Call from 777-889-6098.  Probably in India based on the fact they called at 1:22am in the U.S (10:22am in India).  They use sophisticated computer call robots to disguise location.  By the way, if you never answer the phone, it will eventually log enough times as a dead number.  

Not much can be done unless the U.S. government wants to invest something in tracking down these overseas scammers.  They are selling overseas pharmaceuticals (you know those popups to buy Vicadin dirt cheap).. among other things, blah blah.  Verizon needs to begin to allow people to block phone calls based on area code, specific numbers, etc.  We buy the service, so let us decide who we want calling.  They have the technology to do this but our stupid Federal government will not allow this for some reason.

Who is this?

i just received a call from this number and i let it go to voicemail, which i always do except when i'm driving my car and can't take my eyes off the road to see who is calling.    based on my reading of other postings, i'd say i've had an almost identical call on my cell -- when i was driving -- and the caller was definitely from a call center oceans away from the united states.

the MO of these spam cell phone callers seems to be that they are trying desperately to get around the US Government's Do Not Call List by claiming they are asking for a specific fake-name person whose phone number (mine!) they have in their database.  they seem to think that, if they say they're calling "Greg so-and-so" at MY cell number and i say i've had this phone number for over 10 years, they can launch into some marketing monologue.  this is exactly what happened that one time i took the call while driving.  the woman, who sounded like she was from India, upon hearing that the phone number she called is not Greg so-and-so's, tried to launch into a scripted sales pitch by saying, "well, can i tell you why i am calling?"

i replied NO! and disconnected the call.

i think they are operating on the assumption that everyone under the age of 40 has a cell phone only and no land line.  they never want the name and the phone number to actually match up, because it could be a violation of "do not call" if they call by my actual name, or if they use no name at all.

they seem to thnk it gives them cover to make up a name they know doesn't go with the number.

Got a call at 11:12am EST.  Spam/telemarketer from some "National Insurance Administration" or something - tried to get my address to mail me an informational packet.  

DO NOT PICK UP.  It's just more tele-spam.

Received call on my work line (US Government) on a Friday at 10:20AM.  Sounded like a cell phone and a woman with an Indian accent asked for someone I didn't know.  When told she had the wrong number she tried to verify the phone number and asked if she could explain the purpose of her call.  I didn't give her the chance and identified this number as work number.  She actually thanked me for "taking the call" and then hung up politely.  Definitely felt like a scam call and probably wanted to verify the number to sell it to other telemarketers.

Have received two calls this week.  One at 10:30 p.m. and another at 3:00 a.m.  How do I stop this??

I am right there with you. They called me last night and woke me up. My heart was pounding thinking omg something bad has happened. Sure seems like somebody can stop these people. Not sure what this is all about. It sure is not normal for people to call this late. If you find out I sure would love to know what they are up to.

Got a call at 12:53AM this morning (4/15).  They asked for me by my full name.  Sounded like some woman was selling something.  I tried to get more info and she hung up.

Caller was calling 2:30 in the morning. Loud music in the background and asked. how are you doing?

My fiance' got a call at 10:47  from this number. I answered the phone. When they asked for him I asked if they knew what time it was. Apologized and then asked for him again. They were calling about lower auto insurance rates in our area and wanted to send us information. I demanded that they remove his number (he was sitting right there). They hung up and then called back 10 minutes later.

i got a call on 4/13 at 1:12 AM and the at 9:55 PM.  Very annoying when your trying to sleep.  I didn't get up to answer it.

I recvd a call from this number @ 1218 am.  The lady asked for someone, I told her she had the wrong number.  She asked if she could have my name for their records, I told her again, she had the wrong number.  She said ok, and hung up.
I don't ordinarily answer calls from numbers I don't know, but who calls at midnight unless it's an emergency?

I received another call from this number today at 1:20 p.m.

I rec'd a call 12:52p while I was at work from this number 777-889-6098. I don't need some jerk calling me at this time bothering me while I am working. I don't have time for these stupid calls. Didn't leave a message. Must not have anything better to do but call and bother people while they are really working or sleeping at night. Someone needs to put a STOP TO THIS STUPIDITY CALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!................

Got a call from this number this morning. The caller ID said Name Unavailable. We don't pick up numbers we don't know, particularly unknown or unavailable numbers. When Voicemail picked up, there was some weird scrambled noise and then nothing.

Also a call in the middle of the night...1:38AM- no voicemail.

just got a call from this number asking for my name.  when I asked the lady who was calling she hung up.  the time on these calls are important  it was 12:27 am

Received a call from this number, but I didn't answer it. They did not leave a message. I called them back from a secure line and received the "call cannot be completed" message.
