I did not receive a call but a letter telling me that I won $450K along with a check for $4,950 which looks real. What happens if I cash the check?

I received a letter from this company as well saying I won 450,000, which seemed strange to me because I didn't remember signing up for any sort of lottery. Enclosed was also a check for 4,950.00, and it asked for me to contact a representative before I cashed the check.

The actual check is a legitimate check from CitiBank and Lazard Freres & Co. LLC, but the company it is coming from is a complete and total scam. It's not a real lottery.

They tell you to pay the taxes for it up front simply so they get your money, and you never receive the 450,000. Therefore, DO NOT cash the check and do not think it is real if you receive a letter, or a check from this company. It is a total and complete scam.

I received a letter also & a check that looks legit.  However, I'm smart enough to check the internet about the number.  If you look at ING DIRECT... it's just a picture that got put onto a Word Document rather the actual paper with ING DIRECT already on there.  It is a scam.  Don't even bother calling the number.  SHRED the letter & the check.

This is a scam! I also received a letter and contacted Lazard Feres co and they confirmed that its a scam. Do not deposit or cash these checks.

ITS A SCAM!!! THEY ACT LIKE YOUR A SECOND PRIZE WINNER AND YOU ITS SAYS YOU WIN 45,000,000!
