Got 2 msgs on my cell phone from Lyndon Hall - one msg in July and one in August.  Works for a debt consolidation firm.  Called the number he left and was greeted by an automated greeting.  One of the options was to press 1 if I wanted to be removed from any of their 'listings'.  I pressed 1 and was disconnected.  I tried again.  Got a live person when I called back and pressed 1.  Told him I wanted a phone number removed and he asked for the number.  I gave him the number and he said it would be removed.  We'll see...

Got a call from this number as well...exact same message.  They have probably called me 30 or more times in the last couple of months...one day I even got three calls.

I finally got tired of ignoring and called them back to tell them to take me off their list.  We'll see if it works.

Collecting various reports spotted at this website, it seems that numerous posters here report receiving calls which contain phrases such as:

"Frank Thomas with City Point Express at 1-800-717-8057"

"Sam Abbott with Executive Direct Solutions at 1-800-693-7119"

"Chris St. James with Broadcom at 1-800-210-2892"

"Linden Hall with Channel Docs Information at 1-800-210-2731"

"Simon Phelps with Imperial Research at 800-210-3613"

The calls are almost identical (and in some cases it is obvious that one person is using numerous aliases), and all contain a phrase similar to "credit card balances and the minimum payments which [are/aren't] going up", with the words "[are/aren't]" always slurred.  Bizarre.

Two interesting suggestions I've seen at this website: (1) all these calls originate from a shady collection agency, possibly called Lib Management, Inc.  (2) this represents the latest "Nigerian scam".  Some of you might have seen recent news stories saying that up to one fourth of the population of China have received spams in the past few days via their cell phones.  Whatever the true explanation, one thing seems certain: a criminal gang is at work here.

This is a scam and the character known as sam abbott is fictional. You can't stop them with the government-supported "Do Not Call List," because they aren't registered with the gov't. Also, they're listed under many different numbers, so beware. I suggest quit wasting your time with this illegal harassment scam that's only after your identity and also should be sued.

I have gotten this call 7 times in the last two weeks at all hours of the day...

? This is Chris St. James with BroadCom at 800-210-2892.  I?m calling  regarding your credit card balances and the minimum payments that are going up. It is imperative you call me back.   You now qualify with the debt reduction allowance program. Again my name is Chris St. James and my phone number is 800-210-2892.  It is imperative you call me back.?

Also, today I got this exact same message but the name was Chris Young. He sounded amazingly like Chris St. James. Go Figure!

A Lyndon Hall said he was calling regarding my "credit card balances" and "minimum payments that are going up."  It was imperative that I call back about a "debt reduction allowance program."  Lyndon Hall's cal lis preceded by Hi this Corey  ..... then when my answering machine goes it;s Lyndon Hall's blurb.

This is very similar to the Chris St. James phone call I received for two-three weeks every night about 7 PM my time zone.

? This is Chris St. James with Broad Comm (spelling) at 800-210-2892.  I?m calling  regarding your credit card balances and the minimum payments that are going up. It is imperative you call me back.   You now qualify with the debt reduction allowance program. Again my name is Chris St. James and my phone number is 800-210-2892.  It is imperative you call me back.?

The phone numbers are  three digits off, and they mention the debt reduction allowance program.  Each time I call either place I get someone with a very thick non-English accent and always ask same questions and when I ask for address or supervisor I get hung up on.  I reported this to better business bureau agency, I was told the Chris St. James company, Broadcom see DataCom has 4 complaints, and is allegedly located in Burnaby, BC, Canada outside Vancouver.  But the Lyndon Hall call is coming from Grand rapids.  Go figure.

We receive calls, at our business, daily from this number.  They are always recorded from a "Cory."  I called 800-210-2731 twice, requesting to be removed from their call list.  Both times I was hung up on.  I will be filing a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry as well.

Recorded message (man's voice) left on my unlisted home phone (voice mail):

"Hello, this is Lyndon Hall with Channel Docs Information at 1-800-210-2731.  I am calling regarding your credit card balances and the minimum payments that are currently going up.  It is IMPERATIVE that you give me a call back because you qualify for the Debt Reduction Allowance Program.  Again, my name is Lyndon Hall and my phone number is 1-800-210-2731, and it is imperative that you give me a call".

According to this website, this call actually originated from LIB Management, Inc., or perhaps Lucre, Inc., which is apparently a collection agency. If so, the message is clearly deceptive, in fact it appears to constitute "pretexting", which is illegal in some circumstances. Since I do not in fact have any credit card debt, either this company is trying to harrass someone else entirely, or else this call is deceptive on multiple levels!

I have received a number of very similar recorded messages left by persons misrepresenting themselves as "Chris St. James with Broadcom" and "Simon Phelps with Imperial Research", which apparently also originate from LIB Management, Inc.  I recently changed my number after being harrassed by a completely different set of callers mispresenting themselves as working for other organizations, but who according to this website work for other collection agencies, and who address persons entirely unknown to me, so it is annoying that within days I started being harrassed by a different set of callers.  I moved last year, and can only guess that all these calls concern customers who previously used (or gave) the two unlisted phone numbers where I have recently been harrassed.

How are these sleazy collection agencies obtaining unlisted phone numbers in the first place?  That might be easily explained--- I noticed that one of them appears to have a website which resides on the network of the corporate headquarters of one of the largest phone companies in the nation!  If your phone company actually owns the company which is harrassing you, unlisted numbers have little value.

These practices ought to be illegal.

I got a call from this guy Lindon Hall telling me that it is imparetive that I call him about credit card minimum payments being incressed.  I decided to look up the 800 number he left and found out that this same caller has called from other numbers from other areas in the country. He always leaves the same 800 number.  Sounds like a scam to me.  But this is the latest las vegas phone number he's called from.  Look up 1(702)520-1100 for mor info.

Lynden Hall and another man called regarding the same thing leaving the same number.  Both claiming that I qualify for the Debt Reduction Allowance Program.  COMPLETELY sounds like a sales cold call.  We're in times where many of us have credit card debt.  Sounds really fishy and potentially an underhanded way to prey on downtrodden, debt-ridden Americans. I did NOT call the number back.

Chris Saint James from 1-800-210-2892 keeps leaving automated messages concerning a debt reduction scam.  Hope that enough of us can get these guys to stop targeting cell phones and lock em up.  I'm not sure where to officially report so I'm reporting it here.

Same as Jill's comment below...the man calls and leaves a message...
"credit card balances" and "minimum payments that are going up."  It was imperative that I call back about a "debt reduction allowance program."
He said his name was Chris St. James calling about debt reduction from Broad Comm. He left the # 800-210-2892.
The number that shows up on the caller id is 231-732-2401. We are on a DO NOT CALL list. They call fairly early in the morning. This has been going on for months. I will be reporting them to the FTC and my stat consumer agency.

Same thing here....I actually called it this morning; when I asked for Lyndon Hall - the guy on the phone told me I had the wrong number and he hung up.  I think it is a phishing scam.  I have re-registered my numbers on the national "Do Not Call List" - this should not be allowed.

Got the same fast-talking message from "Lyndon Hall" with Channel Dox. I loved how he used the phrase "it's IMPERATIVE you call me back" two or three times. Of course, they ignored the fact that I'm on the DNC register.

I called back on Skype and got hooked up to a rep:

Them: "Customer service, how can I assist you?"
Me: "Why is imperative that I call you back?"
Them: "It's a courtesy call to let people know we can help them with their credit card debt"
Me: "You didn't answer my question. Why is it IMPERATIVE that I call you back?"
Them: "It's to help you if you have balances on your credit cards"
Me: "Perhaps you don't understand the question. I'm not asking why you are bothering me, because I know. I'm asking why your message says it is imperative that I call you back. Do you know what the word "imperative" means?"
Them: "Umm..."
Me: "That's what I thought. Goodbye"

Anyway, hopefully their 800 number is charged on incoming volume or something and my little call cost them a penny. Jerks.

I received a call from the same above mentioned "Lyndon Hall" today who used the same line about that it was imperative that I call 800-210-2731. I listened to the message several times but could not identify the name of the company, so I called the number. A man named "Guy" answered, told me Lyndon wasn't available, and when I asked the name of their company, he hung up on me. After work I tried the number again and a young woman told me the name of the company is "Channel Dox" (I asked the spelling) and she told me they are a debt reduction program. I asked if they had access to my credit records, but she said they did not - that they merely give a courtesy call to help people. She said those that wanted help would call. I thanked her and hung up. When I researched this on the internet, I found you all! Thanks for letting me vent.

This is my 3rd time calling them in a matter of months asking to be removed.  We are also on the Do Not Call Registry.  Something is fishy, because I called back to speak with a live person 3 times about this, and each time they hung up on me when I asked their street address.  One time I was told they are in Vancouver Canada.

Call # 4: I called back acting like I wanted their services, and they started asking me questions telling me they have to have someone call me back.

They are either a debt collection agency of some sort, or scam artists and the person calling back will be putting the hard sell on, no doubt asking very personal information.

I know someone who fell for getting a business loan with a fake Canadian Bank, and actually sent the $500 application fee in, and the phone was disconnected when they called back to make sure the money was received.  They lost their $500, and nothing could be done because it was out of the country. (this person was not a native citizen of the US) I am wondering if this "credit card consolidation" is actually a scam where they not only get your personal ID info, but talk you into sending money for fake services.

I had previously contacted my state attorney general (MA) about this, but never heard anything.

I would think with all the things to worry about on the home front, that these losers are not given the smack down by US authorities.  I'm sure they are preying on innocent victims every day.

I'm tempted to call with legit info and see how far they go with asking for personal information and money.
