I have seriously been considering receiving the call (I ignore them now), recording it (in CA only one person needs to be aware of a phone recording) and then asking them who they are, what company they represent so I report the company for spoofing caller ID which is illegal.
I know some collection agencies, sales people and even charities do this...

I have been receiving calls from this number for the past month or so. I finally answered the call this morning and some guy named Caleb knew my name instantly. He told me that he was with the magazine subscription I had, which up until 3-4 months ago I didn't have one. But now that I do, I didn't think much about it at first. He asked if I had been receiving my magazines on time and in good condition and I told him I had no complaints. He proceeded to tell me the same b***s*** line that everyone else on here has said...he told me that I was going to be charged for the next 20 issues if I didn't cancel by today. He asked me for my birthdate to verify my account, and stupidly, I gave it to him, thinking it had something to do with the magazine subscription I have now. He proceeded to ask me for an alternate phone number and told me that it could be a number of an ex boyfriend, but that he needed another number to register for me. So, I made one up. He then continued asking me what I did for a living, if I worked, stayed at home, or was collecting unemployment/disability. I told him what I did for a living but did not give him the name of my employer. Then, he asked of I was single or married and told him I was single, he proceeded to tell me that that is the way to be heh. He didn't seem pushy, not like calls I have received in the past. He told me he was going to switch me over to his supervisor and if I could put in a good word for him before I gave her my cc info to cancel the subscription. As soon as he hung up, a woman picked up, instantly as if they were using the same line, just two different phones. I proceeded to hang up and within 10 seconds a 800-000-0000 number called back and it was his "supervisor." she told me that she had a visa card on final and that I needed to confirm the last four digits on the card. Funny how she could not tell me the last four digits or the first four to help me verify which card...anyway, I told her I did not have my cards on me and she said that she would have Caleb call me back in a few hours to get my info to cancel. Guess I won't be answering the call again. Btw...I tried calling both numbers back from my cell and alternate phone and it told me that the number i am trying to reach is no longer in service.  I need to find a way to block it.  

I've been getting calls from this number that shows  up as 8001111111 and ive never answered until today .  He knew my name and asked me for my birthdate to "verify my account"  I didn't think and gave it to him. As soon as I did I knew it was a mistake !!  He asked if i m happily married  or happily singleand I told him happily married. He asked if i "still working" and I told him I don't work. So he asked if my husband does. I told him yes and he said that they need to know what he does but not who he works for. I told him that i m not allowed to give out that information and he said "what! Does he work for the CIA or something?!" Then he kept telling my why they needed that info and I just hung up. I'm very worried that I gave out my birthdate!!

Something about subscription to magazine's and complaints, when i only 2 and they told me like 5 different ones, neither of the 2 I'm subbed to are in there, and somehow they knew my name, so i flipped the conversation on them, and they just hung up right away, Be careful with this one if you get the call.

I receive an average of 3 calls per day  (111)111-1111. please do what you can to stop these calls.

I get off the wall calls from odd numbers all the time. I usually ignore them and don't answer. What bothers me the most (besides the calls themselves) is when the calls come at all hours of day and night.
My mother got call the other day from 8001111111, so this and other 'cover-up' numbers are still in use now. I tell her to ignore them and I'm sorry she's getting them but really How Do You Make Them Stop ?!?
Do not call lists seem to be a joke and do not work well.

I was just called from this company earlier today, claimed they are Reader Supplies. They claimed that I was at the start of a 20 month magazine subscription, And they have been getting complaints the magazines were arriving damaged, so he asked if mine had arrived in good condition and when I said no he verified my address which was actually an old address as we had moved and I wouldn't give him the new one. He said his name was Chris and he'd only been working there 2 days. He proceeded to ask me if I'd like to speak to a supervisor and to verify needed my b-day. Gave it to him, literally seemed like he handed the phone to someone else, tried to get the expiration of my card from me, spouted something about federal la w BS, and I asked again what their company name was, he told me then said 'but that won't do you any good' and when I spelled it out for him to double check I heard them right his response: 'Oh good you can spell'. I hung up. I'm nightly doubtful that my card will be charged tonight for an amount they never stated.

Some company tried to scam out of me my credit card No. Saying that it's regarding my magazine subscription.

We got a call last night at  3:04 AM from this number.  I didn't get to the phone in time,  they left a message saying they were from verizon and they appreciated our business.....like verizon would call us at 3:04 AM.  I am not happy abput this and will be calling verizon to let them know

Just recieved that same # on my cell. Noone ever calls me so I do not respond to any # unless I know them.

I rec'd a call a little while ago and asked for the supervisor to cancel it because I never ordered the mag in the first place she said she needed to verify info b4 she switched me to a supervisor. I told her lies and then she switched me to the supervisor. He then argued with me saying I did too order it, so I asked if he could play the recorded tape, he said he there was no way for him to cancel the 20 month subscription. So I asked what the name of the company was so I could report them to the Better Business Bureau he then said oh your going to call the BBB and then hung up.

These people are stupid. working to put an end to this specific scam. I've been scammed once and i wont let it happen again. They called me 5 times before i answered. The female on the phone was rude and the Male named Jeff hung up on me.

I was given the company name of reader service. I was out for any information they had on besides my name, not ever sure if they had my last name. The only think i know they may know for sure is my DOB.

Got a call from this number about "my magazine subscription"  I don't subscribe to any magazines.  They had my name and address but when I said I don't have a magazine subscription they hung up.  I hope I'm okay being that they had my address.

Been getting these calls every day and ignoring them.  Ditto to an earlier post!   If it's someone I really need to talk to they will leave a message.  Such an unusual number should raise a red flag immediately!  About a year ago, I answered a call out of curiosity and it was a magazine thing. Told me I had ordered about 10 and they were looking for payment.  Had my address and DOB.  Told me a specific date on which I had supposedly put something on my CC.  I replied it must be an error and please cancel my subscription.   He replied that it would go to collections and cost me 1,000.00.  That's when I hung up Nd that's the last time I answered a call out of curiosity.  I just don't answer unfamiliar and out of state numbers.  Any legitiment caller will leave a message.

Never ever give out personal information over the phone. Telemarketing scams are increasing and are becoming even more clever. Seriously, the caller ID is your best friend and is a dead give away on who is awaiting on the over end. Also.......

Just got a call from this number. Was expecting a call, so I picked up thinking this was the organization I was expecting. Wrong. It was some magazine service asking if I'd been approached by another magazine service asking me to renew my subscriptions. Now I do have magazine subscriptions so I did answer the questions. Then the rep stated something about a discount and transferred me over to a supervisor. The supervisor then started talking to me about payments. With my original service, I'd made my last payment, so only then did I know it was a scam. When I told him, I wasn't making any more payments, because I'd confirmed a month ago, I was done, he yelled at me to "shut up b****"! I was incredulous and replied "are you serious?" He then hung up. I never gave any credit card or bank account info, but this company had so much info on me already, I have to be prepared for anything. I'll be monitoring my statements daily. BEWARE.

they sent me a letter in the mail .. they like to call the company manatee entertainment resources .. I looked up the address its a construction company in fort myers Florida .. total scam
. I changed my cards just to be sure .. cause they knew the type I had .. the return number might be 8006489657.. if it even works ..

Magazine subscriptions you don't know about and you did not pick to be sent to you?  If it does not sound right, it is not.  Don't give your name, DOB, or CC info. If they have it they should not need you to tell them.  Do look for a charge on your card for 79.99.  You will need to report it a a fraud and get a new card.

They r harassing me I've made it clear I want nothing from them stop them now please

Received a call today, they left a message, I was not home. It seems someone in my house has been named in a complaint, a warrant as well and I was given a bunch of numbers to use to get the warrant references and the charges involved. According to the message it is from the Federal gov. Can't be them, they would send a registered letter or Fed officers to serve the papers. I have no intention of giving these nuts the time of day let alone a phone call.

I received a call saying it was a civil investigation, left on my machine. No name or number to call back its bs no one leaves that message

what do you mean a gang? what can happen if you answer the phone? I answered some survey questions but never gave them any info? What is this one thing all about - what kind of gang?

Has anyone received a phone call from all 1's   111-1111.  I did and it was a survery. The questions seemed harmless enough but when I asked what the survey is for and what company they are from, she didn't answer and just kept asking questions. It was only a 8 question survey and none of the questions asked for personal info which I definitely would not give out. They just asked if you use the internet or the phone to look up companies and stuff like that about websites. Seemed harmless but then after I hung up, I started to worry what that was all about. Has anyone else had an experience like that? It didn't show up as 800 on my phone, just 111-1111.  Anyone else relate?

Has anyone reported this to the FCC?

Don't pick up your phone if the # is 111-111-1111 because it could cause you to get in a situation you don't want to be in, if you pick up they will either hang up or pick up, if the pick up the phone they will most likely ask for your name because they are trying to act like there looking for some one else but real they just want your information, DON'T PICK UP!
