celltop.  maybe once or twice over the course of the month...but hundreds????  come on!!!  They said i need to take it into the store.  Whatever!  This isnt over yet.  And...to top it off...my bill was $75 more than normal!  I just got switched by no choice of my own from alltel.  this is crap!

just added my g/f number to my account one day ago and she already has ten calls from this number i have called the number and been told it was out of service via recording 10 calls for 19 mins all at wierd times.  If this is from verizon or alltel then it does constitute theft and legal action should be taken.

I hate to say it, but I'm glad to see a recent post on the 7770000001 thing.  We just got moved from Alltel to Verizon and thank goodness I have internet access to watch the current usage.  I know for a fact what I have done on my phone and when I did it and it was not data of any sort it was a picture message.  And yes I got the whole story that we are accessing the internet.  As of right now, I am so sick of Verizon I could scream and of course still have 4 months on my contract. If anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated.

This number is zapping minutes from my stepsons phone thus affecting me as we are on the same plan. I am currently working with Verizon to remedy the situation. We were just switched from Alltel to Verizon. I will get to the bottom of this and I will get the charges dropped. By the way, Internet access, which is what I was told this is, has been blocked on his phone since 10/07/09. Charges have appeared even yet today-10/25/09.

my phone bill went from $80.00 a month for years to a whopping $445.00 in one month because 777-000-0001 was all over my bill! no one can explain at verizon and they said it was my fault!Imagine that!verizon said i must have hit my send button 718 times to use data and i did'nt even know it!they  changed my plan--to help me of course.it seems kinda fishy to me!

I had this happen on my bill on one of our Verizon family phones.  The phone was not used for anything that would have incurred data charges, but we had about 1400 in data charges on one phone.  But today, after Verizon told me my only option was to increase my plan minutes because my bill had not yet turned over, the extra charges were no longer listed on the online interface.  My billing cycle turns over on Saturday.

How can Verison be stopped?  If they bill it we have to pay, regardless if we've done it or not. Does anybody know what can be done?? I'd like to hear from someone that was successful in getting it stopped.
I'm having the same problem and I've never done the Get it Now thing...I don't even know how!!  Anyone I've talked to at Verison appears to be shocked by my tale, but say they are all GET IT NOW's that have been accessed. They did block it but its still happening-they don't know why. I was told they would credit some of it, but it didnt show up on my next bill. I called the P.U.C. but they haven't heard of it. (I asked both the PUC and Verison to Google the # and check out the complaints.) Maybe if all of us would call the PUC they'd do something. I have a family plan, 5 phones, 777-000-0001 appears on all of them, most at a minute each, sometime twice a minute, sometimes hundreds/day. I know us 2 "olds" aren't doing the 'get it now" thing, and since the # follows the same pattern on the other 3 phones as on our two, I don't doubt they're telling me the truth when they say they're not doing it either.  That this is happening to so many people to me is suspect. To even think that Verison will ever admit there's a problem and stop the charges is crazy.  Why would they, they get to bill it, you have to pay it.  They apparently police themselves so we have no recourse.  I don't know how to prove I didn't do it.

Just got transferred from Alltel to Verizon and received the first bill. Found the 777 numbers on one of our cell phone lines 403 times. We were charged .40 a min for each call made during peak times. Of course we were not personally making these calls 24hrs a day.
Found that an email application on the phone was constantly updating and checking for new emails. We deleted the email accounts on the phone, checked online for yesterdays usage for that line and the data calls stopped at the time of day we deleted the accounts.
