Received this message twice within last 2 weeks. I recall several years ago another scam like this out of Dorchester. Dorchester is the Nigeria of New England I guess. Are these disposable phones? They have to do something about untraceable numbers, use finger prints or something.

I got the same email msg as well. Someone should get them. It seems from Dorchester area.

Hehe, I just set up a softphone auto dialer script to call number and say "Go F*** yourself" and then the # tone. They are using a basic PC script wich simply records the tones and is triggered to stop using the # tone. It records anything before the tones and is not advanced enough to even recognize whats being recorded before hand. Ah, bored geeks unite!

I received a message that said I had a pending alert for my credit card (but they did not state which credit card). The message said for me to call (781) 218-3586. When I call that number, I get a voice prompt that says to enter my credit card number. At that point, I hung up. When a legitimate organization calls you regarding any of your credit cards or bank accounts, a name of the company and the company's personnel will leave that information on the message as well as when you call their number. This is a scam/fraud - do not put in your credit card number or answer their voice prompt questions.

Got same message. Called my bank and was told they never sent it,and stated also that a request of that type would never come by E-mail. (Scam)
| bigbird 2011-08-20 23:41:58 Unknown |
text msg saying call my credit union I do not belong to one this must be some kind of a scam
| Anthony 2011-08-20 23:30:28 Unknown |
It looks like an email, not a text message. My cell phone shows emails as a picture, not text.
I called the number and it's a computer generated voice asking for my 16-digit credit card number. It states that the service is all computer-based and you cannot speak with customer service at this time. Definitely sounds like a scam.
Intelius phone search shows it as a land line out of Winchester, MA -- a couple of towns over from me. Anyone else from the Boston area?
