Okay, you are obviously an owner/manager or otherwise involved with Cedar Publishing.
Way too obvious that you are......you don't advertise with them.  There are no actual magazines.  No one has ever seen or heard of the magazines (any of them) except for the people and businesses being harassed to advertise or pay for some phoney ad that they never placed.
We have asked near and far, and searched the same and can't find a single copy of any of the magazines anywhere.  The only ones seem to be the ones printed and sent out to the people Cedar Publishing harasses endlessly for money.
Get real jobs, do something other than bother people.  All the good you claim to be doing...go help out at your local soup kitchen, salvation army, thrift store, sweep a sidewalk...pick up garbage...do anything but for goodness sake stop acting like parasites! Stay of the backs of people who work for a living.

The magazine has never seen the light of day, outside of the mailboxes of your victims or as you Cedar Publishing refer to them as 'advertisers'.
The only way off each sad sack magazines call list is to pay Cedar Publishing off....a lot like blackmail!
No one agrees to the stupid ads...and certainly no one 'okays' the ads.  They aren't even faxed as Cedar Publishing, Missing Kids News Magazine, Police News Magazine or John Hart claims they are.  Its all a ruse just to strong arm good money from the hands of people who have honest businesses.
NEVER EVER say the word 'yes' on the phone to these scam artists...they record the call and piece it together afterwards.  The ads are usually contain incorrect info and look like a kid picked the fonts and designed the ad.

We got an invoice for $260 claiming our ad ran on page 9 of the publication.
They sent a publication with the invoice...a sad cheap looking rag with an ad we would never have approved IF we had ever received a proof in the first place which we did not.  The artwork is pitiful, added on top of  a photo taken from our website, complete with  incorrect biz info.  I assured John Hart that we would never approve the ad nor will we be paying for it.  His snotty answer was 'Oh you'll pay for it alright!'

My call to ask to hear the two recorded conversations they claim to have, of the owner of our business approving an ad was redirected from the so-called executive assistant Barb White to a man claiming to be the 'manager' of the company.  John Hart.  He refused to play the recordings to me citing 'privacy act' however, he did admit they record their phone calls without notifying the person they are calling.  He claims its perfectly legal to record phone conversations without the persons knowledge.....which the BBB says it is not, if they do not notify you of it.  BBB in Edmonton advised me to contact the RCMP which I'm going to because this is nothing more than a scam headed up by a belligerent man who thinks he doesn't have to comply with any other businesses practices regarding advertising etc.  He can't & won't email anything and claims to have faxed the proof...we have no record of anything or a fax copy from him to work with.
I don't doubt for a moment that they do have some sort of recording of people.  Its not very hard to piece together a conversation as a  legit recording or slant questions in a way to ensure the scammer gets the answer he wants. John Hart claims to be in this business for 14 yrs.  How is it possible that he has and is getting away with this type of garbage? BBB in Edmonton has 60 complaints about him in the past 3 yrs. Why is he or the Cedar Publishing allowed to keep scamming people?

They called today...Crime Scene Investigation News... Rodger Miles... left me a message.  I called back late this evening and big surprise... Cedar Publishing...

the owner is building a $3,000,000 house. I think we can all see where is money is going. If we all stand up and not pay our invoices and he cant pay his contractor, I wonder if his contractor will harrass him as he harrasses us

Got a call today from Roger Miles. He said he was from CSI, and wanted to talk to the owner about major crimes.  The caller ID was something like Armour Group, can't recall exactly. When I said the owner was out, he asked if there was an alternate contact number. By this time I was seeing plenty of red flags, and told Roger that the owner did indeed have a mobile number, but I could not give it to out because I had no idea who he really was. He finally left the 780-701-3716 number for the owner to call back.

Interesting note... Missing kids is not have a registered charity status due to misuse of funds...

Obviously you've never been scammed if you can say that and/or you're the company itself.
Any legit company doesn't take that risk as they get a confirmed order before printing ANYTHING.  
On legit companies, you usually pay a down payment before the ad goes out.  Hmmm... makes sense doesn't it?  Nobody runs an ad and then says "oh, by the way you owe me now" unless there some kind of scam artists.  Who wants to do business with people like that?

I received a phone call from number 780-701-3728.  It was a very rude woman who asked for the foreman.  Anyone who doesn't know the foreman's name doesn't need to speak with them.  So I asked her what this was in regards to.  She started to say that she could call back at another time.  I told asked her again what the message was in regards to.  She said that it was for missing kids.  I asked her if this was in regards to advertising.  She became hostile and asked who she could speak with.  I told her that I'm the one she would have to speak to and that we were not interested.  She got down right belligerent and began asking if I was the owner of the company.  I told her I wasn't and asked for her name.  I got all her information so that I could warn everyone else in our office.

Do not give out any information to these guys.

This number has called my office several times, always asking to speak to the owner, never leaving a message (because if they don't pronounce the owner's name correctly, I know it's a sales pitch of some kind), and getting rude if I ask who is calling.

A legitimate business would give info, names, numbers etc. so don't be fooled by this guy.  Oh, he called himself Mr. Burgess, but not sure if that's his real name.

A good rule of thumb is to always ask telemarketers to send you some info and don't make a decision until you are absolutely sure it is a legitimate company.

Got a call from this number today 780-701-3728 and it was a woman on the other line who non chalantly said "Can I speak with the boss?",  making it sound as if she knows him well.  He was on the phone and I asked if I could take a message, she said her name was Ella Anderson but wouldn't leave a call back number.  The name on the phone was Stanton En .

this call came in on 15/09/11  the said it is the missing kids news paper from edmonton.  I asked for the name of the owner / president and I was told his name was Moe >>  Naothing else.  I asked for a written letter to be sent to our physicial adress and was told they had a web site.  Any one can have a web site..  They wanted me to buy an add and they would not charge my credit card until I received a copy of the paper.  

I asked how they got our nimber and did not get an answer...

For those who don't know..........

Cedar Publishing contacted me years ago about advertising in a magazine that was suppose to represent the Edmonton Food Bank.  They faxed me a proof but I didn't want to advertise.  Later I received a copy of the magazine and a bill for over 200 dollars.  I refused to pay of course but they have been trying to collect now for over 4 years.  They are tenacious.  There are hundreds of people who have been scammed by this company.  The internet is full of stories that are exactly the same as mine.  I have a call blocker app on my phone and all their numbers are programmed into it.  They will redial incessantly sometimes but I just keep blocking.  DO NOT EVER COMMUNICATE WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!  They think that just listening to their pitch is the equivalent of your consent.  They cannot use collections because there is nothing in writing.  They have their own phone goons do the dirty work.

This is cedar publishing, which will try to sell advertising under Seniors Magazine or phone book.
Over a year later they still call me, from 780 701 3712, now under this new number 780 701 3728. I just have all their numbers under Cedar don't answer, so I don't and when they leave messages I just delete them. Tried to get me to advertise over a year ago I said send me info in an email to I can look at it.They agreed but it never happened, but I did get a proof and bill in the mail, I called them and said I was not interested, they used fowl language and threatened me when I refused to pay. It is now over a year later and I still will not take their calls and have never paid the bill. Even if they send it to a bill collector I will not pay, I have a fax stating I would not do business with them and I never approved the advertising.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE, they will harass you for months, years, and are totally unprofessional.

Caller ID at work brought up "Stanton En" up. The woman who answered didn't know who to ask for at my Company and asked me if I was the boss. Then proceeded to look for the boss. She wouldn't leave a message so I assume it was a telemarketing sale pitch and waste of time. Unfortunately, she said she'd try again tomorrow. At least I'll know to lie so they will stop calling.

Really rude lady asking for money for missing kids, threatened to not be a customer and was appalled that we would treat her rudely lol SCAM for sure.  Called back to a fast busy signal.

after we hung up the first time.. he called back 7 times before we let our hot tempered pit bull employee onto him and he STILL tryed to hang on for over 15 mins trying to scam...

this is a publishing company and they act as if they have known you forever!!  Very annoying and try very hard to get advertising dollars out of you "to help the poor missing children".  This may be legit but I have asked them at least 4 times to remove my number from their calling list as I support local (not even in the same province!!) organizations.

You can't call in on that number because it's the outbound line only. The only way way empire group will ever call you Is once you have spoke to someone in sales and agreed to buy an ad space. Toronto here. Same number same Stanton en on phone. If I don't know you I don't answer and anyone trusting enough to do or give punt over the phone is asking for trouble.

Have received several calls from this number.  When you try to call it back you will only get a busy signal.  I have asked them to fax something over and they do not.  I have asked them not to call again.  We will see what happens.  When I will not transfer the call she gets very rude and angry.

This company ( Cedar publishing) publishes multiple magizines... I have had several encounters over the last few years....  At first I tried out a few different publications, the add was actually placed but generated no interest so I decided not to continue.  they came back with one publication that was geared towards potential clientele business had slowed so I agreed,  I was invoiced for that publication plus two others I had previously declined.  When i called to inquire I was told I had agreed and Paul (salesdouche) had verified, I at this point I informed them I would not be paying the invoices and that all future dealings had to be verified in writing with a purchase order attached.  Then I recieved another invoice and called again and they reluctantly reversed this charge which was verified by this Paul dummy.  A few months later Paul (salesdouche) called and this time I said we're not interested...  His response " whadya mean not interested? you can afford it... why can't you buy my advertising?... how about a personal donation?"  this turned into and argument that I would rather not repeat including him being an idiot for presuming to know a damn thing about business operation and advertising from a phone, and ending with me calling his supervisor back and explaining the error of his ways ( language was much more colorful... my business is oilfeild so i know alot of cool words...)....  They still call, now I answer with " F*ck off, ask Paul why"

nice speach for 399.95$ advertising space in the local edition of missingkidsnews magazine they send you to a nice website about how good they are.
if you search them out you finally get to this website and find out how many different names this company goes by.
