got a letter in the mail giving me this #...eric and his wife karen want 2 buy my house...how and where did he find my name...what makes him think this house is 4 sale

I just checked the address and it comes back to a church! How disrespectful!

Hey, just to let you know. That address on the letter is actually leading to a self-storage facility in east Edmonton. This scam has also been broadcasted on the local news,

My elderly father received the same letter from "Eric" and wife "Karen" address 11324 - 97 street #101.  The area is central Edmonton.

Anyone contacted the police?

I got it in my mailbox in old strathcona, not addressed to anyone specific. We don't own the house and it's being torn down next month so.....
There are plenty of similar houses for sale in the area so it seems a little fishy.

We just got the letter a few days ago and we're in the southside by the University

received same letter today, in unsealed envelope addressed to my wife

I got the same letter today, I used to live at my-inlaws and thats the address that was on the card with my name. I blocked my number and called and someone named Paul answered and said that they were investers looking to buy houses. I asked how he got my information and he said they get them from public records. I think its time to report to the police

We got the same letter in the mail today and we are on the Northeast side of town. Looks like they are moving around town now. Going to report to police as well.

We got one today addressed to my wife.  Her first name is frequently mis-spelled but the letter got it right.  Not sure what the deal is but when I read the letter, I detected the smell of scam.  I will report it to the police and update on the outcome.

same thing ... I called an got an answering service who said Eric would call me back within two business days.  I asked what company he worked for and the answering service person said he didn't work for anyone.  She asked me the address of the house my call was regarding (my house) and I said I didn't want to indicate that to her and I discuss it when Eric called back.  It's been two business days and he hasn't called.  And, the letter that was sent to us was not the name of one of the owners of our house, rather a relative who sometimes stays with us.  So, I'm thinking someone was snooping through our garbage!!!  

Is this happening throughout the city or just in a certain area.  We live just west of Southgate ...

received the exact same letter, addressed to just my wife who is not listed in the phone book... also convinced this is a scam... return address is the same address... 101, 11324 - 97 st., edmonton, ab.

...received suspicious handwritten note in personal house mailbox in south Edmonton, Canada. Looking at note carefully, it is a laser copy that looks to be handwritten.

Note says plainly that 'Eric' would like to buy my house as his 'wife' and him is interested in purchasing the place. The house has long term owners and is not listed or interested in selling. The note asks to get in touch with above number. Have not tried the number, considering calling from a payphone to see where it leads.

Googled the number, checked local BBB with no results. Convinced that this is some kind of scam.
