I also got a call and they told me it was regarding a credit card and threatened legal action if I didn't pay.  I asked for a statement of proof and they never sent it.  Scammers!  Don't let them intimidate you!

How did those two periods get in there?

I got a call from this number saying there was a complaint against me linked to my social security number. I am able to block numbers but it is a issue I have been having with many 800 numbers and other similar calls from all different numbers with the same old line or scam I know what to look out for been victim already of identity theft but I do not own anything or make dealings that are not cash only I know this is a con and they will not rain over my life and want to warn others never pickup un less you know the numbers and make a list of all businesses that you deal with so your list will be available to be sure you know when to pick up and when not to.

Had the same thing happened this week.

I received a phone call and a letter in the mail from asset retention services saying I owe $1900.00 on a credit
Card that I never had.  They are looking for payment  or they will take legal means.  Same thing as above with national couriers trying to deliver for asset retention.  The guy on the phone was rude and said he will keep
Calling every day.  scam scam scam.  never had this credit card and will be contacting this card to see what they say.

I usually don't answer unidentified numbers but, was waiting on a call about a job a few minutes ago. I get a call saying they were National Couriers (in the county I live in...btw no such company exists here) and that Assett Retention was trying to make a delivery to me and needs me to call them at 786-358-6000 to update my file. She even gave me a file #. I'm glad I had enough sense to Google the number. SCAM

I got the same called called back and they asked if I had been served papers this is to a debt that didnt excit

they are debt collectors. Assest Acceptance and most likely the debt is either not yours or is over 8 years old

This company is Asset Acceptance a low life form of debt collector. They buy up 10 year old expired debts and try to con you into paying them under the guise of false statements. They are a boiler room with sly tactics to bait you into contacting them.

You can also contact the Department of Justice for your state and FL as this number states it's from FL, USA. report them and save the messages they leave for the above regulators. This is not ok and should not be allowed

They have addresses and parts of a social.

They left the same kind of message on my cell phone regarding a returned item and it was linked to my driver license number. Total scam I have never had a return item with a financial institution. I have filed a formal complaint.
