Production Mark has now moved to Beverly, MA. Trying to pull the same scam! Claims to be from Peabody Babe Ruth League looking for donations.

978-696-6393 IS ONE OF THE OTHER NUMBERS ASSOCIATED WITH PRODUCTION MARK.

SAME AS MOST OF YOUR CALLS. I ANSWER AND THEY HANG UP.

I suggest you get an air horn from a boating supply store and give the caller a good blast of the horn next time they call

It is not a scam.  It is a legitimate fundraiser.

Been getting calls the past two days from 781-702-5001/5004/5005/5006.   They ask for my wife and when I tell him she is not home he hangs up quickly.   I tried calling the number back but only to get a busy signal.

How can we stop this nnoying caller--same story call OFTEN,when I answer whoever it is hangs up--How to stop it?

I keep getting calls from this number and others listed as Production Mark or Mark Productions or pm services. I'm keeping a log and tracing each call. I've sued these type of callers in the past for harassment and won! This company is next :)

Consumers have to walk something of a tightrope this time of year. Holidays are always an expensive time, yet many want to support charities and worthwhile causes. But the last thing you want to do is have your contribution line the pockets of the solicitor.
In Oregon, Attorney General John Kroger unveiled a list of Oregon's 20 Worst Charities and offered tips to consumers on how to donate wisely.
"In the middle of a recession, it is more important than ever that generous Oregonians make charitable contributions to organizations that help veterans and others who are in need," Kroger said. "It is critical, however, that people donate wisely. Although many charities do great work, some are little more than scams with good-sounding names but that do little to actually help the people they claim to support."
State law requires charities to file periodic financial reports with the Oregon Department of Justice disclosing how much money the organization raised and how the funds were spent. The Department's Charitable Activities Section has identified 20 organizations (see attached) that spent more than 75 percent of the donations they collected on administrative costs and professional fundraising.
While guidelines issued by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) suggest that charitable organizations should spend at least 65 percent of their funds on charitable programs, every charity on the Department of Justice's list devoted less than 25 percent of their expenditures on charitable program activities.
One organization near the top of the list, Shiloh International Ministries, solicits donations to provide medical necessities and other support to needy children, veterans, and homeless persons. According to the most recent financial filings, the California-based nonprofit spent an average of $1,023,215 per year, 96.35 percent of which went to management and fundraising.
Kentucky concerns
Unscrupulous charity solicitations are not just confined to one area of the country. With double-digit unemployment rates in Kentucky, for example, more Kentucky families are in need of a helping hand this holiday season.
Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway says people who give to a charity should give wisely. Unfortunately, he says, there are unscrupulous or even fraudulent charities that prey on the generosity of Kentuckians.
"Every dollar donated to a reputable charity can make a difference in the life of someone who may be struggling to put food on the table or clothe a child," Conway said. "Irresponsible or fraudulent charities not only take advantage of the kindness of hard-working Kentuckians, they deprive those who need our help. Before you decide whether a charity deserves your donation, gather as much information as possible to make sure the charity is not a scam and that your donation reaches someone in need."
Both Kroger and Conway offer these tips for wise holiday giving:
? Donate to charities you know and trust.
? Be cautious of sound-alike charities and solicitors unable to answer questions.
? Always ask what percentage of your dollar goes to the cause.
? Don't be pressured into making a donation.
? Ask if the charity or solicitor is registered with the Office of the Attorney General.

Received a call from this number on 3/30/10. They left no message, but came up as Production Mark.I tried to call back, but the line was busy...

The phone number on my phone was 781-702-5004.  I never answered the call but looked it up to report it.  I hope the Norwood Police can stop them.  I'll be writing to the Atty. General's office too.

I got a call from this number 617-581-6729  telling me the same directions  like putting the check in the envelope and put deposit only on the back.  I said I couldn't donate but he was very persistent.  I called the number back and it was busy.  I noticed people are getting the same call.  I knew something was strange with  this call.  I know times are hard but these scams are getting ridiculous,  no one is going to want to donate anymore.

Got calls from this guy last year, just got another one. Claims to be collecting for the Seahawks (local hockey team). Caller ID says Pro Marketing.

this guy has been calling with no one on the other end, so tonight i started picking up and saying police dept. this line is recorded   maybe this will stop him

Annoying calls from this group again and it is very concerning and bothersome to me and my family. I have two children and this is not righ!  This person will not stop and my phone is on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY!!!

I kept receiving phone calls and and a man asked for donations for police and fire. Being a Reserve Deputy in my County I notified the Police in Norwood, MA and I spoke to an Officer Doherty.  I would strongly suggest notify the Norwood Police Department.  I don't know why I also keep getting phone calls and then hang-ups, however this person now will get his own piece of action.  I hope!  The Atty General will be notified tomorrow.  I hope this is the end of this company know as: Production Marketing Services, 1420 Boston Providence Turnpike, Norwood, MA 02062.  I am sick an tired of fakes preying on the public.  I would suggest that everyone that receives a call contact the Norwood authorities.

The company is Production Marketing Services.  It is located on Route 1 in Norwood, MA.  I have no idea what they want, but they keep calling back with different phone numbers.

Every day we get a call from the above number and another number 5005. As others have said, tried picking up phone. No answer. Cannot phone back.
Although one day I phoned back and it kept ringing and ringing...then went to busy signal.

I just received one and I did not pick up.  Thanks for the heads up.  If this guy is really a scam artist, it would be easy enough to trap him.

I received a call from them asking to leave a check outside on the door for a charity. It sounded phony and I am glad I checked out the number on this site.
