Citi makes a big deal about keeping your info "private", but apparently new legislation was passed, or a loophole was found... you have to ask them IN WRITING not to share your info with anyone, or they will do it. The entirety of their statement is "we won't share your private information..... if you contact us in writing to notify us that you don't want us to." A LOT of financial services companies (loans, mortgages, credit cards, etc) have gone to this policy. It's called an "opt-out" and they bury it in the middle of their fine print because people only usually read the beginning and the end.

This is Citi Financial Auto who just sold a large number of their accounts to Santander Finance (a division of Drive Finance) as delinquent accounts, even when some (at least mine) were a payment AHEAD of schedule! Santander uses 214-540- numbers, so beware of that, and they occasionally throw in a 619-757- number just to mess with you. They also have an 800 number (so I'm told) but don't use it much because people "know" that's a debt collector. They have NO understanding, are incredibly ignorant and rude, and threaten to report you if you so much as argue with them. They will not listen, will not stop calling, and will call every hour from 8am to 9pm, because those are "legal telemarketing hours". They will annoy the hell out of you until you pay them (just to shut them up, even if you don't owe anything), so my advice is to BLOCK them and REPORT them as harrassing (you CAN do this even with debt collectors).

Update; three more calls within a span of twenty minutes. I called and they hung up, I called again and went through the machine process to get a number, then it was a dead end with a machine.

I find it ridiculous, I don't even belong with this company or any other. I had to google to see who's been calling me literally every ten minutes. I was hoping it was a company I had filed a job application for(service where I live is horrible and my calls get dropped a second in most of the time), but I find it it's City Financial? The heck man. I've already told them it was the wrong number, yet they keep calling, every day, every week. Is there anything I can do about this? As in taking them to court for harassment? I don't want to make a quick buck, but I want them to learn a lesson. And since they've been calling, I've been getting other phone calls from telemarketers as well.

actually, the hours are before 8 a.m. and after 9 p.m. for legal calls. If they do not leave a message or speak to you direct, they are allowed to call as many times they want until they speak to someone.

My payment to Citi is due on the 18th. of every month. My electronic payment goes out to them on the 16th. of every month, yet I get these HARASSING phone calls every month beginning on the 20th. The idiots at Citi tell me it may take up to 5 days for my payment to post. Well it sounds like the IDIOTS at Citi to to upgrade their system! My bank tells me that Citi has MY money on the 16th. of every month in their account because it IS an ACH transfer. I'm not going to give Citi my money that is drawing just a little interest any earlier.
Is there anyone to contact that can stop this madness? What happened to grace periods? And the funny thing is, I have overpaid them and the payment due is less than the regular payment, AND THEY STILL CALL! What IDIOTS!

CitiFinancial called us after we paid by western union, wonting to know when we planned on making the next months payment so they could post it on our account. We were not late on our payment, but chose to use western union because they claimed that our payments were not recieved on time when we mailed them. These people are rude and a bunch of idiots. We too will never finance anything through them again. The money recieved from the goverment should have been put torwards educating their employees. So many numbers and so many diffrent people in diffrent departments,no wonder they cant keep up with your payments.I too am contacting the BBB. Maybe there will be help with them that can resolve some of the burden. Good luck to all of you. Hope relief comes your way soon.

Hate this company, I will NEVER use them again. They call before the payment is due and they call after I've paid it at least 5 times a day starting at 8:00 in the morning. I can't pay it 10 to 14 days before it's actually due and even if I could, I wouldn't. Now they are last on the list to be paid. If it's not over 30 days late it doesn't effect your credit. Come on now! They need this money so they can keep paying the big bonuses to the top shelf boys. They showed their true colors with our tax dollars, million $ bonuses and a $50 million jet.
