I got a call from this number my caller id said James Scafide its a scam

I called best buy and he comfirmed that this is a scam and Microsoft will NEVER call you for any reason!!! DO NOT DO IT PEOPLE!

This number called me and said it was Microsoft Tech Support and that my computer was infected. He had me go to to site where he could gain access to my computer. then after  walking me through showing me al bunch of viruses, he decided to take me to another site and it was going to cost $109 to install a software that would repair and protect. I think its bogus so I cussed em out n hung up

good god, I would love to take a call like this. Spin up a virtual session and record them fixing my machine.

To throw them a curve ball tell them you use Microsoft Linux - Redhat edition.

Just got a call and they said they were from Micorsoft Windows, told me something was wrong with it.  Asked me to go to my computer to push some buttons on it.  I started to but then stopped when I couldn't understand him and he was getting mad at me.  Telling me some letters, by then I was just listening, not doing.  Then he rattled off some long number and letters that I was to confirm.  I said no that wasn't it and told him not to call anymore.  He wouldn't give up wanted to call back and I said NO do not call me back.  I told him I would call them if I was having problems with my computer or take it to our computer guys and hung up.  

Yes, it's a scam.

LOL I have fun with these people sometimes. Mine is always a guy who I KNOW is calling from India or something. The first thing I say is What's your name, again? Then, when he tells me his ridiculously American name like Bob or Rick, I'll say NO IT'S NOT! That's not your name!! He'll spend about 5 minutes trying to convince me that's his name. One time he asked if I had lung cancer, This most recent time, he told me he was calling about my Window's computer. I said NO your not! I don't have a windows computer!!! I like to take up their time without giving them any information at all. They'll eventually stop calling me when their commission drops.

another call from this number,  no message   scam...  why can't they stop these people from doing this?  

This gentlemen with a strong accent (Indian) called me today and told me my computer has been hy-jacked by someone and that he was calling me from Microsoft. What was interesting is yesterday I called Microsoft and allowed them on my computer by remote and they took over my computer for about 1.5 hours.  They could not fix the problem and he was elevating my problem for someone else to call me to help me fix it. Turned out my husband was able to fix the problem today.  I did get that call back from Microsoft and told them it was fixed. He too had an accent and said they would close out my case.  About 5 minutes after i hung up 8001365664 Calls me with the above message. He was asking us to give him our computer ID.  My husband refused, we hung up.  We called Microsoft and they said they have no knowledge of such a person and that he is not with them.  BE WARE!

I just got a call today from this number. The man had a thick accent and said that he works for Microsoft. He proceeded to tell me that my computer is at risk for a dangerous virus, blah blah blah..... I told him that I do not have a computer, his exact  words were "oh, you don't? Ummm" then he hung up!

I received a call from this number identifying me by name in an indian accent saying that they were from Microsoft about my computer that had a problem.  I told them I had no such computer and they hung up.

I got a call today from a male with a heavy accent (I think he was phonetically reading an English script) who said he was from Windows.  When I heard that, I hung up.  He's called before and each time I hang up.  I won't give any personal information to a stranger who calls asking for it.  I don't care how legitimate it sounds!

I recently received a phone call from this number. They did not leave a message on my business line. This is an unsolicited phone call. Please everyone, NEVER give out any information over the phone to someone that calls you, regardless of the phone number they call you from. Likewise on websites that do not use a SSL certificate that can be verified. For those of you that do not know, your IP address is logged by any online activity you do. So this information is readily available. Use extreme caution when giving ANY information including your name. If it is a legitimate business call, they can ask you to call back or visit them online. Be cautious of mirrored websites as well, or addresses that are not exactly correct. IE we know google is www.google dot com, but a hacker could use the exact same site information and paste it to a different address such as www.google dot net or org or us or any other domain register. Please always follow best practice for securing your information. It holds true today more than ever, If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. at least 90% of the time.  Thank you for reading. I got a call said they were from Microsoft and  my computer was hacked they wanted me to turn on my computer so they could help me fix it. I said where  are you calling from he said Microsoft then he hung up.

This is a computer scam!  Don't fall for this.  Microsoft is not going to call you and say you have a virus.  This number when you try to call it back is a dead number.  If you gave any credit card information to this individual, you need to call your credit card company!  Cancel your card and file a dispute on any charges.  

Well they called me from 800-136-5664.  Why can't someone catch these scum bags?

Received a call from this number claiming they were from Microsoft and called Microsoft.  They confirmed it is a scam.

I received a call from this number and it is a scam.  They are trying to get access to your computer so they can load it with a virus.  Talked to the real Microsoft about this and the best thing to do is hang up and report to Microsoft the number from which they called.  According to Microsoft they can attack your computer and your cell phone if you have internet access.  Please be safe all!

I recieved a call from this number this afternoon. They claimed to be calling from Microsoft Support in regards to my "PC laptop" having an issue with windows. I went along with the woman for a little bit because I could tell it was a scam, and I own nothig but Macs. When I finally said "You know the only computers in my house are Macs" she hung up. Don't give them any info, and mess with them if you can :)

Never accept or give them any information.  They said they are from Microsoft, reporting you have problems with your computer.  They are lying, it's a scam.  They will tap into your computer and steal your information.  Microsoft  will never contact you.  Hang up right away.

Funny, because I have a mac. So.. smfh.

Had the same woman caller here as well, I just got very mean to her as I never share info with a nobody like her.. she made the same microsoft claim to me... FAKE..

Got a call from this no. 800-136-5664 and it was a hindo woman on the other end, she said she was from microsoft and wanted some information on my P.C., I told her where to go that I don't share info with a nobody and that if she called again, I would yank her in a court room for fraud,, I tried to call it back to see if they would answer, but it was a bad no.,, there is another no that calls me with a bad return no,, 810-801-8011,, both of these no's are fakes, DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR INFO TO ANY ONE CALLING YOU,, these calls are just scammers..

My fiance just received a call from this number saying he was from Windows Technical support, He said to turn on his computer and wanted him to push the windows button and the R key. TOTAL SCAMMER!!!

I don't ever answer a number I don't recognize  I hardly ever answer my cell anyhow.  Only my family gets me on the phone and that is iffy at best.

Received a call from that number as well...Also said they were a tech for microsoft, told him I didn't know him and not to call again, hung up on him, also with broken language from the country of India.  Shame on us for being so judgmental towards foreigners in our country....hmmmm wonder why!

Someone called me that was using an automatically dialer (I could tell because of the delay when I answered until he responded).  He knew at least my first name and told me he was calling me from Technical Support for Microsoft Windows.   I responded:  "I don't understand" and he hung up.  

I've never contacted Tech Support for Microsoft.  He's a scammer.
