Just got a call from this number, I don't pick up from numbers I don't know, so so so annoying. I hate getting calls from these kinds of numbers! They didn't leave a voicemail though?

In MA - phone rang twice and then they hung up.  This has happened several times over the past 3 weeks.

I am in Boston, MA.
NO IDEA how they got my CELL PHONE #.  Total BS.  The lady talking just went on and on so I just hung up.  I think it was a carpet cleaning place I don't even remember.  JERKS!!!

From MA, just got a call from them, answered...nothing. called back and it said they weren't in service? weird..

I got a call from this number, one ring, then nothing. Googled it first, saw this thread. (I never call back the numbers I don't recognize.) Checked the history for that number on my cell, and was surprised to discover that they had called before, about the same time of day (around 3:30PM), and the calls were "aborted" after one ring. It may be a computer-dialed thing that pings for live phone numbers for telemarketers, or something like that. It is probably a good idea not to dial back the numbers you don't recognize. If that is a serious caller, they would leave a message or call back.

Another - creepy - thought: some "old-fashioned" listening devices (bugs installed in telephones) get activated by a phone call. One ring is enough, the call does not need to be picked up. Don't want folks to get paranoid though... ;) This is usually done in home phones (not cell phones), and such spying technology is kind of outdated now.

Same thing just happend to me. It was a missed call , no voicemail and tried calling back also said disconnected.

i just got a call from them too and when i answered it dropped the call, so i called back and it said it was not a working #....LAME!

I just got a call from them. I hate that type of marketing. I am not in the market for carpet cleaning. I own a company that does that here in Marshfield.

I just received call. Same scenerio. MA, two rings hang up. No voice mail. Call back non working number. I am also on no telemarketer phone list

Called Verizon and reported problem. Told them 56 comments on blog with clients having same scenerios. They blocked number from my cell phone and escalated  to security. They were not aware of this recent activity.

I suggest you block number from your cell phone in interim

They've called me twice in the last couple of weeks and it also says the number is not in service when i call back.

I got 2 calls from this number and when I called back, again like others have listed, the phone number is not a working number.  How can that be?  Gee...can I call someone mysteriously and have some non-working phone number show on the Caller ID?  Isn't that deceitful or just plain wrong?

Got called on the 10th and again today.  Same deal as everyone else.  Scumbags!

I got a call from this number at 4:33 PM, but I didn't pick it up.  I'm in Massachusetts.

My boyfriend and I got a call like this on each of our cell phones just 5 minutes apart.  We are T-Mobile customers and will be forwarding this phone number to the Marshfield PD, since one cannot block a phone number with T-Mobile.  Our phone numbers are on the Do Not Call Registry.  This phone number called me before and there was a woman on the other end that asked me if I waned to hire a housekeeper.  I said no and hung up.

Another time (I swear it was the same woman) this phone number called me 3 times and demanded that I renew my subscription to The Boston Globe.  I yelled at her and told her if she ever called me again that I would find her and yell at her and she never called again.  Calls always about 3:30pm.

Did any of you have cases that went through Probate and Family court in Brockton?  Both me and my boyfriend did; maybe some employee/former employee of the court got some phone numbers from the court.

Anyone have Boston Globe subscriptions?  Maybe a rogue employee got the phone numbers from there.

I'm joining the crowd. Got a call today @ 2:56 this afternoon. Same story, phone rang once only. I called the number & got a recording saying number not in service. Nice deal being able to make calls from a number not in service, huh?! This was the second time they called me, the first being on 4/19 @ 6:10 PM. My husband also got a call on his cell on 4/19 @ 6:18 PM. Persistent little buggers. We are in MA & both our numbers are registered with the do not call folks. I called Verizon Wireless (our provider) & was told that customers' numbers are secure with Verizon because of privacy laws and if someone calls your number, they were given it by someone else if not by you directly.

I just got a call from this number.  It rang once and then showed up on my cell (I have Verizon) as a missed call.  I got a call from this number  4 days a go as well.  When I tried calling it back it said that it's not in service.  Strange...

I pressed one to set up an appointment (I wanted to have them come to my house and see who is doing it) but got disconnected when I pressed the number.
It was on my personal cell phone, which is also on the DNC list.

service is out of norfolk, ma. call says it came from stoughton, ma. looking into this
with local p.d.

I've gotten 5 calls from this number in the last few weeks...
