It starts "Hello, my name is Stven H..." then the voice says I must urgently contact 1-800-213-9519 or a decision that affects me will be made without my input. My name or who the call is for is not stated. It is a recorded message and repeats indefinetly. I know, I listened over a dozen times while I looked this up. =) Pushing buttons does not provide other options. No information on the nature of the call is given.

3/15/2010 @ 10:00AM EDST - Received four phone calls from Stephen Harris (Caller IS is New York, NY 1-800-213-9519). Caller introduces himself and threateningly states that he has received your records and he must make a decision ASAP. (Implication: You are in trouble if you do not call back). The caller does not give name of person he is calling - obviously yet another scam.
Is there some government agency I can report this to? It has gone past the nuisance stage since this phone number has been calling me incessantly for a week now. Four times in one morning is too much !!

The 1st time I started getting the calls indicated the incorrect middle name/initial of my name and I told them that I'm not whom they're looking for. Since, they've called up to 5 times a day for a couple months now and I've answered the phone on many occassions but there's nobody on the other end. Today, hurray, I finally spoke with some dude at the other end reciting my name (without middle name, of course) and I told them once again I'm not whom they're looking for regarding some Capital One credit charges (???). Also, he recited some SSN number that I didn't recognize. He told me I had no right to be unpleasant with him on the phone and I then told him to F-Off. I'm really certain I'll continue to receive calls from this number. With the 112 outstanding lawsuits against this firm, it appears it does nothing to deter them. I don't get it. They know that I'm not the right person they seek but they'll continue to call daily. Hmm.
I'll get both numbers blocked on my phone so they'll need to find an alternate route of contact that will hopefully have all the relevant information I'll need to go to the authorities.

Thank goodness I inherited my daughters "smart" phone... I can add there number to my "ignore" list and it wont even ring... These a***s were calling me at 11pm at night. When I yelled at the guy for the late hour, he says "well if you would answer our calls earlier, we wouldnt have to call you at this hour"... I then told him there were "anti harrassment laws" and that from now on, they could only contact me by mail..
They told me there were no such law...
This is all over a $600 debt, that if I hadnt lost my job due to illness 1 1/2 yrs ago, would have been paid off. Seems they dont care that I paid faithfully every month, and never had a balance due.. Then got sick before I could pay off the bill, and now they want over $1500 for the $600 bill.... Vultures.. I could NEVER do what they do.. Yeah, there are some real bad slackers around, but they could care less what the situation is..
They do change numbers, but since I set up their other numbers to be ignored, todays call was the first in a week... Before that, they called at least 10 times a day, even one day 13 times... I can play the game as much as they can..

This number called and left a recorded voice message to contact them regarding an important 'business matter'. The recording identified the caller as MRS Associates. I know what their business is so I have no intention of returning their unwarranted call.

These people are R-U-D-E. I answered my phone and was immediately told I needed to supply information of a personal nature. The caller did not identify themself, did not ask to speak to anyone in particular or ask who they were speaking to, and demanded information rather than asking. I hung up and they called right back. When I asked who they were and why they were calling they identified themselves as "IRS" not "MRS" and I believe that was to intentionally intimidate me. They went on to say that I knew why they were calling and again asked for personal information. I hung up. They called back and I sent it straight to voicemail. They left no message and have called back every hour on the hour since. I will not answer because I know the call isn't for me and because I don't enjoy being treated in such a rude and unwarranted manner.

I have received countless calls from this number. They always call when I am at work and do not leave a message but they wait for voicemail to pick up before they hang up and fill my mailbox with hangups to the point no one who cares to leave a message can. I refuse to call them back because I don't owe anything to anyone and it seems that this caller - from the posts here and other sites - is a debt collector. I'm going so far as to terminate my landline and rely solely on my cell phone. I've had enough of this crap. I agree with many other posters here - there has to be some way to stop the harrassment of people who are innocent and have no connection to whoever these inconsiderate b*****ds are trying to reach. And if I were one of the people they are trying to reach I'd have an issue with them calling as much as they do and being as rude as is posted here. As the phrase goes You catch more bees with honey than vinegar. Simple respect seems to elude them.
Karla 2010-06-17 20:36:45 Unknown
So, who did they say they represent?

WTF is with these guys? I am getting calls for the person that had my cell phone number before I did. Is there an active group lawsuit against them that I can join or something? It is really getting to be a hassle as they are calling from 0911 until 2151 which is really not helping with my sleep issues due to narcolepsy.
Plekanec 2010-04-22 00:54:54 Unknown
This is definetly a scam. I am Minor and they have obtained my banque records. What a load of garbage. I don't even have a banque account.
Plekanec 2010-04-22 00:33:58 Unknown
Is there some way to keep these D-bags from calling? I'm starting to get annoyed.

These butt hole surfers claim they are "jack Smith" and that they have a very imporetant message. it is a computer generated voice from a subcontracted Indian call back. These a** munches don't care about the Fair Debt Collection practices Act. ignore the, or block the call.

This is a bill collection agency. They call repeatedly for my sister in law that lived with us 12 years ago. I told them 4 times that she didn't live here and I offered to give her whatever info they wanted me to relay. They refused to give me any info. Today they called again and I explained to them that I would relay info to her upon reciept of a $25.00 delivery charge. Gina Wilson (with a defined Indian accent) told me the delivery charge was too high. I explained that I would take legal action against them if they ever called again. She assured me the number was removed. Yeah right!

Different name, same game. The 800-213-9519 was the callback number. Caller ID was 212-920-8660. This time it was "Brian Kennedy" at extension 5276. From MRS. Thought I got rid of them a month ago, calling that I owed some PDL from 4 years ago that I never heard of or took out. And just to be sure, I checked the bank, then googled up the phone number and WOW! I was not so nice in my 'cease in desist' speech after I verified the scam. I would HATE if I had to waste MY time writing a letter, but I will for the record. Already reported this scheme to the FBI, FTC, FCC, State's AG, and the DNC Registry. The accent is a dead give away one, and second the calls appear to be routed so as to come out of New York.

I have recieved the calls from both a male and female person recording. When it comes to the part where they insert your name into the prerecording, it has become very entertaining the pronounciations of my first and last name.

Lots of lawsuits against these goons: http://dockets.justia.com/search?q=Mrs+Associates%2C+Inc. (If I were you, I'd file a suit right away.)
MRS is ranked by Bud Hibbs as one of the worst debt collectors in the country. This is Bud's report which also lists their contact information: http://www.budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/mrs_associates_inc.htm

At first it was funny , I told them right name wrong person and ask them to stop calling. Well, they have been calling as often as 3 times a day with very demanding demeaner. I called them a 2nd time they said I owe $9,000.00 and they will have my wages garnish if nessary. I told them fine let take it to court that been 6 months ago. I am still getting the calls 2 and 3 times aday.

My mom got a call on her answerphone from them yesterday, stating that a decision had to be made and they would make it without her if she didn't respond. My husband called them back and they insisted it was a financial matter and they would need him to verify the last name by spelling it. He refused and they refused him any information other than it was MRS accounting and it was a "financial matter". He hung up, but not before telling them not to call her number again and that he will be reporting the scam to the authorities.

I called this number back just to see who it was. It's collection agency that I'm guessing is based out of india due to the accents of both the people I talked to (first hung up on me when I insisted on talking to Steve Harris so I called back). Apparently 'Steve' is just an automated voice and has no desk, nor is he even a real person employed by this company. The reps get rather upset when you insist on speaking with him as your paperwork is on his desk, or so the message states.

Same message that everyone above received asking to call Steven Harris with the message looping. I called back and they asked for a former stop mom that I have not sean or heard from in over 10 yrs. Not sure how my phone number was linked to her besides last name considering I have only had my number for a couple of years. I told them that story and they said that they would mark my phone number as do not call. We will see if that works.

I received call from this company MRS associates. They are trying to track down a person who had my landline telephone number several years ago. The person happens to be a deadbeat when it comes to paying his/her bills. I just ignored the call.
