Called regarding "my Mortgage". East Indian sounding gentleman said he would give me a 2% mortgage and that I was paying 5%.

I don't have a mortgage, sounds like a scam to me. Cold calling for mortgages??????

The guy sounded east Indian. he called me again yesterday, when I told him I wasn't interested he started babbling about not trying to sell me a mortgage. I interrupted him and told him I don't care, I told you I am not interested and not to call my number again. I than hung up on him. I was visiting my Mother at the time. She is on the do not call list,but her number is listed in the phone book. He knows my surname so he has to be getting it from the phone book.

Are you listed in the phone book? Some of these outfits call people from the phone book.  That's why I had my phone number unlisted.

i got a call from this number as well, however i ended up cutting down my mortgage payments by 30%! looks like they are an offshore call center working for big names here in Canada.

I got a call today from this number trying to convince me to switch my mortgage to their lender, saying that I would save money. Both reps had indian accent one less than the other. I am wiling to play the game and see what exactly they want. I am expecting it is a scam, but I will be very straight forward and tell them do not call me again or I will call the police.

Called at 6:30pm but did not answer. Good thing, 778 is a BC cel phone number company usually. Doubt it was a cel phone, more like a redirect from INDIA to a call center here that pushed out that number so you think it is a friend calling. We trust 778 numbers as non business like so we would answer it more often than not. This time they have caught on to our ways and are using this number to trick us into answering. Whatever happens, there is gonna be a two month switch over where you might have to pay double or your mortgage will penalize you for leaving that bank. These guys are not gonna pay your old mortgage off so be carefully. Lower your rates is a scam especially if they ask for a credit card number. Internet Fraud is not going away.

And I just wanted to add that when I was talking with the guy on the phone his accent sounded east indian. and I said I don't understand you could I speak to someone else, and it was and immediate response from his "supervisor"

When you spoke to him did he have an accent & did he sound east indian ?

I also tried calling them back 3 times but all I got was an answering machine that said all representatives are busy. I tried calling them back to tell them that if they do it one more time I will contact the police.

I just had a chat with a caller from this number who claimed the company was called ADC Mortgage, and like Agnes, told me that he had found my number from Yellow Pages?!  I asked for an email address to follow up with his supervisor, as I am on a no-call list, and he passed his phone to another "operator" who asked "what's the problem?" I demanded contact information to follow up about the call, and the phone was passed to another "operator" who told me he was sorry, and just to "forget about it."  He then provided an email address of rydhms@yahoo.com (spelled it out), but when I asked if this was a customer service email he said he was sorry and wanted to avoid any legal troubles.  One final note, I am quite sure that the three men that I spoke two were huddled together around a cell phone, as my call was not placed on hold or transferred.

This guy also called my mother and she found it very disturbing. His approach, for whatever he trying to do, is not ethical.

This guy is a scammer. he called me and asked about my mortgage rate and to supposedly cut down 30% of it. and when i asked why his number was 778 and not 604 he said it was an indirect line. and then i asked how you got my number and he said yellow pages. but yellow pages is for business' !

I got 5 calls from this number!
Want to know about my mortgage interest rate, supposedly will give me less percentage if I tell him what is my interest rate now. Told him to send me in the mail.
