I received the same letter. Thanks to you guys, before I go further on this.
I really don't understand that they can do this...

I also just received this letter with Wal-mart, and Target on it. I knew it was a scam but had to research it just in case. I have been out of work for over a year and have 4 children, I really could have used this money. I researched it on line and found this site by putting in the number they told me to call. I am so glad I did.

my daughter received the letter and check today, but it was from "allstate" and they included in the letter that it was a contest sponsored by retailers such as Target, Wal-Mart, Sears, Macy's, Home depot.  i'm sure these retailers would not be happy to hear this!  When i called the number on the letter (amanda fuller was the claim agent's name) i asked what the contest was for.  she asked how old my daughter was.  i told her and she said she would put me on hold and have someone else speak to me.  the next thing i knew, she had hung up on me.  someone needs to find these people and make sure they don't take advantage of an innocent person.

The sad part was that i was layed off and i had to move back in with my mom and dad then my dad got layed off so now we both are not working. so i thought this was a blessing. when i went to the bank to cash the so real looking check the bank told me that it was a scam.

I was so heart brokin. This money could of helped my family so much. But im so glad that the bank teller to me that it was a scam cause i could of lost everything i had left.

All i can say is God Bless Lean Roberts and i hope she really sees whats shes doing to all of use. lets hope she stops.

yeah this check is a SCAM, I knew it from the start ... I didnt fall for it but went along and caught her and she immediately hung up. It's as said earlier, they take that $1000.00 from you as soon as you can deposit that check into your account ... what a scam =[

Amica Insurance. They sent a check for 4960.00 and said I won 250K. The so called check is for taxes to be paid to a Canada firm. How they get money from you is that the taxes are supposed to be 3960. So you are expected to put the check in your bank account and buy a money order o 1K and send to them. Ofcourse the money order is good because your bank teller just made it out. The banks can't tell it's NOT real until it's not paid. THE CHECK LOOKS REAL! Tell everyone you know about this scam!!!
