No, actually all companies hire some kind of call center type company to take their calls. Weather it's sales or customer service, you're likely to be talking to a representative in a call center. The pricing issue is something that you should pay attention to when you look at the flyer, or the website, because there are several different offers and promotions, therefore the price may vary. Also the number of T.V.'s and add-ons such as DVR, HD, etc. will likely add to the final price, and it will most likely differ from the price you see on the flyer.

So it may not necessarily be the rep "lying" to you, it may just be that you're calling about a different promotion than the one you're looking at, or that when you add all the bells and whistles your final price goes up from the base price, which only includes standard service on one T.V.

Sounds like a telemarketer, and irritated it is calling my work line as have been working emergency issues.

This number is now associated with DIRECTV.  I work for a dealership and just received several calls not sure if I should answer.  Turned out that it was DIRECTV calling me to ask to cancel an order out of our system, which was legitimate as I knew about the order being cancelled beforehand.  If you don't work for a DIRECTV dealership I don't know why this number would call.

The company's name is Alorica. They are telemarketers on behalf of big companies like Direct TV, DHL and so on. If you are on the Do Not Call registry, you will still get the calls because they are calling on behalf of someone who employs them to do it. It's big legal corporation and you need to personally talk to them to remove your number.

I personally deal with outsourcing some technical work overseas, so most likely what happened was my phone number was sold or given to this company so they can solicit business to me.

I assume this is the same for anyone else getting phone calls from them.
You may have a phone number that belonged to someone else who dealt with out sourcing.

If you call (786) 293-4000 there is a Menu option to remove yourself from their call list.

they are a contracted telecommunications or telemarketer company, they also take calls at the 800 number on the DirecTV flier you get in the mail - to win you back as a former customer.  if you press *67 before calling the 888-550-7569 phone no. on the DirecTV flyer, and calling from a phone formerly in you Directv profile, they answer "thank u for calling DirecTV" and the computer states they know you are a former cust. based on the ph. number [FL law permits reading your blocked ph. no.??].  after hanging up, i got the return call from the rep, asking if i had wanted to order directv.  i stated that i did not take calls on the number they had called back on, and hung up.

This number called me back within 30 seconds after I had called DirecTV and hung up after I caught THEIR rep lying regarding pricing on their website vs. their flyers.  Guess when you think you're calling DirecTV, you're REALLY calling their telemarketing gutter slime!

I get calls about 1-2 times per week from a number 786-293-4000, or something similar.  The only time someone said anything to me was when I said "Hola" in a spanish accent.  She said "Oh, you speak Spanish?" and when I said no, she hung up.  This has been going on for 3 months now!!! Other numbers are 786-293-4447, 786-283-4100.  When I called the 4000 and 4100 numbers, I get "You have reached PRC".

FYI: Whenever you call a toll-free phone number (800, 888, 877) your caller ID is always displayed. The rationale is that since the company that you are calling is paying for the call they should be able to see who is calling them.
