If you call it back, it allows you to remove your number from their calling list. Only takes a couple of seconds to do.

I have been getting calls constantly from random numbers since I filled out an online survey. These numbers are from a continuing education company. Calling the numbers back will only get a message that its not a working number. Numbers I've gotten calls from: (786) 358-9564, (925) 529-6604, and (732) 813-5621.
Today I decided to answer the call and tell them to stop calling (which is how I found out who they were). The second caller apologized and gave me a toll free number to call if I had any further questions. I wrote it down as I fit off the phone do I hope I remembered the number correctly. 1-888-361-3648. But when I called the number it was a recording that said "to receive your $100 shopping voucher good at Walmart, target, and many other retailers for only a $1.95 processing fee, have your credit card ready".

9/05 9:30 Called yesterday from 786-358-9598 at 13:07 no message so uncertain actual call type. Just know I won't be answering no matter what number they use.
| Ken 2013-08-21 22:33:48 Unknown |
Today we got a call from this number at 8:30 am and did not answer. They keep calling back with different numbers. Later, at 9:44 am, we got a call from 732?813?5584. I just got a call at 6:20 pm from 951?266?5586. The caller ID is always similar: EDUCATE MATCH, CLASSES AND CAREERS, or CAREERS AND CLASSES. If they call from so many different numbers as others have indicated, the numbers must be spoofed.

Cell Phone rings at 10:39 AM from a guy trying to get you to sign up for college courses, when told, not interested, he muttered something and hung up, still hearing him cursing me.
Great image for this business.
Try taking a class in being civil instead of being an a##hole

Fixing this problem is actually simple these days. Carriers often give you the ability to block numbers. But they are limited and typical of the lack of providing the consumer. But Google does a much better job.
First of all, NEVER ever give your primary cell number to ANY business. Even if its your doctor. DO NOT. They all sell your information. And they also tamper with your credit report while at the same time providing your private info to the credit agencies. It is why when you pull a credit report, you will see many of your past phone numbers listed on there. And ALL companies have access to this information because the FTC is your enemy. Not your friend. They are actually turning the other cheek.
Get a free Google number and give THAT to all the businesses. And then use the forward feature where all those calls will go to your primary phone. If any of these crooked callers bother you, then you can log into Google and block any number at any time. Even better, you can forward all the bad numbers to another number, such as a direct line to the FTC. LET THEM GET THE ANNOYING CALLS!! Imagine what those debt collectors and telemarketers will think when the FTC answers their call!!

Are you saying that if you can't collect money; you will continue to tolerate harassment?
FCC TCPA
http://www.fcc.gov/document/telephone-consumer-protection-act-1991
This applies to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) also... and clarifies which agency to petition for redress.
Any money to be had, if any exists at all will be found by complaining the the Attorney General of your state.
They can press law suits. As far as getting remuneration... this would only occur if your are able to prove that their actions resulted in a financial hardship; or they got your money.
BOCTAOE (But of course there are obvious exceptions)-Scott Adams.

The FCC deals with telephone activity involving exchange of money and fraud. The FTC is where you should file your report. That, and DNC (Do not call) registry, they also handle complaint violations.
FTC/Consumer Protection/File a complaint
The FTC and FCC coordinate activity with the DNC Registry thanks to some new guidelines and directives from the government.
The problem with these Classes and Careers, Phoenix, etc. companies is that they get your information when you fill out job applications online. Often these forms include a box asking if you are interested in earning an education. This box defaults to selected, or checked, and if you overlook this, it generates these calls.
Monster.com, provides job seekers with links to places seeking new hires. These secondary sites often have this box embedded in them when you fill out the application for the job being offered. It's sad that large companies feel a need for kickback; but, in fact they may be innocent and have merely chosen to participate in a service offered for free which allows prospective job seekers to fill out an application online. It is these site which are taking advantage of the pennies per lead they get generated from this information.
Complaining to the referring site, like Monsters.com, and the examining closely whether the secondary site belongs to the company hiring, or is just a tool they use can guide you to additional complain filing. Reporting to the company that is offering a job that the site that takes the applications is exploiting the job seekers may get more satisfaction and results than just about any thing you might do, as they have the option of taking action more swiftly.
These online courses do have a legitimate product they offer, and this is a source of leads. Complaining to the company of the callers behavior may also have an effect. If you explain how it give them a bad name, and is a constant source of bad PR; they may listen. Often the upper management doesn't know what the lower management does to resolve issues. Stating how the cold-calling sales department is working, and is defaming them can also have an effect.
The key to all this is in the numbers; it is ironic how many people will just sit on their laurals and let others do the work that by having been involved themselves would have solved the problem a long time ago. Even the government moves on the number of complaints they get. One must realize that the predominant form of governing or administration is the "squeaky wheel gets the grease" principle.
So, I hope this helps everyone. Now go out and squeak, all you wheels that need greasing.

They're just trying to scam you. there are similar numbers: 1-732-813-5621 ; 1-786-358-9598 ; 1-951-266-5548 ; 1-951-266-5507 ; and likely many many more. its some kind of soundboard that they use, don't be fooled. Ask them something random and consider their response to tell if its a real person calling
