This company actually went to my local court house and had me served with papers. I knew they were tied/related because the constable gave me the doc# which is what I gave to this attorney's office, which is how they pulled up my information. So coming from someone who does ignore lots of calls about non-sense, this is legit.. The constable also gave me their phone number to call because I actually never received any correspondence from this company. Check out number before you ignore and have a warrant issued for your arrest do to not showing up to court.

So why don't you send written correspondence to the debt owner that identifies the owner by name, social security number and detailed explanation of the debt in question?  Why wouldn't this be the first course of action instead of calling and harassing so many people with threatening language about a debt they most likely know nothing about?  I have officially blocked you so until I get something in writing you won't be getting any return calls from me.

You have made that abundantly clear. In the meantime, the BBB is waiting for your employer to respond to a request for a plan of correction regarding the pattern of complaints they are receiving from consumers:

Our file contains a pattern of complaints from consumers alleging that Gregory Adams & Associates has made threatening or rude debt collection calls. Some of these consumers have stated the debt in question was not their own. Consumers further claim that despite asking the company to stop contacting them, Gregory Adams & Associates continues to call.

Gregory Adams & Associates responds to these complaints with apologies and removal of the consumer's phone number from their database.

On December 28, 2012, BBB sent certified correspondence to Gregory Adams & Associates requesting their voluntary cooperation in resolving complaints on file with BBB and providing steps it will implement to eliminate the pattern of customer complaints. BBB will update this aspect of the Business Review once additional information becomes available.

I picked this info up off the web and it applies to telemarketers, so I'm not sure if this applies to this particular company.  But, it's worth a read anyway....There's some useful information here.

"Nothing that you do will stop them from calling you. The major players behind this have made millions of dollars, which means that they are too big to fail.  One of the major players specializes in aiding the rich with tax evasion and shell corporations set up in Belize. You can bet that the well to do in this country are not getting lower your credit card interest rate calls and due to that fact our government just considers a few phone calls a minor annoyance.  The FCC has temporarily halted 5 of the minor unprofitable boiler rooms. They will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days.

In the meantime the calls will continue since the major money is being made with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like   http://www.telephonemanagement.net and http://www.CallerID4U.com.  In their own words:  'Every day your company makes thousands of outbound phone calls. Every one of those calls generates revenue for many companies, why not yours? Our CNAM revenue-sharing program helps you make money every time a Caller ID request is made by a phone carrier. A high-traffic call center can lose hundreds to thousands of dollars a day to phone carriers by allowing them to charge for access to your own data.'

You can now see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet. The only way to stop this is to contact the FBI and ask why this crime family is allowed to operate and facilitate the ongoing criminal operations. This is one of the reasons that the RICO act was put in place, so why aren't they using it. Is this because this isn't a high profile, news worthy operation or is the FBI too understaffed and busy with Homeland Security issues. Maybe if we were rich they would take this seriously, but then if we were rich we would be using that criminal organizations services and protecting them instead of trying to shut them down. It is alleged that they launder money from Pacific Telecom through a trust bank account in Oregon and into foreign accounts at Scotiabank in Belize and other destinations.

Why hasn't the FBI used the RICO act and gone after this organization? On October 15, 1970, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (18 U.S.C. §§ 1961?1968), commonly referred to as the 'RICO Act', became United States law. The RICO Act allowed law enforcement to charge a person or group of people with racketeering, defined as committing multiple violations of certain varieties within a ten-year period. The purpose of the RICO Act was stated as 'the elimination of the infiltration of organized crime and racketeering into legitimate organizations operating in interstate commerce'. S.Rep. No. 617, 91st Cong., 1st Sess. 76 (1968). However, the statute is sufficiently broad to encompass illegal activities relating to any enterprise affecting interstate or foreign commerce." by Who Called

Any criminal activity can be reported to the FBI here:  https://tips.fbi.gov
Report it at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
Report it at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office.

There is a blog site that has information on one of these operations:     http://telemarketerspam.wordpress.com

Since I know all of my accounts are in good standing and I never took out a payday loan or any other type of loan of this nature; going forward I'm just going to block them.  Most SmartPhones have the block feature on the phone, but if not you can add the service through your carrier.  I'll just block any and all numbers that I don't recognize.

a real job ? i have never walked into a pay day loan center and borrowed a couple hundred dollars lol . im more then possitive that the people who are writting on these message boards arent even the people who owe the debt, you just have nothing else better to do then to sit here and write all this nonsense . im sorry you now have someones number who use to be a debtor which is why you are recieving these phone calls . our intentions is not to call the wrong number, if you were to call back and give us the telephone number that is being called we are more then happy to have that number removed for you . it is that simple, we are not a scam we do not want or need anyones information . we do send letters and make phone calls and we do have the ability to sue accounts as well. i myself do not threaten anyone but how are you calling other people scum if you are the one who borrowed money and doesnt want to pay it back?? it doesnt matter what kind of loan it is, you borrowed it, you signed the contract and agreed to pay it back .

To the so called collectors and people who claim to work for Gregory Adams & Assoc.  If you have to resort to messages boards like this one to get your point across instead of dealing with debtors like most creditors do (with a valid phone call and letters in the mail VALIDATING the debt) then you are CLEARLY not following the law and know nothing about it.  Again, stop harassing people with THREATS of legal action and just follow through.  You would find that most of the people you claim to have "red flag cases" with would be more than happy to meet you in court.

And learn to spell.  It only proves your ignorance all the more.

for all you "smart" people who are so possitive you know what you are talking about need to stop blabbing all this bs about these people. your right, you shouldnt GIVE OUT your personal information over the phone, a legit buisness already has that information. but it is illegal to release personal information to someone who says they are someone we are looking to speak to (it could be anyone on the other line) so therefor we have to VERIFY to make sure you are who you say you are .we will give you the info to verify, you do not have to give us anything. if we are calling you, we have a VALID DEBT in our office that we are trying to collect on . again, this is legit . you took out a loan you did not pay back . YES, it is pathetic the tactics collectors have to use to get you (debtors) to pay back your bill . if someone was to call you and say hey you owe this your more then likely to hang up and not care (been doing this way to long) but you borrowed money from someone and they want it back, which is in there right to . just like if you let someone borrow your money, you would want them to pay it back and if they didnt want to voluntarily im sure there would be other obstacles you would use to make sure you get it back, right??? if want to make sure your debt is valid, you call corporate not the place you took the loan from ( there not going to hold onto your debt for more then a year ) they will refer you the company who owns the debt (which is gregory adams and associates) thank you.

FL business license  https://real.flofr.com/ConsumerServices/Searc ... 231&licDesc=CCA

The FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf treats the INITIAL CONTACT between collector and debtor (first call, first letter, first whatever) as a special event. Legit collectors per section 809 of the FDCPA *must* tell you at initial contact, or send you paperwork within 5 days of initial contact, the following:
1. $amount of debt,
2. name of the current creditor (which may differ from the original creditor who might have sold your debt),
3. a statement that that debt will be assumed to be valid unless you dispute in writing within 30 days,
4. a statement that that if you do dispute in writing within 30 days, the collector must mail you written verification of the debt,
5. a statement that if you ask the collector in writing within 30 days, the collector must send you the name and address of the original creditor if it's different from the current creditor.
If you don't get the 5 disclosures, orally or in writing (you do not have to ask for them, the FDCPA requires collectors to provide them), treat the collector like you would any SCAMMER.
Note that 3,4,5 must be done *IN WRITING* so you will need to ask an address from your collector. If s/he refuses to give you one for any reason, treat the collector like a SCAMMER.
The collector can threaten court action at initial contact but the FDCPA requires that the collector actually take you to court if the collector threatens it. Threatening court and not going through with it (coercion) is illegal.
If they say the FDCPA does not apply to them because they own your debt, the debt-owner exemption only applies to the original owner. A 3rd party who buys the debt for the purpose of collecting debt is treated as a debt collector and not an owner and must obey the FDCPA as explained in this FTC Staff Opinion letter here http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/letters/arbuckle.htm
You can tape phone calls per your state law described here http://www.fairdebtforconsumers.com/Recording-Laws-Summaries.html
You can tape, then sue collectors (google "fdcpa attorney") for violations described in sections 805, 806, and 807, per section 813 of the FDCPA.
Has the statute of limitations for your state http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/SOL-by-State.html expired on your debt? If expired, don't pay.
Collectors generally have to be licensed by your state to practise (collect debt) in your state and you can find out by calling your state Attorney Generals Office. Ask if a license is required and does this collector have one. If not licensed, don't pay and file a complaint with your state AG.
Read useful debt-collection FAQs from the FTC here http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm
The debt collection process explained in plain English http://www.consumeraffairs.com/debt/fdcpa.html

These idiots have been harassing me for months now.  After the first week of relentless phone calls I started documenting all messages, writing down each time I received a call and ALL of the different phone numbers this supposed "firm" of Gregory Adams & Associates uses.  I've saved all of my messages from them.  I don't know what these people are up to, but I've received calls from various members of their so called organization.  Funny that last week I received a call, and when the caller ID appeared for 786-275-5395 it showed YOUTH AGEING CE.  So, I looked up the number today and found a website for a Youthful Aging Center in Miami, FL apparently associated with this phone number.  And these people claim to be legit?  Doubtful.  I don't know how else to get them to cease their BS other than to keep reporting them to any regulatory agencies that will accept complaints.  I strongly encourage others out there to DOCUMENT and SAVE everything.  I actually hope these morons will finally stop harassing me and live up to their threat of filing a lawsuit against me so I can meet them in court and prove my case.  Open ended threats - harassment.  These people are scum.  Don't give them any information.

I have been getting calls from your company, Mr. Perez, and what I don't understand is this:  The person I speak with only tells me that "he has a case in his office that is associated with my name and ssn."  I asked him what name is that and what social security number do you have?  He only wants me to verify the information.  I'm not a fool, like some your company may call, and would not ever give out my personal information to a company I have no ties to.  I explained to this person that I have had my telephone number for just a couple of months and that the person that used this recycled number in the past is most likely who he wants to speak with.  I went on to explain that I have been getting calls for a David but I'm not David, obviously, I'm a woman.  I asked him to cease calling me but I still get calls from your company, Mr. Perez.   This company has no rating on the BBB nor does it have an active status.  I was so frustrated by the abusiveness of these callers that I filed a complaint with Pam Bondi, Florida's Attorney General and am hopeful that the AG will take action......

To a person that calls..says they are depter the federal law protects us and the guys told me he was taking my dads money his social security he can't do that by law... I call social security about this, however we thought this dept this guy was calling about was paid off.

Becareful of this phone number. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THEM. They say they are attornies or mediators, they are not. They were given information from a website when you are looking for a loan, which isn't legit. Then they want all this info so they can scam and harrass you and your references, which I am one of the references. I've filed numberous complaints to the DNC and the BBB. I received an email from the BBB that I was going to be taken off their call list since I refused to give them any information on me, yet they were able to find my information by entering my name. Today, I received another call from them indicating that they are trying to serve papers to the person who put me down as a reference and if I knew where they were. I did not give any information but got their information and contact just incase. I looked up the numbers and sure enough, it's Greg Adams & Associates. I called their phone number with the ext 305 and talked to Scott. He was down right rude and professional when I told him why they are calling me AGAIN when I was assured by the response from BBB that I was taken off the list. Scott, got even angrier that I reported them and supposely "tarnished" their A+ rating with the BBB. He went off on a tyrant and wouldn't give me a word edgewise. I told him that he was unprofessional and rude. Since I used *67 when I called, my number didn't show up and he said that he will take my unavailable number off the call list and when I said not to hang up on me, he did. I again reported them to DNC & BBB.
