I got one of the same letters but when I call the number they say: congratulations I won a lady named Mary and a guy name Patrick Douglas keep telling me that. They say "if you want to believe you can, good things come to good people". The other s*** they say is real believable. I would like to know if the same thing happened to you.

I definitely know this is a scam but i really want to know what they stand to gain. not that i believe that they will pay me the $250,000.00 they claimed i owned but how do they intend to defraud me? It appears the check is fake and why do they wasted their time and resources in sending out something they know is fake. am really pissed and wonder how they got my name and address to send this fake check to me. question is what happens if the check is real and i cash it and bolt away? any legal implication

I recieved the same letter saying that I won a sweepstakes of North America, and I'm entiltled $250,000 but I have to pay taxes to Canada. The amount of taxes owed is $3,810.00. Whoever created the scam need to go back to school needs to take some English classes and typing classes.  Well I can truely say I didn't fall for this scheme. I went to the better business bureau and looked for the company and the tax agent. These business where not found, so I created a report with them. I also checked the Canada yellow pages and no businesses was listed or the tax agent. Also, there is no city called St John Niagara Falls. The city or state is Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada. I recieved my letter about the same time with the other blog up above. It seems like this person might  be doing a money laundering scheme. I could not get over why wouldn't a company just take the money out of $250,000 . The check that they sent was from a Financial company in Florida and it was not found at all. What really got me, was sending the so called tax payment through a moneygram. I process moneygrams everyday at my job. I believe if you have common sense and  read the letter what it is worth you could have never falled for this one if you never entered a sweeptakes yourself.

I received a letter saying I won a sweeptakes and they sent me a check for 4620.00.  I called and the prick on the phone called me a dumb american and hung up I kept calling and finally he told me that I needed to deposit the check and send him 3000 and he will send me the 200000.  WHAT A DICK.  I hate these F'in scams.  I've been reading some of these and I cant believe how some people falls for this.  I believe Oprah did a show on this and these people been doing this for years
