The RBC and City Financial sell your numbers for 10 cents /number

Calling me all the way down near Lethbridge.  Three times today and no one there but I can hear talking in the background.

Received a call from this number tonight but there wasn't anybody on the other end

Just got the call.  Not a coupon book but 59.95 for vacation packages, hotel rooms etc.  Said it wasn't a coupon book.  Said No Thanks.

I have received countless calls from this number. Most often there is no one on the line. If the call comes when I am not at home there is never a message left on my voice mail. I have called this number back and get different responses like they are on the phone and push (I think it is 9) to leave a message and they will return the call. Other times it tells me that the number is not in use and other times it says that it is a number that doesn't receive calls. One time when I answered the call it was an automated call about my credit card. I hung up. Sometimes I get 4 - 5 calls a day from this number. One time I was out of town for 4 days and had 10 - 12 calls from this number. Last night I answered a call from this number and it was someone selling coupon books for $50. Before the male at the other end could say any more, I cut him off by telling him I was not interested and to please remove me from their calling list. Coupon books are common as a fund raiser by different organizations in numerous communities, especially in the larger communities. I have never heard of any organization using an outside source to sell the books. The books are quite often advertised on radio stations, in newspapers, local tv stations etc. They give you a (local) number to call if you are interested and usually sell for $20 - $25. They are also sold in businesses throughout your community. It is very unfortunate that someone would take advantage of organizations/clubs fundraising ideas to scam money for themselves.

The parent company phone number is 888-645-5750.  They sell cupon books for diffrent cities. The have cupons for buy on get a meal free, some times cheap oil changes, free  hair cuts etc.
They are called comunity gift packs.

We've received numerous calls from this number during the day when nobody is home.  Today they called again selling a fundraiser "family fun" coupon book for Medicine Hat.  I told her I wasn't interested and to remove my number from their call list.  She got right snippy saying: how did I know my family wasn't interested and I need to give her a chance!  Really lady?!  I not too politely asked how she knew whether or not I had a family, told her where to put it and hung up.  These frikken telemarketers make me nuts...get a real job!

They call on cell phones as well. I don't get a lot of the calls on my cell phone, but I have had a few.

I received several calls from this number but I have never been home to answer.  When I called the number back the other day it told that it wasn't a valid number. When I called it back today it said that the person I was calling was on the phone and to leave a message at the beep then press pound when finished. I never did either one!

No one answered when I said hello.

Repeat calls from this number.  Caller does not leave a message.

these coupon books are a waste of time and energy, we buy them from the school, and only ever use about 3 coupons. and i wish these idiots that call would at least say hello when they call..

Called 4 times today within 2hrs. and no one on the other end ! Stop this harrassing as the police should

I got one voice message -- nothing on it.....      and several other calls throughout the day.  I was not around to pick up any.  And now, I certainly won't.

I heard this is a Scam as was posted on 103.9 fm website too

Got a call from this number today. It showed up as unknown,so I didn't pick up.

I just got a call from them - claiming to be selling a book of gift certificates that are good for Edmonton area northwest businesses (too bad i live on the south side lol).  There was no way I was giving out my credit card number and she claimed I didn't have to, that I could pay the driver in cash when he showed up at my door with the book.  I wasn't about to give out my address either.  She claims I could call the companies and confirm the legitimacy of the gift certificates and that it is a promotion to get people in the door and that the $59 cost was only to cover the cost of the promotion.  She also said this "coupon" book was being advertised on a local radio station but I don't listen to that one so can't say if she was right or not.
Maybe they do have coupon books, maybe not, but I wasn't going to risk it.

This number calls constantly, every other day, when you answer, there is no one on the line.  Fed up with this.

I live in Sherwood Park, AND I have been getting them also from 780-851-2330.  Apparently, when I used to live in Toronto, Ont. and had my telephone number registered with CRTC on the "do not call list" from annoying telemarketers, those telemarketers started jumping to American "jumping" telephone numbers, meaning that they are actually calling from the States or somewhere else in the world, where the Canadian law does not apply to DO NOT CALL AND DISTURB ME TELEMARKERTERS.  That is how they do.  Because they are calling from outside of the country and forwarded their telemarketing calls to the Edmonton area phone numbers, they cannot get charged.  The solution is to perhaps get a cell phone and not a landline phone or keep blocking their phone numbers with Telus call blocking features..

I will still nonetheless report them to CRTC and see if they can use Canadian taxpayer money to trace these people.

Irritating that they call every single day and no answer when picked up and no answer on our answering machine...  I already went to the DO NOT CALL LIST a long time ago and this is very annoying!

got a call from them at 10:30am on Sat, no one on line, filed a complaint with the CRTC and blocked the number. Absolutely obnoxious. And to you telemarketers I give you a big Trudeau salute, you call once and I block you.

Got a call from this number while not home.  Shows in the call display as "Treasure Chest" with an Edmonton area code.  After reading above, no chance I'm calling them back.

received 2 calls from this # today.  apparently being on a do not call list doesnt apply to this company

Got a call from this number today when I wasn't home. No message left.

This company just called me as well, slightly irritating that a "No thank you, I am not interested" doesn't work any more. She responded with "You don't own a car?"

I said "I own a car but I am not interested in what your selling"
"Oh sir I am not selling anything, i am trying to SAVE YOU MONEY" (condescendingly)

"No thank you"
Then she hung up on me.

Anyways, it was a "1900.00 Savings Gift certificate that is NOT A COUPON" that i would be able to use from March 2013(10 months from now) until March 2014.

I got a call from this number today, missed it as I was in the shower so I called it back. It said this number is not set up to receive calls. That got me to thinking, who or what number would have that?!? Immediately I came online to check the number, as we all know we can find any number over the web lol. Anyways, I saw this and read all posts...unbelievable! I will not be answering if they ever call again. Thank you for the input in all the posts. :-)

WTF quit the crap

Fellow claimed I was a winner of a gift pack, however it would cost me 59.95 for the gift certificates, as advertised on my local radio station.  After telling him no twice and being ignored and he kept trying to sell it to me, I hung up.  Prize winners should never involve a fee.  I question the legitimacy of this claim, and suggest everyone be aware of this agressive caller.

We have been having the same problem. We are also on the DNC list, but with all the telemarkets out there a person just can't keep up. We have dicovered by poking around on our phone that we have a block call feature.It is very handy for blocking the unwanted solicitation calls.
