This number is associated with a "Readers Digest" scam (Note the misspelling of Reader's Digest).... you are told that you have won the grand prize of 130K and enclosed with your notice is a check for over $3000.  You call this number and talk to the "oh so sweet" Linda Nicholson... who gushes and goos over your new found fortune....  DO NOT deposit the check .... it is fraudulent and sets you up for federal charges...  not only do you have to pay the bank back the money but you are slapped with Federal charges for fraudulent check cashing...  of course after you cash the check you are supposed to send them some of this money back in order to get your BIG winnings.....  I am encouraging everyone to just call the number on your letter and identify yourself as the FBI... if they hang up on you immediately then you will at least get a good laugh out of it all....   this is what my daughter did and we still laugh about it today....

I have the exact letter and was tempted to deposit first ask questions later... but I googled it first
I dont see how any one would be charged with fraudlanyt charges seeing what a elaborate scheme it is, we did not intentionally try to commit fraud, but I dont see whatthey had to gain telling you to deposit it withot trying to get some money out of you first

I received a letter that looked like it was from Reader's Digest.  It said I should call a customer care representative named Veronica Miller at 788-316-3542.  She said I won $145,000.00. She told me to go ahead and deposit the check that was enclosed for $4,980.00 from Guardian Life Insurance.  She said it was verification that I won the money and that they would be sending me a certified check for $145,000.00.  I believed her and deposit the check this morning into my bank.  The bank did not say anything.  I don't know what to do at this point...

Thanks to all my friends who responded to this telephone number and the bogus Reader's Digest sweepstakes winners.  I received a letter from Lynn Reid in the mail over the weekend to contact Stacy Fisher (Customer Care Rep.) to call and activate the check I received for $3,980.00.  Thanks again for submitting your experiences.

Got the check too!!  It lists  Kenneth Wickham as the Prize Award Administrator and to contact a Linda Nickolson at the prize distribution department. The check seems to be issued under AIG Annuity Insurance Company out of Texas.  Though the postal stamp on the front shows from Canada and no return address.

Rec'd a letter and a check referencing this phone #. Turns out to be a scam using Reader's Digest sweepstakes as it's lure. "Agent" name is John Belcher. A women with a heavy accent answered the phone.
Beware, don't fall for this scam. Google Reader's Digest Sweepstakes scam and you'll see what I mean.
