I just got off the phone with T-mobile and they are blocking messages now from third party numbers that come from four digits.  If you'll notice, all the messages you are all referring to come from 3536, 3801, 3772, etc.  They blocked all those texts that come from four digit numbers beginning 35, 38 and 37.

I am getting these messages from
Info@hsbc.net Urgent: card sarting with 54436 is limited please call 305-885-2695
I've gotten multiple texts at all hours and decided to call t-mobile to see what if at all anything they could help me with. They did nothing and told me they could do nothing. After asking if they were even looking into it , the woman i spoke to seemed annoyed with me. After explaining to her don't be shocked if she gets many more calls regarding this issue, i was told to have a great day. I have to admit i was not shocked by them doing nothing for me on this issue.  Beware guys!

Wonder if our numbers and identity is safe with Tmobile at this point....

I received that same message asking me to call 615.528.4440.  When I called HSBC they told me they were aware of the scam.

When I called T-Mobile, they told me there was nothing they could do and that they have no way of helping me.  I am very disappointed that T-Mobile is doing nothing about this.  If my identity ends up being stolen then I will certainly hold T-Mobile responsible for refusing to take any action.

I also have t-mobile and some others friend have too. We all are getting similar type of messages. Some thing is wrong with t-mobile phone listing. I guess t-mobile is not serious in this matter.

I received this

Prank Call
Didn't get a call, but got a text.

From: infos@HSBC-C.com
Body: HSBC - 544368XXXXXXXXXX CardLimitedPleaseCall : (787) 705-7951

I've never had an account connected to HSBC, let alone a debit with them. So definitely a scam. I'm under T-Mobile. Really poorly done, too. 787 is a Puerto Rico area code, not a business one. Also, no card company at least to my knowledge shows the first digits, let alone the first five digits, of the card. It's the last four.

Can we say fail?

Prank Call
I received a text from 378-2 on August 19, 2010 Thursday. It reads: infos@HSBC-B.COM//HABC-544368XXXXXXXXXXCardLimited  Please call: (787)705-7951

I know this is a scam. I will be letting HSBC know about this. A Bank would not contact someone in this way.

The message I received included the first six digits of my card.  Of course that' the well-known and public bank designation, so long as it matches "HSBC" it's sorta credible.  That's why legit sites refer to the LAST four of the card.

Hope I'm not paying for this spam...

phishing's good, apparently

II also received a test message from this number.  787 area code is from San Juan, PR.  I called chase and HSBC to verify and was told that this is fraud. This is an attempt to collect your personal information. DO NOT Response. Company targeted Chase, HSBC, Wal-Mart, and much more etc.  To report this to chase email accountatrisk@chase.com, chase will send you a confirmation of the complaint. For HSBC Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-524-0628. Do not include any personal information when emailing.

Must be a SCAM!!
Just recieved a text message from this number:
"infos@HSBC-B.com/hsbc... Card Limited Please Call: 787-705-7951"
Phone message says "this is HSBC telephone banking... your debit funds are limited, to re-activate please press 1... to positively identify you, please enter the last 4 digits of your social security #.

Of course I didn't give any info.
I just lost my wallet with my HSBC card in it at JFK (NYC) airport. I stopped my bank card immediately, but it looks like these scammers are still trying to use it.

I got the same message from the same number on my t-moblie phone.

Just so everyone knows, if case you didn't know, in order to send a text message to a phone from an email address, you have to use the correct "@tmobile.com", so chances are, the way they are doing this scam is to send a text to every phone number @tmobile.com, then increment one number. I.e., send the text to 1-555-555-5555@tmobile, then send then next to 1-555-555-5556, and just keep going.

I did get the same message a while ago from chase, now from HSBC. I guess the only good thing from this is knowing I have not been a victom of identy theft.
