Academy One is a registered company with thousands of users. They call to book appointments so they can give an assessment and display the program to see if the families are interested. The presentation is free and of a lot of value.

Will Not STOP CALLING MY RESIDENT NUMBER- SOMEONE PLEASE PUT A STOP TO THIS- what can we do?  Please help!

A woman called me said I was picked to get free tutoring from the academy of learning. Wanted to know how many school aged children and my name. Then she wanted to put me through to her manager. I then hung up.

They ask for me or my wife by name, yet I dont know any of their personal details - how fair is that? What scum gave them or sold them my number? One which undoubtedly has privacy guidelines that they would never ever never do such a thing ... except, they do, and their rogue scum employees do.

When I say the husband/wife are not home, they quickly say they will call back. I manage to sneak in you is calling, and they say academy of learning, and then quickly hang up, before I can uttter completely justified expletives about their mother and their very existence.

Note to self: remember the number, and make sure I tell them verbally insulting things before they have a chance to hang up. Since our crack governments cant stop this, at least I can swear at them, and that will make me feel better.

Phone just rang with this number. Googled here to confirm I was likely dealing with scum, and, I was greeted with a dial tone.

You know, it strikes me, that this caller, along with the ones wanting to clean my ducts, offer me free cruises, consolidate my credit, blah, blah, blah, need to have the phone turned into a per call mechanism, not a flat charge per month, where THEY have unlimited reign to annoy unlimited amounts of citizens of the world. This has gotta stop. and. me changing my phone number is not the solution (which BTW I give to no-one [and all of whom 'covet' my privacy, yeah right])

The original caller has been traced to an exchange in Pakistan and the callers often slip into their native language of Farsi by mistake. This is clearly a ripoff that is being used to fund terrorism. It is a form of terrorism itself (economic). This is what the NSA and CSEC should be concentrating their efforts on stopping, rather than wasting huge amounts of resources spying on domestic citizens within Western Nations. Where's the Law when it's really needed? Sucking itself in the corners of Ivory Towers!

We received the three calls from this number. The fellow named him self as Ali, calling from USA. He praised the Canadian Government is very much serious to upgrade the computer skills, teach French languages and Quran with Hadees. This will be free of cost and we (their company) will be paid by Ministry of Education.

I interrupted him three times but he is increasing the tone (Like a typical Fraudia) if you know computer, then why not french, in last atleast u must not say no to Quran.
I asked him who authorized you to ask me what I should and what not? Then he closed the phone, I must say whoever this Ali is, must go to hell.
Finally I forwarded his number to Do not Call list and they said in 10 days we will take full care. But these peoples have no morals and continuously calling sometime Unknown, Private Caller.

I just got call from this number & the lady said that she was from Academyone.ca.
I asked her how she got my number, she said by postal code.
I looked up academyone.ca & called their main number & asked if someone from their school is calling people from a 778 number, they said yes.
I guess this is just a recruitment process.

That is the code put out by the automatic dialer and indicates you were called on 5/26 at 17:11:24 (5:11 pm and 24 seconds) and were call 00050 in the sequence.

over acting ? I don't see anyone here on a stage. The word you are looking for is overreacting . However, you tell us to shut up.....well, that's not going to happen. This is a user generated database of unknown numbers. Evidence points to this company being one who ignores the telemarketing laws. You say it won't help, but informing people of their rights when it comes to these calls helps to stop the unwanted calls.

I'm not protecting this "AcademyOne Learning", but come to think of it, we're over acting. If you don't like this FREE TUTORIAL SERVICES that they're actually doing as a part of their SUPPORT PROGRAM, just do not react! Your reactions won't help. And also, stop being hypocrite! To summarize things up, if you don't have anything good to say, just shut up. Alright?

If its so great, why do they break the laws calling people? I would *NOT* use any outfit that blatently broke calling laws since it does not set a good example for kids!  However it does give me a bad example to teach and show my kids and my grandchildren  about who breaks the laws and what a bad example looks like.. thats the only lesson made here!

Since no one singing their praises has bothered to give a link to the caller OR their BBB record, I looked and found the information below.  Again, since no one posting in favor of this company cares enough to post COMPLETE information, this may or may not be the company in question.  However, if it is, even though the BBB gives a C+ rating, reading the information would certainly make me think twice before using them.
