Robotic call using my full name asking if this is not ----, please go and get ---. When I search the number the name: US LEC Corp. comes up. They are supposedly a communications company offering cheap cell rates, cable and satellite. The recording sounds like a debt collector call. I just changed my AT&T plan. I certainly hope they are not selling my info.

Your guess is as good as mine on this one. Cell phone numbers are harder to trace. This is a robo call which begins with a recording that calls for a person in particular and if that individual is there, the recording then urges one to just hang up if you are not the person mentioned. What really bugs me about this sort of call is that it is a cell phone number, so the identity of the caller is not readily available most of the time. And because scams are the order of the day, one must exercise some degree of discretion. Rule of thumb in my house: If you do not recognize the number calling you, just let them identify themselves on your answering machine, then you decide whether you want to return the call or not. Don't let others infringe upon your right to your privacy.
