This is NOT a "LEGIT" call. It's obvious that "fmradiodjshay" repeatedly posting the same message has a vested interest in this SCAM that is going on from this number.

I have been called from this number about 4 times in total and each time it's "an FPL contract agent" wanting to confirm information on my account supposedly. The requested my name and address to "pull up my account" and then requests my SSN to "confirm my identity" which I knew was not kosher.

PURE SCAM!

This has nothing to do with FPL offering a job or requesting an interview either. You posters calling this number legitimate are scum of the earth.

LEGIT.  FPL calls from a phone bank- you can't call back because u have to call their toll free # NOT one calling you.  It's Customer Advocacy Group of FPL trying to "explain" safety of Smart Readers which thousands of customers have called into Cus Service to say NO.  They call you back trying to convince u it is safe and u have no choice.  Newspapers all over ran articles, and FPL spokesperson lied*** saying customers could be put on postponment list- there is NO SUCH THING.

Some reps not being conform & just hang up.  I've had 3 calls & they left messages w/ toll free # & extension every time.

If they have cell on your cus record that's # they call- or if you left cell when you called to complain.

****Florida Today article week of May 1st, 2012.

Yes, to cell if that is what they have on record or if you called to complain about Smart meters and left cell #.

Did you ask to have smart meter installation delayed?
FPL must call from the number but leaves a message w/ their name, a toll free number, & their extension.  Their Customer Advocacy Group:
LEGIT call from FPL.  I called per a Florida Today newspaper article.  FPL spokesperson quoted as styating you could call to be placed on a "postponement list" regarding Smart Meters.  She lied.  All FPL does is have the Customer Advocacy Department call from this # to "educate you" and inform you there's "no health risks" and that it "is inevitible" and you "really have no choice."

I DID tell the person who supposedly put me on that list I did not want them to call.  Obviously it was disregarded.

They leave a toll free # so the customer does not incur l dx charges along with their name and extension.

If you have an FP&L smart meter, and the call came from this number, it is NOT a prank.  Still, I am the biggest advocate to NOT GIVE OUT info.  If this happens, tell them you will dial the power company directly IF you have a problem as their meters are supposed to be "smart."

This #  is a LEGIT FP&L number.

Unfortunately, it's going to take the State getting involved to stop this.  We're supposed to accept safety on their say so?  Not a conspiracy theorist, but I do NOT want this meter installed in my home.

Prank Call
Received  this call today, came up FPL, and the man on the  phone asked if I had power in the apartment.  I asked if there was a power outage, and he stated that the "electronic readers" sometimes flag a power outage. I told him I was out, and he said to call back if there was no power when I got home.  I called the number back, and it is disconnected. I have a feeling it is a scam, and probably he and his buddies are maybe trying to see who, and when people are home, so that they can go and rob the place. Don't give out any information over the phone.  Creeps, people are always trying to find a way to scam others.

Got a text actually from this number this evening. Seems to be bouncing any replies I've sent to another number. Strange, since this number is new since I've moved from Florida over 3 years ago, and they've never called before.
