Autodialed bu***hit, just another advanced phishing attempt by ilegitemate a**holes who didn't get enough love from their mothers. Problem with this s**t nowadays though is that the number is likely spoofed (eg - trix box behind a proxy, etc). So even if you take it to law enforcement, it won't get you anywhere. F***in tards.

I got a call at 11:40am MST this morning.
I looked at the area code and ignored it. No voicemail so I googled it.
Glad I did not answer.

Just received a call that I am a valued walmart customer and to receive $3000 valued travel dollars to please press 1.

I as well had this call, I work for Canadian Tire and we have a notice alerting us to this.  It's not anyone from our company, merely another scam (as you can plainly see) :)  Didn't answer it, but was suspicious of the phone number, hence the lookup!

Just got it, didn't answer.

I've received the same call twice in the last few days. Ignored it and I'm glad I did. However, I worry about those who do press 1.

I just received a call from this number and of course I didn't answer because I don't recognize the number. I called back to find out what company was mass marketing and a recorded message stated that "The number you have reached IS NOT IN SERVICE, please check the number and try your call again" - This sounds like the Telus voice messaging centre.  I wish this companies were ban from mass marketing or marketing, period. The powers that be ...PLEASE, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

This number called me and a robo voice said

"As a valued Roger's customer you are intitled to 3000 travel dollars. Press 1 to accept."

I declined and hung up on the scamming bastards....

hey, i just received a call from this number. It was a message from rogers telling me that because i was a "valued customer", i had a chance to win a free trip. I pressed one and a guy, who said he was from cancun, said that I won a trip for $600.00, when it really costs $3000.00. I predented that i was interested and when he asked for my creidt card number, I said yeah....its 8283....#@*& You!!.   And he hung up.  haha.  This is a SCAM people. Do Not give them your Credit Information!!!

I have received two calls from the number in the past couple of days. I know it's a Vancouver number but I didn't recognize it, and I did not answer. No message was left. Thanks for the heads up. I will give them a "scammers" caller ID for next time.

I barely answer my cell anymore - I mean if a number comes up that isn't one listed in my contacts it doesn't get answered - period. I don't care if it's my parents calling me or God himself. All the cell phone providers obviously sell your phone number. They are all useless. To ANY company who creates a white list/black list so I can ban numbers permanently (makes my phone NOT ring), I will flock to you and stand in line like the iPhone-tards who I see waiting to take back their precious iPhone4 phones that drop calls left right and center...

got a call from this number yet again.  the first time they wanted me to press 1 as I won something, but I hung up.  this time it was a missed call.  how can we block them for calling our numbers?

got this call too today. didn't leave a message. it called at 11am Mountain time. wtf. scammers. even cell numbers aren't safe anymore.

I'm on the National do not call list and they still called my number.  This is likely a police matter, nothing a service provider can control.  Hopefully they will cooperate, though.

Received call at 9:00 on the nose.  Didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number and didn't want to pay for a TM call on my cell phone.  Called it back from my home line and got a recording that the call can't go through as dialed.  I'm in Vancouver and 778 prefix is for Vancouver, so anything legitimate should have gone through.  Called again to see if I might not have connected properly and the number automatically went to a long beep with no recording.

Ugh... these people never quit.  Got the same zombie autodialer on my cellphone which let me know since I was a Rogers customer I had won... now wait for it... 3,000 travel dollars.  I pressed "1" and asked where they were calling from. The woman with the Caribbean accent informed me she was calling from "Cancun, Mexico." Yeah right - the area code and number are from Port Alberni, BC.  I love how these people move around: first, Tennessee, then Ontario and now BC!

I hung up and called Rogers customer service... after a five-minute wait was told that this indeed was "a huge scam." Well, whaddaya know? I worry about those Rogers customers who aren't so sophisticated and may be scammed.

got one today too.. for all you guys complaining about the phone comp. not doing anything: they legally cannot do anything! You have to go through the National Do Not Call List... At least this is how it is in Canada..... My goodness! Get your facts straight!

Scumbags indeed! Whenever I get a strange phone# on my display (thank God for call display!) I don't answer it. They don't leave a v-msg. I have an easy and foolproof way (I WILL NOT describe it here since those jerks may read it) and it blocks them forever, forcing them to spend money to buy new phone numbers! HA!HA!

I got this today too but ignored it. I'm new to Canada and have never experienced all these telemarketing/spam phone calls before. We get at least one a day and it's driving me nuts! What is the point of calling if they just hang up? I don't understand the point of the scam?

Left a message half way through the recording... "all it said was "Press1" and then dead air, and end of message.
