I Googled the phone number that finally came across my cell phone.  I did as someone else suggested and call the 800.981.5084 phone number and waited for someone to pick up.  I am a client of Athena Health via my orthopedic surgeon's office.  Getting UNKNOWN, and finally a real number six times so far. The support person is running a report to see if he can find my number as having been called. Found the issue as an Athena Health client (Doctor's office) attempting to fax.  He intercepted the fax, confirmed that I was, indeed, not Cindy, and said he'd call the client and ask them to re-direct their fax!  I could be napping instead. 8/23/2013

Two calls from fax machine late into the evening.  I tried to connect my fax machine to identify who was calling but was not successful.  Thanks to the listings here I now know the caller, thank you.

Fax machine hell!

Calls about every 2 minutes. No one there. Sounds like a fax.

Can't even leave us alone in TN!  Tried calling their main number but guess what?  No one picks up not even an operator after ours so who is faxing?... THE MAIN NUMBER TO REACH THEM IS: 1-800-981-5084

PLEASE STOP CALLING ME~!!!!!!!

I started getting calls from this fax machine this morning, but from number 207-323-7300.  I faxed a note asking them (nicely) to stop trying to send a fax to my voice line. The calls continued up until I went to lunch.  Upon my return from lunch there were 17 voicemail messages containing those annoying beeps, squeals and grunts of pleasure that fax machines make.  But the calls had stopped.............  Until about 3:00 pm, when the calls started, this time from this number.  I faxed them my same note, but as of 5:00 when our outside lines shut down, the calls continued to come in.

I called the number provided by the lovely and talented Julie, and left a message asking them to please, Please, PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, BUDDHA, MOHAMMED, AND ZOROASTER!!??! To please. Please just stop. I'll find out if this succeeded when I return.  Please keep me in your prayers.

This same incident started today on my phone. I had to leave voice messages for them to stop calling me.

Update: I called 1-800-981-5084, Athena Health, as suggested by a kind person who posted above, and asked politely to speak with someone about getting these calls stopped. I was transferred to a very courteous operator who put a colleague on the line, and he was able to locate my number and remove it from their list. So, there is hope.

Called after being told not to call this number again.

Thank you, Julie! I was digging around and trying to figure out who was calling me and why. Some coworkers suggested that it sounded like a fax machine. Yellow pages didn't yield any results, but a google search of the # brought me here.
The operator was real nice about it (and to my credit, I hope I came off as such myself ^.^ ).

Nice work Julie, you found the cure which I was forced to resort to after receiving calls all morning. I have to agree with the others though as you have to wonder about Athena's ability to maintain the sanctity of medical record confidentiality...........................

I get the same fax from this number every 10 minutes or so. there is a recording if you call back asking you to leave your phone number

Annoying call, no one answers

We.ve had at least 12 calls from this number in the last two hours. When we answer all we hear are beeping sounds. Most  annoying!

Great post Julie, ya I had the same thing happen with one of my users at another office, and it was calling him 13 times a day, and would roll the last 2 digits so that number couldnt be blocked. Just called up Athena and they took care of it.

I had the same problem, a call from AthenaHealth that was an attempted fax.

It's not a telemarketer.  Your number has been mis-dialed in their automated faxing system by accident.  Call them at 800.981.5084 and wait for the "other call" option.  A live person will pick up (during business hours).  Tell them your issue (nicely, please, it's not the operator's fault) and they will remove the call from their system.  When I called, it was removed within an hour.

They won't stop calling me. I've called back and left a message 3 times last week, they call at least 5 times a day. its beyond aggrevating.

I have been getting calls from this number ALL morning...back-to-back-to-back-to-back!!!! It is a darn blasted fax machine and I have no idea have to make it stop. Saw where another poster (mmeighan 29 Jul 2011) states this is Athena Health. Trying to find their number now to prevent someone's confidential/health information from being splattered recklessly.

781-761-1173 says Athena Health on my caller ID.  I called them and they said it must be coming from one of their clinical areas.  They must not be too keen on  patient confidentiality if they just fax without checking the number

could anyone tell me who thery are? it is really bothering!!!!!!!!!!
