Received a call from a Terry Brooks - same thing above -- said our company owed money - not true! Wouldn't say what company she is with. Thanks for your comments. Looks like her scam continues.

Do not reply to these people. They are trying to collect any information possible to link up to old time barred debt. If you do owe anything be it an old hospital bill, credit card, utility or whatever, if you supply them with any information it then reopens a case in which the time starts the statue of limitations all over again. Many times debts are passed of from one collection company to another and as soon as one of them get you to agree or supply social number or mailing address then they have solid grounds to open the case again in which they could sue and garnish wages. Best thing to do is never pick up the phone on an unavailable or unknown number. Let the person leave a message if its that important

This mrs. Brooks called and wanted to speak with my husband who was working. She said it was a civil lawsuit and it would be filed in my county by tomorrow if he or he's lawyer didnt return the call by tomorrow. and she gave some Case number and he would have to be at court in our county in two days which would be may 23rd. I called our court office and they told me without being serviced by a county officer it was a  telemarketer trying to get personal info or a debt collector.

Just got the call today from an unknown number...message was left to me. "This is Tracy Brooks, a complaint has been filed, you have untill tomorrow at 12 for you or your attorney to call me " went on to say will be reported to your county..made me nerous, I called the number she gave, went to machine...Let my husband hear it...he said it had to be nothing, we never got any paper work...So here we go..SCAM number was 1-800-214-7888...

Recieved the same call as everyone else.  Used my maiden name which I haven't used in 20 years.  Also called my husbands cell and left the same message.  I too have checked my credit and have nothing on there.  She did name the county I live in.  Wonder how they get the information

Same thing as everyone else wont answer my question about where the debt is from or what company i owed money too i been up to date on all bills for last 2 yrs so i find it funny .... just checked my credit report and nothing out of the ordinary  1 month late on 1 CC card thats it so this has to be a scam my credit score is 710  so i call BS on miss brooks

I think you're going to hear crickets in reply to your question. A debt collector (or a slob posing as one) who relies on empty legal threats is violating laws and can't prove you owe besides.

I received a call on my cell, my house and my mother received a call from Ms. Brooks today. Same thing about affidavid and wage garnishment. Has anyone had any threats come to reality ???

I got a call from Ms. Brooks asking to have my atty call her as they are seeking to garnish my wages. She said she had an affidavit and gave me a case number..etc.  I told her I don't have any paperwork and to please send a letter to my house.  She then asked for my address.  I hung up immediately and checked my local county clerks office to see if there was a case open against me and came up negative.

Called my house and my mothers house today. Calling FTC and filling a lawsuit. Pure harassment.
Make them pay! I am going to set up a autodialer system to call them 24 hrs a day and see how they like it.
Put a 3 min msg on it so it will cost them thousands on their phone bill. Sound like fun? You can do it too. If we all call them constantly  and say things about them then maybe they will stop.

Lemme guess, the "affidavit" (nonexistent) proves you owe some payday loan or junk debt. (also nonexistent) [PDL guess] This could be from the usual US lawbreaker or a fake collector from South Asia. Try to get a business name and share it with the readers. By federal law this name cannot be withheld.

Got a call from Ms. Brooks from this number talking about an affidavit of some sort. I think it's a scam or something.

I keep getting calls about a terry bushea. I've got several of these calls over the past year. It says "if you are not terry bushea, do not reply". It sounds like a call for collection of money. I don't know a Terry Bushea.

Same here. Unknown number, didn't answer, same exact claims to be an attorney calling about an affidavit.  And, came to the same conclusion that it's a scam of some sort!
