they have access to your number and "all the phone numbers they use to call you". because they are the people working at the out of country call center that your phone, tv, or internet, support system they use giving them the access to our phone numbers. they can pick a number that is not in use and use it to call you, butt always making it look like it is a local call, but hard to notify the phone company, tv company, or the internet company because it is the scammers who will be picking up the phone when you put in a complaint, and will not pass on the info to the higher ups, have to go in person to those company's or to the goverment

Now they're dialing cell phones too.
I hung up when I hear that line ""this is amy I want to award you with a free cruise to the Bahamas".

Just received a call from this number, didn't look before answering! It was an automated recording that started with, "Congratulations! You have just won a chance to win a cruise!" Seriously?!?!

They called, 3pm today (may/4/2014).
one ring only, listed as missed call.
no voice mail left.
I assume they hope i'll return the call.
Added to my spam number list that has a silent ringtone so i will know to ignore future calls.
I see the spammers are getting smart and using localized numbers so we have no quick way to know its a spam call.
I'm sort of suspecting they are spoofing the numbers somehow cause i got one call one time that had a space in the number ( +60 4-727 7524)
i'm in BC so a 604 area code number would be proper. I dough fido messed up the number.

Travel scam with an India call center doing the bs. Anything for a buck with them. Don't press 9 to "remove" from their list, it just confirms to them the number is valid and more calls for other "stuff" will ensue.
