I have received 32 calls from this number in a matter of three days wanting someone else, when I asked to talk to a manager they wouldn't transfer me. He told me he would not stop calling and there was nothing I could do.

Debt Collector
I've received calls from this person off and on for four years!  He's always saying he's from the State Investigation Dept (doesn't exist, I checked) and that I am being sued for a payday loan (I've checked this too - I paid off all of my loans and have letters from them to that effect) and that they are going to come to my work and arrest me. I told him #1. It is against the law to call someone at work and harass them if they tell you to stop, which I did, and that my employer's legal department wanted to speak with him, and #2. I don't owe any payday loans, and #3. That his department doesn't exist and that #3. I was going to sue him if he didn't stop calling me. I go through this every time and he stops calling for about 6 - 8 months, then starts again. Since they aren't a legitimate company, I can't sue them because we can't find them. I think I'm just going to have to chang my phone number. Now - information many of you may not have: If you've ever had a payday loan in Arizona, doesn't matter if you paid it off, when Arizona outlawed payday loans, the industry got even. They SOLD lists of all of their customers and that is why people are being harassed for money they don't owe. One payday loan place told me this and apologized and sent me a letter showing I didn't owe them anything in case I needed it to sue the caller.

I got the same call yesterday. I answered the phone and asked the guy who he wanted to speak to and what this matter pertained to. He couldn't even pronounce my name correctly and from that point I knew it was a bunch of crap. He told me that he was with the State Attorney's office and that there would be a lawsuit filed against me for some BS. I said "Oh really" that's nice then I laughed at him. I then informed the foreigner that I've never heard of some one calling to tell some one there was going to be a lawsuit filed against them over the phone. My step-mom works in the law field and I've brought this up to my step-dad and he just laughed. He once told me if they call me again to give them his cell phone number and that he would pose as my attorney and they'd leave me alone after that. He also said if they continued to harass me he would handle it with his attorney and have these crazy people reported to the proper authorities and that would take care of that for sure. My identity has been stolen 2 times that I am aware of so people please mess with me some more b/c I can promise you, you won't like the response or reaction you get this next time you call.

This is junk. This is against the law to tell anyone you are going to jail for a debt. Total BS. Do not give them a cent. tel them to call your attorney. Give them the number (make one up if needed) and they will go away. They are not going to call an attorney as that would give them up.

Just received a call. They told me they were with State investigation department. I automatically knew this was not right. The guy had a accent and I knew there was something up. He said he was calling to inform me of a lawsuit. I told him that you do not call to inform people of a lawsuit. You serve them. I then asked again where he was from. This time he said State investigation law firm. I said oh good, because impersonating a state office would not be a good move, not that fraud is either way. I told him to contact my attorney and gave him the number if this is true (which it is not) and told them to never, ever call me again as they are messing with the wrong woman. He seemed shocked and thanked me! HA!
