Those fooled by the "free cruise" scammers will be left waiting at the dock for a ship that never comes, while the scammers sail away with their credit card information!

"Congratulations! You've won a free cruise..." .
Unfortunately, the downstairs phone doesn't have caller ID and my husband was expecting a call, otherwise we wouldn't have picked it up. Now we're getting calls every day at the same time, either from this number or from 778-807-9595.

Please don't blame The CRTC too much. It takes money to keep up with all the emerging technologies. The present Federal Gov't does not do enough.
"Due to caller ID spoofing (fake) you're caller could be anywhere in the world. Foreign criminals use computers, high speed internet, voip, & a few dollars in software. Very difficult for US or Canadian authorities to arrest someone in Asia."
If you can hide your name and number with *67, what do you think the telemarketers can do with their budgets that are larger than The CRTC.
Solly.

Is the beginning of the message as I hung up. Very annoying call on a Saturday morning. It's always the same message starting with the same sentence. What a waste of time.

Had a call from this # this morning and let the ans machine take it. Seems they didn't have a purpose to call as they left no message. Didn't seem to care whether we are on the do not call list either... How long until we can purchase land line phones with the ability to block calls? Seems to me they would get the job done a lot faster than relying on DO NOT CALL lists and CRTC rulings.

This is a frequent caller and never leaves a message? It is not uncommon to receive 2 calls / day on weekends.

They just want to know when you are home so they can sell your number to another company.

I got a call from this number at 9AM on a Saturday. Can anyone tell me what the purpose of phoning someone on a weekend and not speaking for 10 seconds and then hanging up?

Called at 10:22 EDT. I also do not know why the wonderful C.R.T.C. and all their power doesn't do a damn thing to stop these yokels. Put the phone company on notice. Either "Shape up or Ship Out"as
the saying goes.

This number just called me here in Calgary. No caller Id, so I left it to go to voicemail. No message was left. Looks like another one I'll add to my blocked list.

Why is this number listed as being from BC and hasn't been shutdown by the authorities and/or the relevant phone provider?

oooppps...no business and no pleasure..as I let my answering machine to answer this kind of number 1-778-807-9480 as it appeared on my phone screen. Call again next time my answering machine would love answering calls like these regardless with or without human operating the calls.
