ditto the Africa scam entry. The exact same M.O. from my craigslist add 2 days ago, here in Hawaii. Thanks for  these warning listings it saved me!

Also recieved a text message from this number ater posting on craigslist. Good thing i found this out so ill avoid the person.

definitely a scam artist.  Worst part is the fact that because my 'letters and numbers' phone number on my posts, you know there is an actual living waste of oxygen trolling for marks instead of some scambot

I received a txt from this # no more than 30 minutes after putting up an ad on Craigslist to sell my old Blackberry.  She came across nicely at first although I could sense that she did not fully read my ad (i.e. she asked me how much I was selling it for).  I asked her twice where 786 area code was and all she said was Florida.  Then she says that this BB going to be for a gift for her fiance in West Africa & that I have to ship it there, with her overcompensating me for the transaction.  At first I could not believe that someone would offer me $160 for a 2 1/2 year old BB, even including shipping it over to West Africa.  What sealed the deal was her asking me to send her a PayPal money request, and the way she has it set up on her end is that I don't get paid until I FURNISH the USPS Express Mail tracking #.  So if I did go and set up the shipping of the unit, do I think now that I would ever received that PayPal transaction come into my account?  NFW.  Stay away from anything like this...yes, it is a scam.

Just happened to me. I replied back with telling them exactly what they were gonna do and they were like...wtf?

texted me from my info. on craigslist.

I received a txt from this number saying they were interested in my post on craiglist. after a few txt messages I could tell it was a scam. The man also sent fake confirmation emails from paypal. Watch out for any calls or txt from this number.

Txt msg with my ad to ask if my item is still avail... My first line says not to ask... Craigslist shister, what a fool. Trying to intice for lower price.

just a text from the same number asked me to ship him a device, did a search on the number and this comes up. he found my device on kijiji.

Posted an ad on Craigslist and Usedvictoria.com and got text msgs from this number that were indicative of someone who hadn't read the ad but was trying to entice further texts. Would not call me because their earpiece was "broken".

I'm thinking it's either pay per text or they just want to sell me to text spam lists.
