Auto Seller Network says they are accredited with the BBB for both their USA and Canada offices. They ARE NOT! Here are links to both. Currently (Nov 2009) the USA BBB is a rating of F which is the worst you can get, and Canada's is NR (not rated) due to complains and issues they put them under review...and they will probably receive an F as well.

Canada: http://www.bbb.org/kitchener/business-reviews ... 0#accreditation

USA: http://www.bbb.org/central-northern-western-a ... -az-1000003139/

Do not fall for them. It is such a scam.

Thank you and everyone on this site!  I just got this same call asking for the $375 'deposit' to sell our car, which will be added to the sales price and BTW, we "will receive our full asking price, guaranteed!"  I asked the girl "Roxanne" from Richmond Hill, ON (blocked private number) then what's the purpose of the deposit at all if they make their money by offering the buyer financing?  She didn't have a good answer but said the deposit will allow them to sell our car.  The auto seller network has 'no rating' at BBB both in Ontario and Phoenix.  BBB lists numerous complaints and also no resolution on most.  Smells bad and your posts have helped me to be careful.  Thank you!

These guys found me as well.  The sniff test for this operation comes up with a foul stench... I told them I'd have to check into it first and came up with nothing but "scams".  The same MO was used in my interactions.  When I told them "no" they got really hostile and nasty threatening me.  JUST SAY NO to AUTO SELLER NETWORK!

Had the same experience at least a dozen times in the past year.  It started with Global Auto Registry.  I think they just changed their name to Auto Seller Network but I am still researching this.  GAR was in British Columbia Canada.  I pressed these guys for more info to be e-mailed to me or sent via mail after several unreceived e-mails (yea right).  The problem was I could never get any listed vehicles to show on their site.  I asked how are you going to sell my vehicle if people cant even see it.  I also asked why there are so many hitches in their refund policy.  They can say no or tell me they received it too late or ask for more info then say I'm too late.  I was born yesterday but it wasn't in the dark!  These guys would usually hang up after a few questions.  Google Global Auto Registry and don't give these guys $500.

I just found your post.  I hope you didn't fall for the lies that AutoSeller Network is telling, because I did.  I paid them $375 over a week ago and haven't heard a single thing.  They won't respond to my emails or my phone messages.  This company is a scam, they are all fraudulent liars and they will get what is coming to them.  I hope that this message will at least keep someone else from making the same mistake I did.

HA! these guys crack me up. first off, got a call from a blocked number (no legit company is allowed to blocks their number). guy gets me on the phone and just for fun i decide to listen to what he has to say (i used to work for autotrader so i like to hear people's pitches). tells me that i need to pay 500 bucks and he ensures me my car will sell. goes on with the "we are a bbb accredited business, no risk, blah blah, we ONLY take visa and master card so you know you're protected... (seems odd that he uses this as a selling point). so i tell him, "visa does not protect you from scams, it only protects you from purchases made from lost or stolen cards" so this jack*** goes on to argue that visa protects people from scams. HA! so i give him an example of ebay and ask "so if i'm stupid enough to go on ebay and find a $10,000 watch for $1000 visa will give me my money back?" dude says yes.

decide to listen to his pathetic speech a little more. i ask for an email from him because i'm working and dont have a pen on me and he says: "well i dont have a problem sending you an email, but dont waste my time if you're not interested, i need to get you in asap. *woah woah pushy*

did some research on the net and seems like the company is shady, only been a bbb company for 1 month. seems like they have changed their names over the years. cant wait till the guy calls me back tomorrow because i am going to give him a long lecture of ethics.

PS: selling a car is never easy.advertising is not a guarantee to sell, but at least use a reputable source if you are going to invest money in advertising like local news papers, buy&sell, auto trader or even craigs list.

Got called from unknwown number, chris michaels said he was from autoseller, gave me 1 888 980 1223 number to call and talk to one of the agents, and he guaranteed my car to sell my car for 800 dollars over what i was asking, i was like yeah okay!!, so i played along, he asked for my photo cd of my vehicle!! to be uploaded and be taken off  of autotrader!!! haha, he wanted a physical address and i told him i didn't have one he said nothing i told him i would give him my P.O. Box address!! even though i wouldn't dare give him the right one of either!! haha, he then said, to me who is gonna have a couple of thousand dollars laying around their house to buy your car? We finance then that money to buy your car for a small comission but you get more than what your asking for your car! When he said I knew it was a scam, I was on to him then! Well he then calmed down and tried explaining all again, he basically wanted all my info, car pictures, car taken off auto trader, and all i had to do do is pay him 399 dollars to guarantee me a sold car in days and that a agent would contact me!!! hahahaha Im still waiting on that agent so I can break it off on him!!!! hahahaha bring it on baby!!!!

I have an ad on autotrader.com and was recently contacted by a "David KUmar" with "Auto Seller Network" and I am wondering if this is the same type of scam. They say it is $399 to list your vehicle with them and you can purchase a seller's guarantee for an additional $99. The additional $99 means that you will get your $399 back if the vehicle does not sell in 90 days. They even mention finance companies like Wells Fargo & Bank of America. They say they will find me a "2nd chance buyer" which is someone who has been turned down for a loan in the past. Plus they are giving me $800 over my asking price for the sale. The site looks legitimate and I have been trying to uncover something online to help in my search. No complaints listed with BBB. Yet, I can't find this company listed in the yellow pages for Phoenix, AZ where they claim to have an office. Does anyone have any info on Auto Seller Network?

FRAUD!!!!!!  Storm Phoenix called me, and I was dumb enough to let them charge me the $169 since I was desperate to sell my car.  Needless to say, no buyers ever called me, and Storm is nowhere to be found.  I sent in the refund and never got a response.  The website doesn't exist.

Just left a message on my phone at 1:45pm Arizona time.  All I can say is this forum is great and saved me a bunch of wasted time calling back and getting what I am sure would be the same run around.

Thanks to all who posted here!

Got the call from "Kaylyn" yesterday. I also asked if this is a hoax and she didn't say anything. I asked her to send me the info and she sent and email as mention here by everyone. Sounded to good to be true as told me that i can get 500 more above what i am asking and she already has buyers lined up. I want to report this to some watch dog group as it seems that this is a hoax. Seems like some people got ripped off by this person. I asked them for the process and this is what she said . "Hi, all I need is visa M/C or debit for the $169, the contract faxed
to 250-483-1942, and a few photos emailed to
admin.forsalebyowner-autos@bluetie.com please "

Got a call from "Kaylyn" (She spelled it for me). It was from a blocked number. But the talk was the same as I hear in this forum. She said she had 2 buyers ready for me in my area, that she matched with my car. I asked how it worked, she said people went to them with requirements on what they want, and they did all the work from there. (She even mentioned finance companies...) Sounded too good to be true, and from it looks like, it is.
I ain't buyin it! She did also send me an email. It was from "storm.forsalebyowner@gmail.com". That should tell you right there, that she is being deceptive. No company would solicit you, and send emails from somewhere else. What a scam. Anyhow, steer clear of these folks. Definitely not a real company. Now, I am going to play with them, and send them a bunch of fake info!! Ha.

Scam.  Storm calls from the Private Seller Network & offers a 30 day guarantee to sell car with a $169 fee.  Then you can't get in touch and the guarantee is bogus.  Real ripoff.  Should be arrested.

Exactly the same as Jackie on 18 Dec 2007.
"Storm Phoenix" offered $600 more than asking price on cars.com, said she already has a buyer ready to buy, guaranteed a refund if it doesn't sell.  Directed me to forsalebyowner-autos.com, which looks legitimate.
I asked for more info, and she emailed me a contract and info, offering a guaranteed 30 day money back deal, also looked legitimate.
A quick internet search took me to this web page, and many others saying the same thing.  This must be a scam - if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
I"m glad this web page is out here, thanks for your info, I will steer clear of these people!!

Same as all the others. Said her name was Storm and she was with For Sale By Owner and offered a guaranteed sale of my car for $1,000 over my asking price.  Wanted an up front payment of $169 and said there was a 30 day money back guarantee if my car didn't sell. Sounded too good to be true so I tried to find a website for them and of course nothing. Then I typed in the 3036 phone number she gave me and here I am! The thing that burns me the most is that I even made small talk with her on the phone about Christmas!!

This person called from the Private Seller's Network and claimed her name was Storm Phoenix.  This is a scam.  They take your money and then run.  Do not work with them as they are the bottom dwellers of the world and have no moral code.  These people make me sick!

Called me from a blocked number. Gave me this number to call back. Claimed to be from For Sale By Owner. Offered to charge me $169 to guarantee a sale price of my car for $1000 over my offered price as listed online. Claimed 95% of deals go through w/money back after 30 days.
