is calling daily leaving messages that I MUST return the call immediately. Cannot establish who this is.
Florida 2011-06-06 20:57:18 Unknown
Calls daily at least once. Already called them back and they are a collection agency (Allied Interstate for Spring-Nextel) and asked for 2 names of people I don't know (one hispanic, one something else). Said they would clear my number but it would take 48 hrs or so. They called twice again today at nearly 9pm and it was, once again, asking for a name (William Goodwin?) of whom I've never heard. Have had my number for over 7 years and don't know these people. very suspicious. The odd part is they never leave a message, so if I didn't have caller ID, I wouldn't know who they are.

got a call last night.. told the idiot not to call back.. they called back.. so i called them like 10 times.. first idiot asked for my #.. i said i dont give that info out.. he got smart and said "we will just keep calling you" i said i will just keep calling you too! the 4th time i called i gave them the White House phone number. The 5th thru the 10th time they told me my # would be removed without even asking me for it.. very inconsistant company with idiots working for them.. typical of any call center.

I moved to my new place about 5 months ago. I keep getting calls for some other lady. I've called back and told them they have the wrong number at least 20 times. Today they started again and I found this site. I called Verizon and they told me to change my number. Why should I be constantly harrassed for someone's problem. This is BS. Today when I called back, they hung up on me three different times when I told them to stop calling me and they had the wrong number.
Me 2009-01-05 18:47:22 Unknown
I actually called them back a 2nd time, after looking up the 800 number online. My words to the rep were as follows: "Your scam is over. I found out a little about you online. This phone call is a piece of advice. Start packing all of your things and get out of there. You're about to be busted, sued, and if all goes right for all of us on this side, you'll hopefully be shot!"

Under FDCPA laws, you do not have to talk to them. Send them the following Cease Communication letter VIA certified mail and request a return receipt. It will not erase the debt, but will at least give you some peace and quiet:
Today's Date
Your Name
Your Address
Collector's Name
Collector's Address
VIA CERTIFIED MAIL
Mr./Ms. Collector,
I am writing in response to your constant phone calls!
According to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, [15 USC 1692c] Section 805(c): CEASING COMMUNICATION: You must cease all communication with me after being notified in writing that I no longer wish to communicate with you. Therefore, I demand that you stop calling me at home, at work, on my cell phone or at any other location!
In accordance with the federal FDCPA, now that you have received this "stop calling" letter, you may only contact me to inform me that you:
are terminating further collection efforts;
invoking specified remedies which are ordinarily invoked by you or your company; or
intend to invoke a specified remedy.
Be advised that I am well well aware of my rights! For instance, I know that any future contact by you or your company violates the FDCPA and that since you already have my location information, calls made by you or your company to any 3rd party concerning me violates section 805(b)2 of the FDCPA.
Be advised that I am keeping accurate records of all correspondence from you and your company, including tape recording all phone calls. If you continue calling me I will pursue all available legal actions to stop you from harassing me and my family.

I get the same message on my cell phone. So I call and they want the number that the message came on and I give them the number and they ask for my brother- I have not talked to my brother in over a year and he do not have my cell phone number. I asked them to remove the number and they say that they will but don't.

I got several calls from Allied Interstate to call them back immediately about 'a debt' -- no other information. I have no debt, so ignored it. Then, I got curious and called them back. A very unpleasant person who I could barely understand was very rude and said I should wait 24 hours -- that my number had been removed -- and would get no more calls. When I pressed him about what the problem was he mumbled, "Wrong number". THis should be stopped.
Kathy 2008-10-29 21:42:21 Unknown
Yep, it's Allied Interstate. On my caller id, it shows up as Telemarketing. They have also used other numbers to call. I'm not sure why they are calling since I have no debt to collect!

Go to www.budhibbs.com, and follow the instructions on how to deal with this "illegitmate" company. They are a junk debt collector who tries to collect on random past, old debts "from anyone" out there. I found this out from the PrePaid legal, from Kroll and Associates who are aligned with consumer fighters like Bud Hibbs, a consumer attorney. Also, they will have you file a "Letter of Validation", done in writing to the 3 known addresses of Allied Interstate, plus file a local police report in writing with your local police department (got to get all things in writing!). Then file online with: FTC.gov, FCC.gov, your phone company, and keep a written daily record of all calls (local police will need to see that list)--it is constant harrassing calls--The copy of a Letter of Validation is free from Kroll (You may have to join Pre-Paid Legal to get the help) and all you have to do is talk to one of the agent reps to send you a pre-made letter in pdf form to copy out (you can format the letter with the agency you want to direct to on MS word), then make copies and send the letter out. A word of caution, those *****tards will keep calling, as the legal firm Parker Stanbury in Los Angeles mentioned that they can call, but nothing can be done, "Unless there is something in writing" to prove it's your debt; so don't sweat it. But do keep tracking and filing on the FTC.gov(file a complaint) do do a E-Trail on these goatsuckers! Gotta have a trail! Be brave and pass the word on this email to all consumers out there, and have all go to: http://www.budhibbs.com to inform yourselves on who these scammers and con artists are!

They call me every night right before I go to sleep wanting me to call 1-800-214-6530
Fred 2008-10-03 16:26:12 Unknown
Chopped message "... for that purpose only. Please call back 1-800-214-6530."
JAMIE 2008-09-30 14:55:55 Unknown
They call from 7753191506 if you pick up there's dead air. If it goes to voicemail, the message left sounds like it's in the middle of the recording...."obtained will be used for that purpose only. Please return this call to 1-800-214-6530 and a representative will assist you. Again, it is important that you return a call today to 1-800-214-6530, thank you."
I get 2-3 a week!

I called back after reading this board. They wanted someone with same last name as me but different first name. He said he would remove me, no questions asked. He was very pleasant not pushy at all.

These people called my number to get ahold of my sister. The lady was rude and when you call the number back, I just got a recording.

A recorded message saying something like this is in regard to a debt, all information gathered will be used to collect. I called the number and spoke to Luis ext.SLN. He asked for Brenda, I told him no one with that name lived here. He then told me that my number would be removed from the list. He was very polite with me. I would suggest to anyone getting these calls to call back and discuss why they called. I hope this helps anyone being called by Allied Interstate Collection.

Glad I'm not alone. I started getting this message a couple of weeks ago...it's a freakin machine telling me I have a debt and to call at 1-800-214-6530. Oh, and they also have the nerve to insist I call TODAY! They even called on a Saturday! Hey, if these people don't even know my name, I'm sure not going to call back. I got so spooked by this message, I even did a credit report, fearing I had fallen victum to ID theft. Nothing! No debt! I even had a good score. It should be illegal for these people to do this! If they're a REAL debt collector, can't they research people better than this? Like, oh, I don't know, getting credit reports. They seem to be just guessing and calling people at random..."hey, do you have any debt? No? Well, we'll just keep calling." I'm scared to call back because I know how these "shady" businesses are. I know they'll just keep calling back. They're just Dialing for Dollars, and they don't care who they bother.

Allied calls every day with the same message. Call 1-800-214-6530 in regards to a debt. I have no outstanding debts. It is a recorded message. I am on the no call list, how do I stop this company from badgering me???
irritated 2008-07-20 17:19:37 Unknown
well George, once we tell one of you that you have a wrong number then you should remove that number from your data - yes? we owe nobody any money and everytime I pick up my calls at home from our remote location -as we vacation all summer at our beach house - your recorded message is there telling us it is important to call this number: 800-214-6530...we have never had Sprint or Nextel service EVER - I definitely DO NOT want to call that number from our cell phones as then you guys would then have that number to harry a** us here as well - is there a secure email to send this information to to REMOVE our home number from your data base?

They have been leaving messages on my answering machine for over a month. We have no debt, either, so finally fed up I called back. The person answered said they were looking for a Robert Smith..nothing near my name or anyone who's lived here in the past 20 years. I told him that, so he asked for my phone number to take off his list... So how did he know to ask for a Robert Smith if he didn't have my phone number in the first place???? That's just too suspicious..I asked if my number showed up when I called him and he said no.. I asked to speak to his supervisor, since he wasn't being cooperative when I asked what company he was working for. He refused to tell me the company name, then said " I am the supervisor" when I asked again. I just told him I would report this to the BBB and hung up. But there has to be a way to stop these calls.

This company has been harrassing me since i got my new number. if someone real actually called me, or picked up i MIGHT be able to end this annoyance, but no, i've only gotten the automated number. Calling once a day isnt enough, i get like 3-4 calls a day. Stupid me tried to call the number back at first...no one answered, and that is when the calls got worse. They call as early at 8am and until 930 pm. It is unacceptable. I attempted to file a complaint with the Do Not Call registry, but they said that debt collection agencies are exempt from that. I called my cell phone carried to see if i can block a number, they said they could not. I dont know what else to do. I dont want to have to switch my cell number again b/c of a stupid company...but enough is enough! I get pissed off every time my phone rings, knowing it is them.

Hi everyone i am currently working for allied interstate sprint nextel/and sprint pcs to tell you the truth, the majority of the calls i make are wronge numbers, or in some cases it could be the person with the same name but different number and if you get that answering machine telling you its in regards to a debt just call back ask for george me and i will explain whats going on and if it isnt you that im trying to contact then i would be more than happy to take your number out and also it takes about 24-48 hours for that to process so disregard any calls until then, also if you know you owe the money i have various payment plans that best suite you. thanks -george-
