Been getting calls from same number for the past two weeks

Unfortunately some people just don't realize how poorly they are speaking.  I don't know how many times I've been unable to make out a message, even some outgoing ones (you'd think a pesron would check his/her own message to make sure it's understandable, but I guess some people don't!)

I agree with the earlier comments by Spazz.  Last week I also received a call from a TD Meloche Monnex insurance adjuster (780-498-3554 showed up on call display) about a real accident we had suffered.  When he gave me his own number for future calls, it was not the 780-498-3554 number.

So unless some telemarketer is spoofing the number and using TD Meloche Monnex's outgoing number, calls from this number are from a valid company.  Whether it's for a valid purpose depends on whether you are currently dealing with them for insurance or have an existing relationship with them.

Keep receiving calls from this number but they will not leave a message on my vm and when I pick up they hang up right away.

Received a call from this number; he left a message on the answering machine saying he was calling from TD Meloche in regard to "an accident" this morning; he was looking for a guy named "rodder" or something; the fishy part was that he garbled quickly the return phone number so that it was indecipherable

would you leave a message and garble your phone number so nobody could make it out?

Constantly calling, tired of it.

I'm in Edmonton, AB; just had a call which displayed as 94983554 and they said they were with TD Meloche Monnex.

Answered a call from this number and found only a dial tone.

They have been calling me at least twice a day this week (Vancouver). I answered to flip out at them; a woman introduced herself as an employee of TD Meloche and said she needed to verify my info (SIN, DL#, bank account #s). I hung up; called customer service at TD and reported this and they confirmed that TD does NOT call for personal info via phone -- advised to report it to the RCMP.

We do not carry insurance with TD, therefore, they would have no reason to contact us on a cellular phone.

It is impossible to leave a message at this number, therefore, no one person, or an adjuster can return your call!

I, too, had a call from this number on March 7, 2011. I was unable to answer the call, therefore the caller was directed to my voicemail. The caller neglected to leave a message. I returned the call as soon as I was able, and was surprised to learn that this number is equipped only for outgoing calls. The automated message clearly states that "It is impossible for this subscriber to receive incoming calls as it is equipped for outgoing calls only". That certainly was unusual.

I was astonished to learn that others have experienced this as well.

Thank you to everyone that posts... It is comforting to know that people in similar situations can express their concerns, and alert innocent strangers of the dangers that lurk around every corner.

This number IS for TD Meloche Monnex.

I have to call insurance companies as a part of my job.
I left a message for an adjuster and an another adjuster called me back from this number.

It is not a scam to me, but if they do harass people then I suppose that there might be something more to it.

Yes this number is registered to TD Meloche Monnex and its just an outgoing number so you cannot call back and talk to anyone on this number. This number is used by the TD Insurance Adjusters and such to get in touch with you for inquiries on your claims. To get back to them, call TD Insurance and request that you need your Adjusters extension and toll free number and then you will be able to reach your adjuster. I am going through a vehicle claim and just discovered this information when it happened to me. I called TD and the agent gave me all this information. Hope you all are now happy to know who it is :-) No need to call RCMP etc lol

This is TD insurance. I got a phone call from them today about an accident I witnessed this morning.

Legit call for me too. They new information left in a voice mail for a policy I have with them.

this was a legit call for me.  It was TD Home Insurance calling to go over my claim from a hail storm that hit Calgary a few days ago.

This is an outbound only Number for TD Meloche Monnex, the call I got was from a claims adjuster.

This number has called me once a week consistently for 3 weeks straight on my cell, not home number.  I've never answered but try calling it back and a recorded message comes on saying this number can't receive incoming calls.  I have a mortgage with TD like others have mentioned...pretty annoying...

I have gotten calls from this number on my cell phone, and the calls I received were legitimate.

They actually *are* TD Insurance (previously known as TD Meloche Monnex), unless I have been paying a scam company for nine months :)

It isnt Meloche Monnex, since 0ct. 2008, All numbers being dialed from Meloche has a callback number to a centralized call centre. If you provide your telephone number and information, they will remove you from the list. Ive been with them for years, they may be annoying with their telemarketing, but any requests ever made, they immediately complied. I think this is a scam.

Hmmm...got a call from this number too but I was only the other line and didnt pick up. Im not a client with TD Meloche Monnex either which is strange. Im very skeptical about a number that is only valid for outgoing calls only.

just received the same caller id today i call back but is seem just to be a outgoing line

Called twice today.  Picked up the second time and nothing but silence on the other end.

Keeps calling relentlessly - Once or twice a day everyday for the last 4 days. I don't answer.

I've received a call a day for the past week and a half, but the two times I answered it was silence. Good to know it sounds like a scam.

I have received several calls from this number.  I did ask for an insurance quote recently so it didn't suprise me when I seemed to get a call from TD Meloche...that ain't who these guys are, she was fishing around for details she should have known....report to phonebusters and Telus.

This number has been calling me 4 times a day for the last few days but don't leave a message.
I will continue not to bother answering.

Received a call just now from the number on my Calgary mobile phone (Telus network). I answered and there was no sound on the other end, no click or anything. I'm actually a TD Meloche Monex customer if that makes any differnece, however the only TD office I've delt with is in Calgary (403). Strange.

this number has called 13 times in the last 7 days. Call screen cannot block it, I've tried. Why hasn't someone taken action to get rid of this number entirely? and every number linked to it?
