This number keeps changing and claims to be from wachovia bank.  They are not from wachovia they want personal info and wachovia says they are not affiliated with that number. If you call the number after 8 at night a spanish lady answers

(786) 358-5592     They keep calling me too..  I answer and nobody is there..  It just hangs up.  I tried looking them on reverse look-up..   They say its a landline phone in Miami....

Received several phone calls from (786)358-5592 the last couple of days. The name Wachovia Bank was on my telephone screen. The first call I let it ring until they hungup. Then ttok down the number. Today they called again and I told them to stop calling I don't want anything that Wachovia is selling. So they hungup.
    My gut feeling is a group calling from Miami tying to get banking information from me.

Got one of these just now.  Let it ring through.  

No voicemail left.  Used call blocking to prevent them from calling again.  Am sure it's a hoax/scam.

I keep getting phone calls from this number.  The first time I answered and asked who was calling, a woman said that it was a courtesy call and that she would call back.  Then she hang up.  Now I am getting calls from this number everyday, but when I answer I do not hear anybody on the other side.  Then whoever is calling hangs up.  This is becoming very annoying.

This lady ask for my husband but she did not leave any contact information and just hung up the phone.  Caller ID says Miami Florida.  I will block this number today.  They call on a daily basis and it is so annoying,

I got a call from this number and it said Wachovia on the caller ID. I answered and the lady said she is calling on behalf of Wachovia and is sending me a $25. gas card. I asked where she is calling from and she said Global Contact Services in North carolina. I said I was not interested and hung up. I called Wachovia and they are not affiliated in any way to this company and they had me cancel my deit card and issue a new one just in case...as I do bank with them. My suggestion is if they call you tell them you do not bank with Wachovia and they should hang up themselves.

Just received a call from phone #786-358-5592 and on the caller ID is shows Wachovia.  Although I bank with them I didn't answer as why would they call on a Saturday?  No message was left

I just took a phone call from this number.  My caller ID indicated it was Wachovia and the lady calling asked for my husband (gave his first name).  When I said he wasn't here, she said it was a courtesy call and she would call back. I called the number from my cell phone and heard a recording that indicated we were contacted regarding a promotion offered through Wachovia/Wells Fargo.  I followed the prompts to have us "removed" from their marketing list, but the recording indicates it can take up to 30 days to be effective.

No response.

Got 12 phone calls from 786-358-5592. Caller never leaves a message.

Have received at least 3 calls p/day from this "Wachovia" number.  I never answer.  They never leave a message.  I just assumed it really wasn't Wachovia.  I know they (Wachovia) doesn't do any important business over the phone.  I will call my local bank to report it. Maybe then it will stop!

Caller ID says Wachovia.  Though Wachovia was bought out by Wells Fargo banks in the North East still use the name Wachovia.  I keep a seperate bank account for tax purposes under my wifes name only.  Caller asks for my wife, so it is definately not a cold call.  (some inside info there)  .When told she is not at home callers said they would calll back at a later time..  Finally got one to talk and caller says it is about insurance.   I replied we have enough insurance.  I have call blocked, but next time if I reach it in time I will disguise my voice as an old woman and claim to be my wife.  I will not divulge my action here, but trust me the fun will begin.

You can't win with scammers, they simply change their number or the state they call from.

For this reason I own a "call-blocker", a machine I purchased from a Google search. All unrecognized numbers are entered into memory with the click of one button and can never reach me. The unit holds 60 numbers and will stop all anoying calls.

Get smart, buy one, and the telemarketers, scammers, and bill collectors are gone forever.

Just got a call from this number...when my answering machine kicked in, they hung up...I do have accounts with Wachovia, but do not do any business with them over the phone....in reading these posts, I guess I will make a trip to my local branch and see what they have to say about it....

I keep getting annoying calls from this number and I am on the National Do Not Call List.  How do I stop it?  I've reported the number a couple of times.

I get these calls...Sometimes twice or 3 times a day. Caller Id shows Miami FL and then the number. I never answer calls I don't recognize. We have changed our answering machine greeting to a generic one so no one can identify our household through the answering machine. BUT..they keep calling regardless. They never leave a message. I am getting tired of them calling all the time...The only good thing I can say is that they have never called at an unreasonable hour so at least we are not being woken up in the middle of the night by these creeps. I do hope that the FBI or some other agency is going to put a stop to this. I do wonder sometimes if the DNC list is just another way for people to get your info. I never had any problems with getting scam calls until I put myself on the DNC list...Just a thought.

Here's something that might intrigue you. Everytime you called this number back it takes a penny for the return call. Also the reason for asking your DOB is because most americans stupidly use their DOB as the pin for their account.  I have noticed the phone bill extra toll charge for this number. And I've made hundreds of calls to wachovia and they told me they were getting on it. One day I called them and a guy said something to me, he said that the only way for someone to know about me having an account with them is by being an employee. He said next time person calls get them to divulge their name and employee number. He told me the FBI is already investigating and has found 4 people tied to the internet voip number and explained to me their fraud department is working really hard to stop the problems.

I feel this is a scam.  I do not answer this number as I have caller id.  But I do not like to have to scan my calls.

Calls at all hours -- never leaves a message -- when I do answer, there is dead silence -- caller ID indicates it is from Wachovia, but Wachovia says it is NOT one of their numbers or banks.  When checking further online, I've discovered other homes have been bothered by the same number (SCAM??) call.

I too receive regular calls from this number.  Sometimes the caller id indicates Wachovia or just the caller's number.  I am not pushing a particular telephone maker but Panasonic has a phone which can block up to 20 phone number.  It has saved my sanity.  I do not answer phone calls from number I do not recognize.  A blocked number will ring once and then indicate busy.  I like to waste their time as much as they waste mine with unwanted sales pitch.  Sometimes this number has called 5 times a day and usually daily.  I hope this helps some others maintain their sanity.

Got a call at around 5pm Eastern time. Person asked for my son and when asked who is calling said will call back later and hung up..After these thread, I guess it must be wachovia

Just calledd the number back and it says "Insurance Services" tried calling to give a special offer . . .

I just received a call on Saturday.  The callerid said Wachovia and the lady was offering life insurance.  She asked for my DOB, which unfortunately I did provide but then I told her I wasn't interested. Hopefully they can't access too much of my personal information by knowing my DOB.  There are just too many scams out there these days and if I'm ever suspicious about a call in the future I will not provide ANY information.

They call and never say anything.  I dont know who they are or what they want.  They have been calling me once a day for the last week..

This phone number is probably one of several scam numbers that is calling Wells Fargo and Wachovia customers as well as some other people lately.  Check out the entries from 800-572-5848 on this site, that is some sort of sick people working at that business and posting on those calls and are likely the ones using this # as well.  Please do not call back this 786#, or the 800-572#, instead call back the toll free # on your banking statement and double check to make sure that you are on the DNC list for them as well.  It's a shame that already some people have been scammed by this, thanks to everyone taking the time to post about the experiences they have with these numbers, hopefully it saves someone else some grief.

Phone caller ID says Wachovia.  They call on Saturdays, when bank is closed.  They call on week days after hours.  They call during the day time.  They never leave a message.  I estimate I have received about 25 calls in the last two months.  Am getting tired of this.  I do not answer the phone.  As far as I am concerned it is a scam.  I have never had an account with Wachovia.
