This # has continued to call my cell phone every day. Once I actually answered and no one was there. Would like for it to stop.

I keep getting calls from this number. When I answer it it just hangs up. If you call back the number its a busy signal.

I did 'report it' as well as put my number on the gov't 'do not call' list and since the last call on the 13th of May...none! Knock wood.

Today, May 14 is the first day in weeks that I didn't get this company 'auto-dialing' me. There's never anyone there if I pick up so I never pick up anymore. But this is a good sign. One day in a row with no call. Hope, hope, hope they're done doing it as I can't block by phone number.

This number called me at 7:37 p.m. Central time.  The guy on the other end when I answered was from Lane Bryant Credit Card wanting me to buy a credit protection plan.

Just called the contact number for this company, spoke to a very nice and polite gentleman, he offered to have his call centers block my number from being called.  I guess when one complains nicely and politely, something might be worked out.

Never got your name but thanks for the nice attitude and helpfulness.

Calls every single day.....no message. I was wondering who this company was and what they wanted.  Went online and got my answer.  I have Caller ID and a special ringtone when it's someone I don't know, so I never answer, but, it's still very annoying.  I also get calls from Allied Interstate.....same garbage.  I would love to know how they got my phone number.

I too have been getting calls everyday, 2-3 times a day and no one there. I called the 800 # and told them to take me off their list or they will be hearing from my attorney, hope it works!

This call kept coming up on my caller ID for 4 days straight in the morning and evening until I answered.  When I did answere it was a solicitor from CIT BANK trying to enroll me in payment protector "automatically" the person was way too aggressive.  I had to stop him.  He was going to enroll if I agreed to accept the mail for this plan.  Watch out !

continues to call - never leaves messages.

I get calls from this number at least 3 times a day.  I answer and no one is there.  I called the number back and the recording said it has be disconected.

these people are calling me every day and just started calling me at 9 pm at night.  I am so ticked off it isn't funny.

19 minutes,17 seconds thats how long it took to get a person on the line when I called back the number.  Thank god for speaker phone.  I felt like they were trying to play terrible audio so I would give up and hang up.  They are Contact America like a another complaint had stated.  I questioned why they call peoples numbers and dont say anything.  Contact America stated they are having problems with their own phones.
So I guess we all have to suffer.  The sooner you get taken off their list the better, just be prepared to wait a long time:(

i anwsered and no one said anything...went to check it online...and see that there is many complains...great just what i need...someone calling me all day and not saying a thing when i anwser....

We got these calls several weeks back for about 4 days then it stopped. 3 days ago it started back up with 2 calls a day... Same as all the rest answer and get background noise but no answer.

The same has happened for a month at my home.  I have reported this to the Do Not Call registry.

I REALLY WISH that we could get some privacy from this private caller, STOP CALLING US........ALL OF US!!!!!!!!!!

Same time every day...answer and they hang up immediately.

I HAVE BEEN GETTING CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER FOR OVER 2 WEEKS.  WHEN I ANSWER THEY JUST HANG UP.  I CALLED BACK AND WAS PUT ON HOLD FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AT "CONTACT AMERICA", SO I HUNG UP.  VERY ANNOYING!!!!

i just got called today 5/5/08 but it only rang for a split second before hanging up. i called it and got a recording for 'contact america'. i do have an account with fashion bug, but i am not late on any payments ^^

Got a call today 5/3/08 from this number.  I picked up and the jerks didnt say anything.  What is the point of that??????

I've received daily calls from this number for 2 weeks now...perhaps longer. I now see the number and let it ring. They never stay on long enough to even reach my voice mail but the ringing is VERY annoying. I appreciate the other's comments and the info. from John too.

I have been getting calls from this number daily for over a week now.  After seeing that others have had this same issue I called the number back.  I was put in touch with a customer service rep for Contact America after only waiting on hold for maybe 2 minutes and they informed me that they are an outbound call center that calls on behalf of financial institutions.  If you have an account with Fashion Bug, Gordmans, Citibank and a few others that I cannot remember, then you could be subject to calls from this company.  I told the rep that I did not have any accounts through these financial institutions and she put me on their "Do Not Call" list.  Let's hope I put an end to it!

Contact America (and the various other names used) is a paid telemarketer. The "do not call" list does not apply since they get their information from someone you gave your phone number to. They sell credit protection plans on credit cards including Fashion Bug, Lane Bryant, Zales, Gordons, etc. They get paid by the "completed call", hence the hanging up when you answer. I did not have the same experience others had (except the "hang-ups). I called back and almost immediately got through. When I found out what they wanted, I asked to be removed from their call list and have not had a call in about a month (daily previously).

We have been receiving calls from this number for several weeks. When I answer, it disconnects. I'm like everyone else, can't someone stop this!
