An automated message is left on my answer machine for a person who does not live here & also leaves an account number.  Automated messaging doesn't understand answer machine. They are leaving a message while my anwer machine is answering, therefore only part of that message is recorded.  This is harrasement & annoying.  The caller ID reads:  Toll Free Number

First off the number is BLOCKED, first clue it's a collector... they won't be receiving a call back from me.  Mentioning "investigation" but no references to company name "investigator Hill' will be waiting for a very long time for my return call.

These are scam artists/unruly collectors, you may do well not to contact them. If they do happen to have legit business with you well then you have a mailbox outside for that kind of communication. Now, I like to have fun with these kinds of folks. If you have a smart phone you can download a free app to change the caller id on your phone anytime you choose. It will let you even change your voice to a man or woman, and record your call if you wish. Most companies that provide this service give the app for free then charge a nominal fee for pre-paid minutes (your call is routed through their telecom company allowing them to change the caller id for you - thus the fee for minutes). Obviously you can't use the app to harass anyone or violate any laws, and the companies providing this service DO monitor for abuse, but there are plenty of ways to use it on these folks that is perfectly legal, and fairly cheap (free if you don't mind ads). For instance, I have MS and when it gets really bad my speech is slurred, I usually wait until then to call them - I'm impossible to understand. It happens often. Why do this? Because every minute YOU keep them on a "fun" call is one less minute out of their day to scam somebody. Have some fun keeping them busy in your spare time. They only have so many people answering these lines, and answer they will because they WANT to talk to the caller. I won't list any apps here, just google for "Fake Caller ID" and look around, there are several. They are specifically designed to hide who is calling, the person being called will never know it was you. Have fun, and don't sweat the small stuff :)

"Investitator" Hill called me at work today to say that I have a Affidavit of Complaint against me, gave me a case number and said to call back within 24 hours.  Something told me that this is bunk.  I'm a teacher with a clean record.  I'm glad I investigated.  I think this is a scam to get money.  I asked if she was a police officer and she responded with, "that's all the information I can give you."  People like this should be sent to prison...they are the scum of the earth!!!!

caller leaves message looking for John Singleton.  Unfortunately, John must have had this phone number about 6 years ago...and didn't pay his bills.  Bill collectors keep selling his info hoping to track him down at this phone number. . .you'd think that after 6 years, they'd realize that the deadbeat doesn't have this number anymore --- I'll just keep blocking their numbers...

I just got a call from "Silvia Hill". She stated she had a message exclusively for (my name) and said again it was for (my name) last four of my ssn. Very urgent, etc. "They have filed an affidavit of complaint "on my behalf". At the end of the message she gave me a case number.
She did not identify her company in the message.

Got a call from Sylvia Hill asking for my husband.  She said she received my husbands name because my neighbor listed him as a financial reference and my neighbor is now in default on an auto loan.  She sounded all fancy with a Affadavit of Complaint and a a case #.  I told her we dont give a crap because we dont even talk to our stupid neighbors so its impossible he listed my husband as a reference.  Seems to me she looked up his address and found our home located next to his.  She's an idiot. I told her to not call my house again and she said I will hear from them again because my husband was listed as a reference.  What an idiot!!!

Rec'd call from this number Ms. Hill;calling about someone I do not even know. Stated that she was calling from Texas and had gotten a serious legal complaint against the person and that this same person had given my name as a reference.

I called her back to let her know that I had reported her to the police, she became very angry with me because I had reported her, she then hung up. And you know it...I just called her back!!!

Harass me and I will surely harass you back.

Got msg from a Jonathan Nash. Said needed to talk to me or my attorney regarding a claim filed in his office. Will not be calling back.

Just got a very threatening call from a Miss Hill who refused to identify the company she works for except to say that this was a legal issue. Asked for me by name and when I refused to identify myself, she became very threatening telling me "I would learn my lesson soon" among other things. If anyone from this number calls again, I will be filing a police report for harassment. They can also be charged $1000 in civil court each and every time they call after asking them to stop calling a work number, at least in Iowa anyway. So I will also put them on notice that I work from home.

They called and left a message on my voice mail asking for someone I have never heard of. I guess they can do whatever they want to him, I don't care.

Have received numerous calls from these people, no idea what it is even in regards to!  
They have multiple times stated that they have a complaint in their office or an open investigation
about my property address.  Asked that I or my attorney contact them back, so I believe I will have my lawyer contact them back for certain! Very glad that I read this first.  Thank you.  "Tom Butler" called me but wont' be hearing from me!

I am a sucker...damn!  I thought it was a work related call and called them back.  Miss Beck played the call well pretending to be a law office.     I wish i had googled the number before calling back.  LESSON LEARNED!!!

Yes, I got a call from him telling me of pending litigation on a debt that is old and last payment was over 7 yrs ago. I just told him that he can take it to court and the judge will just throw it out since the statute of limitation has long past....it is 4 yrs in my state. Then I hung up on the guy.
I do believe he is just another junk debt buyer - my opinion.

They called my home for my son, (who has not lived here in 7 years) and left this phone number and a reference #.  The caller was only identified as Maria. Fat chance I will give this message to my son.

Left a message "This is Miss Taylor, I'm calling in regards to a complaint filed against you with my office, please call me back at 800-214-7898".  She never asked for ME by name, she never identified what company she was with, she never said what the complaint was in reference to.  I won't be calling back.

I got a call from this number today.  The lady said this was regarding a vehicle I voluntarily surrenderedon last year and that they will be filing a case to garnish my wages or to get my tax refund.  They never identified their company.  I told her only work part time and my job will be ending in a few months.  She said to call her by the 18th in order to stop the wage garnishment procedure they will file with the court.  I called the number back out of curiosity to see if what agency this is.  Lo and behold when they answer, they do not acknowledge the company they work for.  I find this strange, even if it's legitimate which I think they are trying to scare me into paying for something I can't.  It's in God's hands.  I have no money, so they can keep calling. Once I actually see what comes up on the caller display at work, I want be answering them anymore.

Veronica called me looking for my family member. It's a collection agency. Post thier numbers on Facebook and Myspace Skype etc and have all of your friends call them back. They loooooooooove it. LOL Too bad they can't use the internet to find people. The White Pages can send them right to the house even has beautiful aeriel images. Dumbasses!!!

This number called me and told me it was very important to call them back, told me there was an on going investigation. This is american recovery services out of Texas, they have numerous lawsuits against them for not following the law in debt collections. I advise you to get a debt collections lawyer before you even think about calling them back. I now have two lawsuits against them for illegal debt collection actions.
