They have called me 11 times this past week. I try to call back however, I get the recorded that my phone call can not be completed as dialed....Finally, I answered the phone one afternoon and a lady with a foreign accent said she was calling me due to the fact that her company received several notices that my computer is seriously infected. I asked where she was calling from and she said Austin Texas. I told her I'm a computer designer and software program writer and I can with out any reservation tell you I don't have any "Malware or other viruses that could effect my computer....She hung up....I was hoping she was still on the line and I said, "Yeah, that's what I thought!".........So it looks to be that they are branching out to different avenues. Now, they most likely want you to pay $$$ to clean your computer..............Be cautious.........Their mission is to "clean YOU out!"

Don't be too quick: the number is a generic one that apparently covers a number of other ones.  I received a call at work from this number and ignored it.  To my surprise, there was a voicemail left: from my bank manager.  Not a scammer, not a sales call, but an actual, expected, call.

I was getting calls from this number at least once a week, but usually two to three times.  It appears as though they collect a variety of debts.  I had made a payment to close out my account but somehow the dumbass teller applied it to a completely different person 's account.  The account remained open and just kept increasing in overdraft from banking fees. Since I had changed adresses and banks, they were never able to contact me, and I never thought twice about checking the status of a closed bank account.

To my surprise, I somehow still had the receipt from that deposit sitting in my fatass wallet.  I spoke with an agent at Met, Mark?,  I faxed him AND the bank my receipt explaining that the account on the receipt was incorrect but the balance amount was right if you removed 8 months of banking fees and interest.  After a ridiculous amount of explaining the bank covered the bill.  Not sure who's account my $1700 originally was deposited into, but I'm betting they were pretty choked if the bank took my money back from them to cover part of this.

It is a collection company that either calls and leaves a message without a number or does not leave a message.....  they call from Alberta...... and I live in Ontario......

You clearly have no idea about debt and the laws of Canada.

A debt cannot exists past 7 years. Only debts owed to the government can exist past 7 years.

If you are in debt to some entity, other than the government, you can ignore the debt.
It will gain debt interest and in 7 years the debt must be eliminated with no history.
Debtor would be breaking laws trying [in any effort] to recover such funds.

Your F.I.C.O score will be effected in a negative way but F.I.C.O scores are a simple things to improve.

 If you keep getting phone calls from any collection agency, and the calls are not for you or anyone in your home, tell them that the calls are now harassment, and if they continue calling you will contact Consumer Affairs and lay a harassment complaint. In the United States, threaten to call FCC. In the States they can be fined up to $500 per call, not sure what if any penalties there are in Canada. They called me up to 10-12 times a day for some person, even after being told I did not know him. After threatening to call Consumer Affairs, they called back from a different #. I told them I didn't care what # they used, that one more call from any # and I would report them. I haven't had a call in two and a half months.

Metropolitan Credit - Telus gives these companies your phone number to your mobile when you buy one, and these guys will buy that information from Telus and Rogers and hound you

Metropolitan Credit, automated dialler. They collect on debts over 8 to 12 years ago that appear on your credit history from Equifax and TransUnion. You may write to them to have your phone number taken off their lists, which is supplied to them by Telus or Rogers or whoever you have... in order to have your cell phone taken off the public supply list, you have to contact Rogers and Telus and pay extra for that feature otherwise every 4 months you will end up on a dialler from some other agency, even if you don't owe creit - Telus and Rogers are selling your information to these collection agencies.!!

Call rec'd 3rd time today, when answering machine picks up, get a hang up. Hold down any key and keep hitting it and it is supposed to screw up the robodial...

Metropolitan credit adjusters. Usually when you haven't paid your phone bill they sell off the debt to that company and then they hassle you I've been dealing with it for months

I receive a call from that number every two days on my cell phone. They always call while I'm on my job (and I can't answer my phone). I also received a lot (like 7 calls a day) from a unknown number. When I answer that number it's a recorded message who ask me to stay on line. Twice I tried to wait but after several minutes I hang up cause I don't want to waste my cell phones minutes on that crap.

they never answer when called back.. they say they are from rogers but rogers never heard of them

I just add them as a contact on my cell phone, then I give the silent ring tone, and no vibration. Works for me.

THIS IS A BOGUS PHONE CALL COMING FROM METRO CRED. WE HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. WE DO NOT HAVE ANY OUTSTANDING ACCOUNTS FOR ANY REASON AT ALL. WE WILL BE TURNING THEM INTO THE CANADIAN ANTI FRAUD CENTRE DUE TO THEIR NON-TRUTH TACTICS. THEY DO NOT TELL ANYONE WHY THEY ARE CALLING, ONLY LEAVE A 1-800 PHONE NUMBER. WE BLOCKED THEIR FIRST ATTEMPT TO CALL OUR NUMBER, AND NOW THEY ARE USING THIS BOGUS NUMBER WHICH DOES NOT RING WHEN YOU CALL IT BACK; 780-409-3035. THIS IS CONSIDERED TO BE FRAUD. IF THEY REALLY HAD ANY SORT OF ACCOUNT THAT WAS PAST DUE, THEY WOULD SUBMIT SOMETHING BY CANADA POST MAIL, AND PUT IT IN WRITING. THIS IS WHY WE CONSIDER THIS A BIG  SCAM. SEND A LETTER, PUT IT IN WRITING IF IT IS LEGITIMATE. WHAT A BUNCH OF BALONEY.

Got a call from this number, they put me on hold, and then they asked me what was i calling for? Very intelligent. The guy was very rude to me on the phone, and also very suspicious. I wont be talking to him again

This is a collection agency and they have G.E. Capital and 407 ETR as clients. Never give out any information to these sources unless they fully disclose who they are. As they buy the debt from the client they have little to lose by agressively calling for as long as it takes.

It is a software company called BALANCED FORTUNE Inc. 4584 Jasper Ave. Edmonton Alberta T5J3N2-1-780-235-5603 +011....The owner of the company has a stage name of Jimmi Hendrix. The software is known as Cyberx.us.They have an aggressive telemarketing campaign, and do so under false pretences.
