I've gotten a bunch of calls like this, most recently from this number. Call usually goes like this (when I bother): Scambag: "I'm calling from Windows Support center, we've got a virus report from your computer". Me: "oh really? I have multiple computers, which TCP/IP address or hostname are you seeing in your report?" Scambag: general confused nonsense. Me: "well, if you don't know what a TCP/IP hostname is, you're the one that needs technical support". Click. This number appears to be from Junction City, KS, according to http://www.phonedetective.com/PD.aspx?_act=preview&_pho=7852269814 , but I don't want to pay to get the full report. It would be nice to know who we can report this to that could actually take action.

just got a call from this creep - said he was Mike (with my last name) calling from California and thought he would come visit for Christmas. said he talked to me a few months ago and could not believe that I didn't know who he was - scumbag!

I get these calls ALL THE TIME. What the hell is the DO NOT CALL list for?? I've reported, reported, reported. It keeps happening. The law should be:
NO ONE CAN CALL ANYONE UNLESS THEY'RE ASKED TO!!!!!!!!!!!!

1-get your money
2-Install malware on your computer.

Was called on 8 December 2011 at14.15, I never pick up the phone when such numbers are in the display.

I was able to block it using #60.

I asked this clown from "Dell IT support" to clarify who he worked for and he launched into a long speech about the sexual acts he would like to commit on my children.  Is it a Skype number?

Constant calls from this number (or a variant) and from numbers purported to be 999 numbers. I know they're scammers, but there seems to be no way to get them to stop calling (and interrupting work, meals and sleep). Is there no way to identify and prosecute these crooks?

Just got a call from this number.  It is a cell phone in Kansas. Said my computer is badly infected and they have recieved error reports from Dell and can go over them with me if i sign on computer.  Knowing it HAD to be a scam i said I don't want to pay anything it isn't under warranty anymore.  Mine is 5 yrs old and reloaded xp from vista.  No way  Dell would mess with it.  The man (heavy indian accent) said OH NO mam no charge - Dell called and wants me to help fix errors,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, riggghhhhhhhhttttt

How did he knew Our phone number ? and How did he knew we were Russian ?

He could have herd my parents and recognize the language but there's many languages that sounds like Russian.

So That Comes to a point that He had the Information From Somewhere!

and No Matter that I already told them many times,
they Don't always picks attention to trust  the Internet's Buttons And messages Popping Out...

So my theory Is that Some How This Individual Is Hacking In The Information Before he Makes the Call, and Probably Some one Else Is Giving him a List Or he pay's an Other Internet Hacker To provide the Information Because of what I heard This Individual Is not Smart Enough To Acquire This Data.

What I would Suggest is to protect your computer from Hackers by Controlling Your Concupiscence And Not Trust Everything The computer Tells you.

Also...  My caller ID said the phone call was from Junction City, KS

received phone call from 1-785-226-9814 saying they were from Windows International and someone was trying to hack into my computer.  Very thick Indian accent.  Asked how he got my number and he said something about International phone registry.

I just got a call from the moron.  I told him he was full of s***, he didn't know what that meant.  I finally hung up on him.  He couldn't give me any information at all.  I asked him what my email address was that these messages were coming from, I asked him for a number so I could call Microsoft at a better time, I asked him if he seriously thought I was going to allow him access to be computer.  What a ding dong!

I just received a phone call from this guy.  It's the same story as everyone else, he's working for Windows International, that I have error messages coming up on his computer. He told me he was calling from California. I was to go to my computer and turn it on, but I told him I didn't have time right now that I was on my way out the door.  I told him I have a gentleman that is an IT Specialist that lives in the house, and could he please tell me the steps, so he could do it.  This guy said it could only be done by him.  When he said that, I got very Suspecious that this whole thing was a scam. I then hung up on him.  After I hung up I started investigating the phone #, and that's when I found this site.  Don't let this guy scam you.  He tries to be a good talker with a deep accent that is hard to understand at times.  Be careful.

Got a call today. this is the third time. My wife answered. When asked which windows version is installed in our computer, the guy stumbled. Asked few other questions about the our system which he could not answer. A person claiming himself to be aware of viruses in my pc, including the owners phone number, doesn't know the answers to simple info about my sustem. Yelled at the guy. Hopefully he will give up and never call again(?)

This is my plan as well.. I was caught off guard today when they called and couldn't think of anything creative but next time I definitely will.. I think pretending to cry might be pretty jokes!

Just got off the phone with this idiot who has called me before about 4 months ago. Its the same story as everyone else is saying. I'm really surprised this person hasn't blocked their number.. it goes to show you how silly the entire operation really is. I'm going to look in to submiting the number to the police after I post this.

Don't fall for these rediculous calls.. Microsoft is NEVER going to call you regardling anything to do with your computer espeically anything that you're doing on the internet. Your internet service provider will call you if there is ever a problem, and they will know your name and information.

Hi, I live in CA. This is a total SCAM! These guys call all the time, sometimes several times a day and say that I have a virus on my computer. They say they can see all the computers in the house and they want us to go to the Start menu and type in some sort of command. As a computer technician, I think I know if my own computer has a virus or not. They say that they work for Windows(aka Microsoft) and that it's a serious issue that they need to take care of.
SCAM SCAM SCAM!!  The guy that calls sounds like the same guy. On caller ID it says it's a cell phone, (785)226-9814 from KS. He has a thick Indian accent.

The last time he called we told him we were going to tell authorities about his number also the FBI to investigate and he got really nervous. I'm hoping he doesn't call back again.

Keep getting calls from them and they never leave a message. On DO NOT CALL list but I guess taht dosen't mean much.
