Got this phone call twice on the same day, hang up once and they will call back again a couple of hours later. Rather than hanging up on the second call, I played ignorant and went along with their crap and ended telling them in the end that the house didn't even have a computer. Answering the phone and talking with the troll also doesn't take you off their call list and they will eventually send you another automated call from their list of phone numbers taken from like phone book probably.

Caller ID says Brit Columbia 778-650-5245, if you answer there's a ping and recorded female voice says 'good-bye', no message is left if you don't answer.  Thanks to this site & its commenters for the heads-up about not calling the number back.

Called at 5:30 in the morning.  Voice with an Indian accent said he was from support and calling about my "new computer."  I told him "Don't ever call this number again." -- for all the good that's going to do.

Got a call same evening as "Martin"...same guy, same accent...same spiel...."we have received reports of errors with your computer...please turn it on and we will fix your boot sequence"....lol lame crap as always...i lied, because im a pc tech, i know what my computer is doing and what is and isnt wrong with it..i told them to take me off the list...if they call again, i will be rude, yet only stern...third time and ill verbally murder the rep lol...either way, people dont always know what their doing is a scam or a fraud..i try to give the benefit of the doubt the first time i get a call from someone like this...the rep is just trying to make a living and i tell them "i know your just doin your job, but trust me i dont want any more calls from your company ever again no matter what, take me off your call list now, and i better now hear from you again, thanks" then i hang up...dont let them read their speech, it is designed to cut you off, answer questions with b.s answers in advance of you asking, and basically confuse and distract you from the fact that they are simply cold calling hoping to get someone who honestly believes them...either way...they suck we rock, keep up the forums for naughty telemarketers and scammers, cheers folks.

According to my Caller ID, I also just received a call from  "British Columbi   778-650-5245" I had the same experience of nobody on the other end, a ping and female voice message saying "Goodbye".

This is the first call and I added call block after reading that so many have had the same experience.

As with "Zerotolerance" post of Feb 18 2014, when I pickup nobody is on the other end and then after several seconds there is single ping sound and female recorded message says "Goodbye".   That's it.

Caller ID says   "British Columb   778-650-5245"

Have been receiving this call once or twice a day for past 3 or 4 days.

I recognized a number that my wife told me that she had gotten many calls from and that she had hung up as soon as they started talking. I decided to listen to what the message was, and if it was a person, to play with them. A man with an "Indy" accent like Apu from the Simpsons, stated he was from "Windows" and was calling to tell me that my computer is sending him a bunch of error messages. I told him that it sounded serious and asked him if he is saying that someone has hacked into my computer and downloaded a bunch of bad stuff. He said I don't know if somebody hacked into your computer but we are getting a bunch of error messages. Then he asked this is Martin right. I said no then he asked if anybody in my family was named Martin I said no The man says turn on your computer. Instead of turning my computer on I waited a couple minutes and told him that it was on and he told me press the Windows key and the R key. I knew this would bring up the run command so I just told him that I saw a window that said "run" at the top of it. Then told me to type "eventvwr", which really would have brought up significant events that Windows had flagged. But windows wouldn't call you if your operating system reported errors to windows. Windows just use it for updates and to improve newer
operating systems. I figured the guy was reading from a script so I decided to mess with him. I told him that a pop-up came up and told me that windows needed to update. I played it off as it was updating and he kept telling me to minimize everything and to press the windows and R key. I was playing off the time it takes to update I asked him if his name was Martin and he said yes. Even somebody who is not computer savvy knows that you can't do anything when windows is updating. After evidence supported that he is reading from a script, I called him out on it and I told him windows doesn't call people with errors and that I don't even use Windows operating system, but Linux instead and I build my own computers. I told him that I just wanted to waste his time and that his name isn't Martin cuz he asked for Martin. Wasting no more time, he hung up on me. The man said he had called from Columbus Ohio. It reminds me of those stockbrokers that try to sell you something your not to make a profit from. Like they show you that the errors that Windows logs and makes people believe that your computer does have multiple problems and they try to get you to buy some software to fix it or clean it up. I wonder if the man was taken advantage of by his employer and he's just doing what he has to for a job. I don't think that "please take my name off the list and don't call again" is good enough but I do believe that wasting their time is enough to flag you because he could've made two sales in the time that I wasted. My name is not Martin.
