If this guy is legit, why is he so unprofessional and rude? all debt collectors are required to mail you documentation and tell you what account or company debt they are collecting for. If he can't tell you our its something you have no clue about then its probably a scam. I have received odd phone calls like this before saying Im getting sued for a hot check.(knew I hadn't done this) they tried to trick me into giving my ssn to pull up my so-called "file" since I didn't know the account number (which obviously I was never given). I hung up after arguing with the man saying this was a scam. He never called back. Don't give out anything personal on the phone. if you want something in writing, give them a p.o. box if you have one.

I owe a pile of money, and I mean like a few houses worth. These low life bottom feeders will not get any of it. The original creditors will be paid, and they in turn will give these schmucks the 30 cents they bought the debt for.

Don't pay these guys anything, you can make a better deal with the original creditor..... I have done it many times. These greedy pieces of garbage can get the nothing they deserve.

Way to go "T"  Ray Clopp doing this to you does not surprise me!  He is a deadbeat, and if we all ban together, we can expose him.  We have a lot on him right now, and even have spoken to some of his family members who have agreed to help us.  Hopfully you can get your 3-months of rent.  This guy is now targeting out-of-state vocational schools, taking on collection accounts, collecting on the businesses behalf (using illegal tactics I might add), then not paying the business anything of what he collects.  He has written checks off closed bank accounts, a felony - and is currently operating with a FAKE Federal ID Number.  We believe that his wife is operating these scams with him.  There are others out there that have been swindled, and because of the internet, we are finding eachother.  If anyone received a call from him asking for money - do not believe a word he says, call the Company that you may or may/not have the debt with.

His wifes name is Tracy Rodgers Clopp. He did several thousand dollars damage to my rent house and left owing 3 months rent. The neighbors told me he was stealing electricity and water. I spoke with ex employer and he said Ray left owing him several thousand dollars. He has an extensive record in Dallas county. When he moving out of my house and was trying to rent a new house, he gave my name as a reference along with his phone number. When the lease agent called to check his references, he posed as me a gave himself a glowing report.

Do not respond to Mr. Clopp - he is a thief.  He says that he is collecting on behalf of a creditor, but it is a scam.  He will keep the money and never pay the creditor their portion.  DO NOT CALL HIM BACK

Nasty people. I called to report that the person they are calling is not at my address. Piss poor attitude. When they call don't even reply.

TX LADY-Mr. Clopp must be a busy guy today- he called me also about 4 hours ago from the same number with the same statements about the IRS and judgment and retirement accounts, etc.

Mr. Clopp just called me.... it was an attempt to collect a debt from my former husband. I've been divorced 10 years... he told me he was from the County Clerks office and a lawsuit was being filed against me because my exes debt was also mine. (His number on the caller ID had his name and number : 972/805-7083) Said the IRS would be checking my records from the last five years to see if I had any assets and what income if any I had.

Now I'm no dummy, as soon as he started his legal threats I just held the phone away and let him talk, when done I said 'okay' bye. That was it!

I'm not scared or worried about a thing cuz this guy is only bullying and I'm not one to be afraid of the big bad wolf..... I really wish I could afford to file a suit against HIM...

You've left a message on a monitored line.  The message has been saved.  Your recorded claims about a case filed with the county clerks office are ridiculous.  I know this because I've worked there.  I owe you nothing and am no deadbeat.  I am not fearful of threatened legal action.  I have an attorney on speed dial because my parents spent their retirement on law school.  I benefit from their sacrifice because I never need to pay for an attorney.  Next time you call, be ready to reveal any licenses you hold.  I seriously doubt you are licensed to do anything but drive.  You claim that a case has been filed with the County Clerk's office, but no clerk's office that I've contacted seems to know what case you could possibly be referring to.  Your name is also well known at the clerk's office, but not because you've ever filed anything.  They know your name because they receive a steady stream of calls asking who you are.  Their answer is always the same.  "Mr. Clopp does not work here.  No case has been filed against you."  Here's the bottom line...Either file it or don't, but don't misrepresent yourself or the legal status of any matter.  In the mean time, all messages that you leave are and will continue to be saved, logged and eventually utilized to make a major complaint with every agency that you are accountable to.

Someone just called my neighbor stating thy were Ray Clark and they left the (800)214-7876 #.  They wanted my neighbor to take a message over to another of our neighbors saying they had been trying to reach them.  They also stated they had sent a constable over but no one answered.  Travis County was not mentioned and we are in Orange County, FL.  He just said he was with the county clerk's office.

It's not that he changed his number, he either was promoted or demoted. With my knowledge, most likely promoted. I may not agree with some of the tactics that are used at CRS but in a lot of the collectors cases it is effective. I had a different approach when collecting it worked for me. CRS does not purchase these debts they are hired at a fee or a percentage. They act on behalf of their client, their client base is very vast and their collections even larger. Quotas have to be met and sometimes scare tactics are used to move the process along. Pay is a fair salary plus a under par commission. The collector or even manager has more slack when settling on a lump sum basis and could potentially save the debtor a lot of money in the end.
  As far as notification of debt is concerned. CRS sends a letter out as soon as the account is received no calls are made with in the first five days, ample time for the postal service to deliver. Then the accounts are distributed to managers then collectors. No debtor is able to say they have not been notified if they have kept their address updated with the original creditor. If the debtor has not done so, then it is up to the collection agency, most cases the collector, to find the debtor. After doing such investigating, with limited resources, patience is wearing thin. Now I understand that sometimes this letter is not immediately received by the debtor, but prompt acknowledgement to at least the first phone call is usually the most productive.
  Basically what I am saying, after acknowledgement of the debt and the sob story out of the way... CRS can help you resolve your debt situation so that all parties involved are satisfied.
  As far as I am concerned if you have the money to be paying for the internet service to post these blogs you have the money to pay your debts.
  Some times you have to tell the collector to shut the "f" up and listen to what you have to say; but collectors are tired of hearing about "Whoa is me" and would rather hear how it is going to be resolved.

Give the collectors a break and if you really can't work with Ray ask to work with someone else; but Mr. Clopp, Mr. Phillips, and Mr. Merano are going to be your best bet to get it resolved quickly and a heck of a lot less expensive.

Caller by the name Ray Clopp did the same thing to me claiming he was an arbitor with the Travis County Clerks office. When  I  asked to verify his license he got angry and hung up on me. This Ray clopp has  now CHANGED his PHONE number to 1-80-214-7875.
